Confessions Tour

Madonna is touring at last! I've been waiting for months for her to release the dates for the Confessions Tour! Albeit she isn't the most innovative musician, I love her music, and I love her to bits.

Yet Australia isn't even on the list. Dammit.

You know, since she's suddenly talking with a phony english accent, you'd think she'd atleast do you aussies the courtesy of coming on over and putting on a mediocre show.

What a trollop.

e d i t : Before any dumb-dumbs start asking what england has to do with Australia, crack open a damned history book.

Havoc 04-03-2006 11:31 PM

Madonna is coming over here in a few weeks... for anyone that cares... >_>

Sekto Springs 04-04-2006 09:23 AM

Madonna is a terrifying she-thing. Pure and simple.

nads 04-04-2006 02:19 PM

OH BOY! MADONNA!

I'll order tickets as soon as I run around the Earth a few times.

Leto 04-04-2006 08:08 PM

I adored 90's Madonna. It went to shit with the few previous albums, though.

I found her very annoying the two last videos release, they just sounded like generic dance. Not to mention, the woman needs to wear some damn pants.

Facsimile 04-04-2006 08:23 PM

Alcar you really do have some odd tastes.

Nate 04-06-2006 08:30 AM

I've said it before and I'll say it again: OMFG Alcar you are so gay*.

Not that I'm such a good judge, seeing as I hate Madonna, her music, her style, her personality and the fact that she is massacring my religion with her quasi-kabbalistic cult.

Seriously though, if you've ever seen her perform live (which I have on tv at a few awards shows and a concert that she televised) she can't sing for shit. She was totally flat and hardly hit any of the notes. Seriously, I can sing better than that cow.

*Just to point out before I get accused of being homophobic; the word 'gay' is here used as a complement, in a hopeful sort of way.:p

Alcar 04-09-2006 01:38 AM

Madonna is the Goddess and I don't care what any of you say :p

I've not been in person to any of her concerts, but I've seen plenty of them over and over again on DVD. I particularly like her Drowned World Tour. I love her previous stuff (way old old old stuff), and I loved her recently with American Life, and I suppose my loving of anything disco / party / trance / dance / electronic made me fall in love with her again when she released Confessions on a Dance Floor.

My friends and I are seriously considering flying over to the UK to see her in concert if she decides not to come to Australia. She better come here though. She promised she would if she went to Japan again, and she is! I'm not going to be very happy with her if she skips down under :p

Please don't like Madonna. It hurts me deep inside when people like Madonna. Seriously. It feels like pins and needles in my intestines.

I thought you had that feeling all the time, OANST.

That's because somewhere someone is liking Madonna at all times. Be kind. Save my bowels. Hate Madonna.

outlaw king 04-10-2006 12:51 AM

Yeh sure they colonized us but most of the settlers come from the irish convicts they brought over here. the rest of us are either fobs or migrants from way back.
the last thing most Australians want to hear, is a pommy accent coming from that old battleaxe. It's bad enough trying to kick the real poms out of the country. Dressin up like they're the biggest surfies n flauntin their $2000 louis vuitton bags. All while complainin that they have no money...

Sekto Springs 04-11-2006 11:01 AM

Finally! Someone with a good taste for music!

Why do I always miss out on the good threads:fuzemb: .

I love Madonna. The old and the new Madonna. I really like Push, Ray of Light, and Frozen.....And Hung Up...Basically all of her songs are exellent, IMO:p .

Yeah Alcar, I might be going to the Confessions Tour in Phoenix on the 8'th of June! I'm very exited!

You're SO lucky :(

It seems everyone I know has suddenly become richer and are flying to England to see her in concert.

Alcar...

Cullen Heath 05-20-2006 11:52 PM

If you were closer (In AZ), I would definately love to take ya, but unfortunately, that's not the case.

So, some of the people that you know "in person" are going? Why don't you tag along?

Alcar 05-20-2006 11:58 PM

I quit my job three weeks ago, and have been in poverty for the entire duration :p

Alcar...

Cullen Heath 05-21-2006 12:07 AM

Aww, man. Harsh!

Why did you quit, and what was your job? Is there another job availabe that you might be eyeing?

(Sorry for going a little Off topic)

theoryseventeen 05-23-2006 07:21 AM

I'm not one of those that would pay money to see Madonna in concert i'm afraid! Frankly, that "Hung Up" video with *those* tights, it scared me half to death ;)

Alcar 05-23-2006 07:34 AM

There is the small possibility that Madonna will tour here after her Japan visit. Yay!

I quit my job because I didn't like my new manager. And because he was about to fire me for purposely not turning up to work and opening the store - I had more important matters to attend to. Spending a day in the city! Yay! :p

Cullen Heath 06-06-2006 12:38 PM

ALCAR! I'M GOING!!!

My mother and I are going to the Confessions Tour to see Madonna live on June 8'th in Glendale, Phoenix, AZ!

I just now (5 mins ago) bought the tickets on eBay. I got them for 370.00! Expensive...

Anyways, we're in section front CCC, right next to the left Catwalk!

I really hope that you're able to go. If not, I'll buy ya something. And if she actually IS signing stuff, I'll try to get your item signed for you.

soulstice 06-06-2006 12:43 PM

Actually, you have to hand it to her. Madonna is one of the most famous women in the world and you can't say she hasn't worked her arse off to get there.

I have so much respect for Madonna. I may not like her music, but she's still a legend.

Cullen Heath 06-06-2006 07:55 PM

Agreed 100%, she sure is!

I can't wait to go. How much do you think things will be sold for there?

God, allmighty. I didn't realize it was possible for one single person to be so incredibly lame. Congratulations, sir. You have finally proven me wrong about something.

Fez 06-07-2006 02:44 AM

I'm not really into her. Mirwais wrote a few songs for her, perticulary on the album thats got Hollywood on it. He's a dude so she gets some respect for working with him.

Alcar 06-07-2006 04:30 AM

Oh. My. GOD.

I am so envious Cullen! I'm praying she tours down under after she stradles Japan.

Nate 06-07-2006 07:29 AM

Eh, I watched a countdown of the top 25 video clips of all time last week and there was one of Madonna. I forget which song - it was the one where she witnesses a rape, a black guy gets blamed and then, for some reason, she gets stigmata. Which was interesting for a number of reasons. Number one; I remembered the clip from when I was about five or six and they cut the clip short rather than show the blood on her hands. Number 2: It reminded me that Madonna used to be good. Same deal with Michael Jackson, who had a few clips in the list and Thriller at #1.

You can reply to this but remember, you won't be getting a reply because I'm not going to sink to your level.

I'm leaving this one.

OANST 06-07-2006 11:40 AM

I win again. Hurray! Three chears for me!

Abecrazy 06-07-2006 04:15 PM

I love Madonna.
I always have since I was 8 or 9 and heard her song Holiday for the first time.
I love her music but sometimes SHE got on my nerves. There are a couple songs I'm not to crazy about but I would say 98% of her stuff rocks.
I would love to go see her but I think her tickets are WAY to expensive.

Someday....

Cullen Heath 06-09-2006 11:58 AM

Hello, all!!!

I had an amazing time!:p
Madonna is the best preformer, and made it a blast!

I got home this morning at 2:00 AM, and just woke up. It's now 11:00 AM.

She changed the songs around a bit, but I liked hearing them in different versions. This is basically how she did it:

First, she did "Get Together", basically the same way it is on the album, just with a few minor changes like repeating lines in the wrong places. But it sounded really cool, and was a great opening

Then, she did "Future Lover", and had these amazing backup dancers. That wasn't changed much at all, either.

Then she had a little mixture of "Let It Will Be" and "Forbidden Love". She kinda finished off One song and went straight into the other, with out any change of clothes or anything.

After all that she talked to the audience. Asked them how it was going, and then said "Good, cause the show has JUST BEGUN! Come on, Phoenix. I want you to Jump up and down!" And of course, she sang "Jump". The song had No changes in it. It was very similar to the way it was sung on the Album. Straight after that song, she went into "Sorry", with many modifications. This song had some stuff at the beginning of it, that I didn't even recognize, but it was an awesome preformance.

Then she sang "Like A Virgin", and "Ray Of Light", which were not changed, I think just because they are old songs. Personally, I love these two songs, so these were great to see her sing!

I think it was "Like It Or Not" that she did after that. But I do know that right in the last ten secs of that song, she flipped off the whole audience:p !

Then she spoke to the Audience again saying: "Hey, Glendale! Nothing's f***ing going right so, make sure to dance, so I know that you love me!":p

Then she sang "How High", and "I Love New York". And she changed a few lines completely in "I Love New York", by saying:
"If you don't like my attitude, then you can F*** OFF!!!(Really loud) Just go to Texas, and SUCK GEORGE BUSH'S D***!!!" I thought that was so funny, and great that she got the message out to so many people!

Then she said: "I have one request! At this point in the show, I'm f***ing dripping with sweat! Will the air managment PLEASE turn off the AC? I thought it was suppossed to be f***ing hot in Arizona!" Then everyone cheered, and whatnot. Then she introduced Isaac...

...and they went on to some songs including "Isaac", and some others with him, that I think were made specially for the tour. In the song "Isaac", Isaac sang many different chants, instead of the one in the song.

And last, as the closing song, she did my personal favorite, "Hung Up"!!!
She changed this one around A LOT, and made it very long, but only sang very little of the songs Lyrics. It was mostly the Chorus, that was just sung over and over. BUT, the coolest part about this song, is that she had everyone dance and sing for about 10 mins! 10 mins of all those people chanting: "Time goes by. So slowly." Repeating it over and over.

Over all, the concert was exellent, and I had the time of my life!!!:)

Oh, go Medawnna.

Leto 06-09-2006 09:11 PM

@ Cullen: She didn't even play Frozen? Shite. Sounds like a terrible concert to me. D:

Alcar 06-09-2006 11:20 PM

She's not allowed to anymore. Lawsuit against it, no one is allowed to play it, radio stations, etc.

Awwwww thats sounds really awesome Cullen! I wish I could have been there :D

Slig_Cake 06-09-2006 11:33 PM

madonna has my respect back after seeing those comments about george bush and after hearing that awesome 'sorry' beat remixed to perfection at my club. 10/10 for madonna. Still wouldn't want to sit through her concerts though...
