What do you think of the current state of this forum? (poll is multiple choice)

I think this forum is groovey.

I only selected "There's not enough people."

I joke about the forum dying, but it's really just in a lull caused by the lack of OW... anything, really. No news in a long time. At least not anything in substantial. As long as we have members posting, the forum won't "die."

That being said, OWI seems to be pretty damn dead. For the time being, at least.

I change my vote to too strict gosh dang it. :)

Voted for Not Enough People, but I think it's the lack of interesting threads. People might have their own ideas for a thread, but they give it up, thinking it wouldn't be a huge success, or even end up in an argument.

Or people just lack of interesting ideas... So this leads back to the Not Enough People vote... More people, greater chance of ideas, greater amount of good threads.

Heeh I have plenty of weird ideas for threads... But theyare weird as i said :p


Anyways, I chose too much spam, too many isiots, and too few members... I also chose the forum is fine. Cos even though its a bit dead or whatever, it still doesn't stop me from my main interests here.

Way too chaotic.

Several of the great members have left, and most of our ''old'' members now feel it is their duty to spam up the forum. And noone's trusting eachother because of Wired, and also because of him I'm a bit skeptical about some newbies who seem to know this forum's past so great and type with perfect grammar.

The lack of posters is a problem, but not a big one. I say leave it for now, but when we've got barely any left it's time to think about re-doing this forum.

Bwaha, no need to worry, CS. We reeeaaaally don't want or feel like creating another account. Ever. Strangely, I've been skeptical of new members as you described because I think it's someone "trying to make a point" or seeking revenge on some level or something.

Anyway, I chose not enough members but everything is fine. It could certainly be much, much better though.

I'm not saying you would make another one, I was trying to say it's just raised allot of Dino suspects around here. Well, for me atleast. It'll go away in time though.

Don't worry. We still can't match the sheer amount of stupidity that all of the younger members churn out on a daily basis. We're very inadequate, apparently.

Rest assured that I'm continuing (because... you know... I never stopped) to take care of multis. You should be suspicious. There have been a few since the Wired incident, and I'm not going to kid myself and say that it's not (at least partially) my fault. So I'm not going to whine about it. I'm taking care of it.

What kind of sick bastard would create a multi? I certainly have no idea.

Yeah OANST. I heard most of the multis were made on April. Damn whoever did that.

Edit: Luke, I'm not saying the spamming ones are you and whoever else was involved. Wired flamed, but not really spam. I'm talking about people talking a load of shite in threads, or changing the subject completely. Such as the Harry Potter discussion breaking out and PETA.

I origionaly chose "Chaotic", but then changed it to reflect why I see it as chaotic.

IMO:
Too much spam.
Not strict enough {which would result in spam}.
Too many idiots {who do the spamming}.

I may be narrow minded, or "NAZI"ish in internet terms, but I remeber OWF being more... user friendly.

Well.. We aren't many activee members left... Actually.. I think Fancorner and GD is much more active than off-topic now :-/
But we need to promote the forums if we want more members soon... The only new members coming here are either old members, multis and idiots :p

And yet, complaining about spam and idiots does nothing to help.

Really, all it does is scream to potential members "Hey, this place sucks!"

Of course, getting a survey off current members lets Mods/Admins/Users know what areas people really want changed.

I find it interesting that the most popular options are: "to many idiots" and "not enough people". Doesn't that contradict? [Or something? :p]

Well, I chose not enough people, but I kind of like it that way... I said this on the anniversary thread, but since there are only like a couple hundred people, you know, we're all sort of closer together. After a while, you start seeing the same people over again. That beats those forum communities with millions of members. I like that.

I voted 'not enough members' but I wish I could change my vote to also vote for 'this forum is dying'. It pains me to say it, but I think it is.

Jesus Christ you're all a bunch of depressed emo corpses. The forums are not dying, in fact, statistically, they're operating near the levels we receive when an Oddworld game has been released.

I never said the forums are dying :-/ I Think they are fine, even though it seems like they are slightly less active than they have been... Plus alot of constructive meembers left.

It kinda sucks that OWI quit the gaming industry. Although it's good that they're still active.

OWF seems to be slowly dying to me , because OWI itself hasnt been very active , its mainly just the movie . Im sure OWF will be up and perky when the movie comes out . ;)

Well, it's definitely going to be up and perky, with a fresh wave of coming members, but I believe that OWF won't die until everyone here believes that it will die. I don't know if you'll understand what I mean, but we're all connected by one major thing, right? Even though we come from the most diverse backgrounds, we're still the same about one thing: we're passionate fans of the Oddworld Universe.

As an old member stopping in to see the old forums again I do think these forums have gone the way of the dodo!

Oddworld, the Oddworld we knew is dorment at this time if not extinct. Oddworld has changed and we just don't know anything. And it is sad but we move on. Ideas on Oddworld grow thin and hope lies in fancorner to keep us sane from loseing Oddworld forever. The only hope I have is the movies but a full length feature film can take up to three years to make because of all the special effects and stuff.

I think as long as their is a steady group of members or management, some interest in the "Old" Oddworld or any interest in the concept of Oddworld speculation or whatever, you'll see a few new members, you'll get a few annoying members, and you'll have a bunch of oldies still on this forum. Not to mention this forum has evolved several times and gone through multiple cycles just like life, as long as the management doesn't disappear I think we'll have this forum for a very long time to come.

It'll never die, it'll always live in my heart. I don't think I enjoy it as much as I did in the "way back", say 2 years ago, but this place still has plenty of members. If that Oddworld movie ever comes out this place will be jumpin'. Anyhow, I apologize for being a grognard and spamming up the place. Peace.

I've got to ask: Who were Dino and Wired? It sounds like a pretty infamous incident.

Dino was a real multi. Wired was a joke multi. That's all that needs to be said.

Neither is of any importance now though. Everyone's just trying to move on.

I think that the forum is a clean and safe environment. Everyone is so friendly and there are more users than ever. I say congratulations to the forum staff who made this place possible.

I think the forum here is fine. I haven't seen anything wrong with it. The moderators here seem helpful and nice, everyone i seem to come by are welcoming.

I found that half the people voted for "too many stupid people" was rather amusing..*LAWLz*

Pff. I wouldn't be saying, "More than ever" because you were only here a few months. Clean and safe environment? Who wants to be in a clean and safe environment? You just have to live a little.

I'm fine with the population. This is such a small forum that everyone, like, knows each other. Not literally, but metaphorically. I like it the way it is.
