Who other than me hates Munch??
Is their anyone that hates that fat ugly Gabbit other than me??
|
Probably not. Alot of people dislike the game, but Munch is cool by me.
|
He walks slow and talks like a retard. He is NOT cool!!
|
Munch is great. I don't understand the Munch hate, I really don't. He walks slow because he's an amphibian not a land creature. He talks different because he's aquatic, so he croaks. He can control machinery and fuzzles. Munch's Oddysee the game is average, Munch himself rocks. :)
|
Yeah, I see more reasons to like Munch than I see to like you so far, Glukinator.
This is an opinion based question that most people will all answer the same way. If you go about it less immaturely and provide some actual understanding to what you're asking of people (and possibly made it a Poll so people don't feel alienated to vote against you), then I'm sure you'd have a nice, sturdy topic. |
Who other than me hates Munch??
here I added a poll
|
What's to hate about that guy? He's adorble. I almost have half the mind to include gabbits in a fan fiction. (If, I want to that is. Typing isn't my thing, and I don't exactly like making useful, yet boring chapters.) Anyway, OWI probably wanted something orginal. Something to give a guy sympathy. There isn't a lot amphibian characters in the world.

To me Munch is cool, my worst oddworld game would have to be MO but i still like Munch
|
I thought you said you didn't want to see Munch again in the next video game pongyboy.
|
You're twisting what he said Glukinator. Just because he doesn't want to see another Munch game doesn't mean he dislikes Munch as a character.
|
Munch makes a great character with an interesting dilemma, thoughtful set of disadvantages and abilities, and a cute personality. Munch's Oddysee didn't do him justice. I think it's the game that stunted Munch's success more than Munch stunted the game's success, as Lorne and Ed Fries seemed to think in the X-Factor special.
|
I love Munch, his design I find very appealing, and he's a cute inhabitant, fits with oddworld very well. Before I knew what personality he had,I was excepting him to be a little bit more insane and crazy. True, Munch's Oddysee didn't show the full extent of what Munch was suppose to be.
|
I feel like Munch is the worst character that Oddworld Inhabitants have come up with so far...I mean, most of it is the fact that they had so much restriction in making Munch's Oddysee...
I really liked the design of Abe, with the complete alien-ness of him...I liked Stranger, because it's something that hadn't been seen in Oddworld before...I also liked the design for Fangus..I mean, the cat-like design...Because there's something to be said for bad-ass antiheroes...But Munch really lacked originality... |
I hated munch, he acts like a annoying retard

What..did you..say? I can't understand..you.......with all these.....pauses....you keep having..in..your........sentences... I don't know how anyone CAN dislike Munch. You must be pretty stupid to think that Munch lacked originality, he was such a great character! And when the release of Munch's Oddysee came out, Munch was no newer than Stranger was at the time of his release. |

It's a shame Munch's innocence and naïvity are taken for dumbness. His childlike wonder and heart are endearing qualities on top of being thoughtfully tailored to his backstory.

To me, Munch is just awfully CuTE. I am writing a fanfiction story about a Gabbit called Sami. I really don't see why you hate Munch so much...
And I think that I would really like to see Gabbits in the nest game. |
Munch is cool with me. I mean come on! He can control little furballs of doom :p!
|
Munch rocks. He's got a smart, sensible design, as opposed to other game aliens that look thrown together and make no sense. I love his voice, it sounds like a southerner mixed with a toad. There are many possibilities for Munch and the Gabbits.
But Munch's Oddysee wasn't near enough. |
I dont hate him. I think Munch is great but the game is rushed. So this created an annoyance which I said in another thread. And I dont want to repeat my self in case in considered as spaming of some sort. Lack of gameSpeak and good FMVs. I thought the newpaper movies were not much of an effort
|
I dislike Munch, I don't hate him. I don't want to see him in any future OW games either, unless thats vital to the quintoligy but I doubt the guy could do anything, as he hardly did anything in MO to begin with.
And why... on earth... are people saying that thing is cute and adorable?! It's ugly and talks weird, how is that cute... Oh wait, babies are ugly and don't talk at all. I think I see the link, never mind! |
As many have already said; the game probably sucked, but Munch is - according to me - so cute:p

why on earth would you put that! :)

Munch isn't a human, so being an eighth of the way through his life wouldn't necessarily give him the mental capacity of a ten-year-old human. At two years old, he's a Gabbit teenager having completed metamorphosis from a Gabbiwog.
The reasons for his naïvity and innocence are probably just as much to do with his being exposed to races and cultures that are utterly alien to him, and not understanding what was going on. The only hint of this that made it to the game, though, was his abduction scene. |
Let me tell ya man...
Munch is one of the coolest, and innnovative characters, and is Abe's other half. He embodies a sense of lonliness in the gaming world and proves that an average joe can make a difference. Have you ever wondered what would happen to an animal that was the last of his kind? Show the little guy some respect. And hey, Abe likes him too: Their buds! By the way, his voice is awesome :) |
If MO was everything it was meant to be... Lorne envisioned him to become as iconic as E.T. A tad too ambitious if you ask me.
He was supposed to have had adrenal steroid experimentation, so as Abe you could smack him around, and he would transform into a Gabbit-Hulk. The whole game was supposed to be one world, where you could travel all over, instead of the strict level divisions. Your Quarma would not just be based on rescuing scrubs and lab-animals, but keeping the environment in good condition. If you cause a toxic spill, the trees would die and the wildlife and natives would leave, useful if there was a large population of scrabs in the vicinity, but they would rampage and stampede on their way out, destroying villages that you have helped to establish. Munch would have led fuzzles and other creatures to hidden places where he would heal them and raise them into a formidable force. Abe would gather Mudokon forces and they would prepare for revolution. You wouldn't just persuade your friends to help you at the end by having good quarma, you would have gathered them yourself in prep for attack. Food resources and all other parameters would be tracked by the game, dictating the population of different species and their reaction to you. You would ride airships, arrange storm-circle assaults on industrialist facilities and possess sligs to warn the natives of impending attack. The game would have been completely genre-busting and amazing, as you cut your own path in the storyline, all the while actually completing the story, as you wait for Munch's broken leg to heal so he can become more independant. Abe and Munch's relationship would quickly deteriorate during the game, as Munch's attempts to make Abe believe his abduction story fail, and Abe's attempts to rescue Sam and the eggs are befouled by Munch's dejected uncooperation. If MO had been half the game it was supposed to be, then the whole electronic entertainment world would know the name "Oddworld". Unfortunately, even the power of the Xbox could not contain Lorne's vision, and the code was crippled. And don't say that Munch is badly designed. He is one of the most original characters ever concieved. |
Yeah , munch is cool! and adorabable .
Sugar spice and everything nice. These were the ingredients to create the perfect little ....uh..gabbit . But professor utonium accidently added another ingredient CHEMICAL X!!! ( dun dun duun ) * big explosion * Hence ..... munch was born! Using his new found super pow...... sorry , ill shuttup now. But munch is a good character , he's original , and likeable , and im sure all the other gabbit chicks dig him. :p |
What Gabbit chicks? They're all extinct, remember :p
|
Oh , uh , yeah . They were .... uh ......ghost gabbit chicks . they .....
okay , so I made a mistake , my bad :p |
Wouldn't that mean that, to repopulate the species, the gabbits from the can would have to do something nasty and incestual?
|
Yeah, but because they're in the same can doesn't mean they were in the same family. Munch needs to fertilize them, but they have their own set of unique DNA from their mothers. If Gabbits lay many eggs at one time, then most incestual problems would be eliminated in a few generations.

I think they were already fertilised, and collected after spawing in Ma'Spa. The refridgeration prevented them from developing, as the cold slowed the metabolism of the embryos.
Of course, he needs to find a can opener before he could hatch them at all. Many endangered species face the problem of inbreeding. Animals like pandas, whatever we do, they are all going do die out from congenital diseases. Its awful, but like every single human-caused environmental problem, we acted far too late. there is also the issue of the genes in Pandas that are now activating, and exist in every living species: The extinction gene. That's right, there is a genetic countdown in every secies, including Homo sapiens sapiens that wipes out each species after a spree on earth, that can only be reset by evolution. |
