Who would you like to see in the next games????
Who would you like to see in the next game(s)

Squeek.......

Abe, Stranger or some other new character. Not Munch...
|
Same, i wouldn't like to see munch again (no offense munch lovers)
|
Steef ;) , And i hope they dont introduce yet another creature
|
As long as the new character sin't somethnig like Fangus or Stranger, I' mfine. I'd liek a new guy whos original, Abe, or munch (why all the Munch hate?) to return, maybe Stranger. The reason I dislike Stranger is because he is what Oddworld is not about-big gu yheroes with ugns. As Lorne said, its about the little guys. Bring back Abe and Munch and introduce the new guy partway through ME if it is ever made, then give the new hero his own Oddysee and Exoddus.
|
Abe. He rocks, and he started it all with Abe's Oddysee. Nothing like replaying AO.

In combination with old characters, such as they did with Munch Oddysee. But not 'stand alone'. That will just get anoying IMO.
|
I would like to see an origanal character again. Would anyone like to see a game about a slig or a glukkon?

I want to see a game with an original character. I'm tired of pairing up characters, because you end up using one for everything.
In MO, nearly every level where you controlled the duo together, you would use Abe to accomplish things. He can jump, move quickly, defend himself, possess baddies, and call the aid of mudokons. Munch can't jump (even in his wheelchair he can't hold a candle to Abe's dexterity), yeah he can swim but that's usually just to find a non-traditional way to grant access to a path for ABE, and yes Munch can use the help of fuzzles, but they're small, relatively weak, hard to come by, and cannot be upgraded into warrior-class critters. Stranger was fun because you were the lone wolf. Go in heads first, guns blazin', no back up, and still clear the area. When you get to the end of the level there's no concern of "Oh f*cknuts! I left my crippled buddy at the entrance!". Cooperation can be fun, but only in moderation, and only when your conterpart is as nimble or as close to it as you are. |
*cough*Ico*cough* Of course, it was better done than Munch. I'm not trying and compare the two, but Ico is a case of a nimble hero clearing the way for a 'crippled' companion.
ON-TOPIC: I'd like to see Squeek. Actually, as long as it's not Fangus or something else generic, I'd be happy. And Dipstikk for Dev! *waves flag* |
Except that Ico was called ICO, whereas Munch's Oddysee should have been about Munch more than Abe.
|
Abe or Stranger. Those games were the best so far. Munch was great to, but not as much as them.
~DS~ |
Abe rocks. AO had a dark, mysteriousness that was lost as thehumour developed. The humour rocks, but the darkness needs to come back. I think that was Stephen Olds' influence. They need to combine the Stanger environments and species with more of the older ones. As for Munch- that was going to be a much better game than it was. Technical difficulties crippled it. Maybe they will remake it on the newer consoles in the future, as it was originally concieved.
|
It's sad how little people like Munch. :s
I thought I'd like to see Abe the most, but when I was pondering it more, sligs are more important to me. |
:
I really want to see Abe, Munch & Squeek in the next game, but I don't want Stranger's story to disappear. I definately want to see him return in the future. |
:
Squeek, i want to see squeek oddysee |
stranger is the one I like to play with the most...
but that's just me ;) I don't realy know what I'd prefer if they make another game |
I would like Abe with some sort of anti-industrial Slig. Then Abe could use possession which is the best part of Oddworld and the Slig could use guns + flying suit. Maybe a major part of some levels would be finding the right clothing for the Slig and maybe Sam + Skillya could get involved
|
A slig swithing pants and weapons can be intresting for a next game indeed :)
sounds a bit like what was planned for MO |
Anyone except Stranger, I like Stranger as a character and what he's capable of, but his design and cowboy outfit I don't like, I sort of want it to be gone. I would like a more oddworldly hero. But to be truthal, I don't care what character is in the game, but what the game is, the game realy depends on what character you play as. Like, it would be difficult to imagen Abe as an FPS character.
So, I think the question we are suppose to ask ourselfs, what charatcer can deliver a good game? I believe all three are capable, even Munch could do something, but it realy depends on gameplay and game design. Mabey if Roid made it, we get something more special. I think having a new character would be a great choice for OWI, but I realy want the quintology back. |
I waould like to see Abe's "universe" combined with Stranger's "universe". More than just two old creatures (Fuzzle and Vykker) but sligs meeting Clakkerz etc. That's what I put in my fan fic.
I think it would be cool if a forumite's creation was selected to be a new official character/creature. I think it would be even cooler if that forumite was me... |
there would be some copyright problems, and I'm pretty sure Lorne has a lot of ideas on his own.
|
I hope, there will be a new Steef character. Maybe a female one :D Fancy that! A female hero  *pie in the sky*
|
I'd love to have Abe in the next game, but I don't really want to see Munch and Stranger. Munch was my least favorite part of the last game, and Stranger kinda goes against Lorne's original quote about video game characters. It's not that I don't like them both, but Munch was more of a liability in MO and I didn't get very attached to Stranger.
|
Marchello brings up a good point. The thing about 'Roid though is that it seemed too cartoony and platformy to just turn into a hulking Jekyll when needed, beat the tar out of slig bouncers wacking at your foot with a baton.
After the horrific crapfest that was introduced to us as Munch's Oddysee, I think they should do all they can to steer away from that gauche style of gameplay in the next Munch installment (and remove that incessant bouncing noise that Munch's foot made that slowly chipped away at your sanity). I believe Munch is a great character, and has all the potential to make a great, dark, refreshingly twisted Oddworld game. A game where you actually DO have a broken leg and are confined to a wheelchair, where fuzzles are more plentiful and don't look like furry hamburgers, where you squeek into Vykker ORs when they're in mid surgery with a blood-soaked mass of tissue pulsating on the operating table, where masked Vykker doctors chuck scalpels at you and come at you with Fuzzle Buzzes and Nodelypokers, but no, Sherry McKenna has to play Gandhi. |

"A huge hairy egg machine"? Why that? :fuzconf:
|
Because Sam + Skillya are big + they are the only known females
|
No. There is Maggie the Glukkon Queen and Frayda the Grubb rebellion leader.
|
Ok, I have never played MO. Is Lady Margaret fat?
|
Playing MO wouldn't matter much when identifying female characters, the queens weren't featured in it.
There is a picture of Maggie somewhere on TOGG, and no, she is not fat. Sam is, but Maggie is not. |

Maggie's pretty fat in The Art of Oddworld Inhabitants. There are two known designs for her, just as there are two completely different designs for Meetles.
Not forgeting all the other female Grubbs and Clakkers, plus Jo' Mamma. |
Woooooaaah!!!!
THAT'S a woman? I mean, is that a woman??? :eeek: My image of a female oddworld hero is more... uhm... handsome. |
Oh, you mean like those lady Clakkers were?
|
 No :p. By no means my female hero were a Clakker. No chicken nuggets in the hero's world
She may were a Mudokon or a Steef. Steefs rule :D |
:
Actually, Sam is the only mudokon with an actual gender. The many children she births (Abe included) are sexless. |
