NotPron - The Hardest Riddle on the Internet
 

I remember a loooong time ago we used to have a NotPron thread. It's prolly in Necrum now though, so I'm recreating it.

Okay, for anyone who doesn't know it:

NotPron, the hardest riddle on the internet. It has 138 stages to beat, and you will get an official certificate when you manage to beat the game. The puzzles take a lot of logical thinking, searching, editing, ect. The answer can be hidden absolutely ANYWHERE on the internet. Yes, ANYWHERE. You will often have to refer to Google to get past a stage.

Since I'm sure there will at least be a few people here who will try it, I want to ask anyone else not to post any spoilers or solutions to the puzzles. That takes all the fun away. Spoilers are available for this game, so also be carefull when googling for the answer. You don't want to run into a spoiler :P.

You may ask for help here, and you may provide help in the form of hints. NO DIRECT ANSWERS!

Oh my god, not this game again. I made it to level 22 before giving up

I only made it to level 13 I think. It was the one with the guitar. Goddamn this game is hard. I wracked my brain for weeks on this bastard.

Damn this game is hard.

I'm at level 12 now, been at this one for hours and I can't seem to figure it out >.<

I've seen what I'd consider harder puzzles/riddles online.

I know DevArt set up a crude chat-room based one, where you go from room to room solving puzzles (of course it was based on NP. I believe level 3 was Morse Code).

I remember getting to "don't be so negative" and eventualy getting past it and a few more levels. I wouldn't have the time to try again. My mind's disconnected enough as it is.

I don't get it. Is it like Mist orsomething? Do I have to put my cursor on a certain object to advance? O.o

Nope. That's why it's hard. Play with stuff on your computer. You'll figure it.

Depending on what level you are, you have to think out of the box to advance. The only way you can cheat is by looking up the answer in walktroughs. Next to that, there are no rules whatsoever, so go nuts ;).

Ya well i'm in level 2 right now and I still can't figure it out. I get what your saying though. Maybe I should stop now to save myself from frustration >.>.

I couldn't figure how ter open the odd-damn door, so I gave up.

I usually do but it;s just to conufing. So we browse the internet to make the door open correct? Or am I wrong?

Try looking at the hints. They'll point you in the right direction without telling you exactly what to do. Let's just say that clicking won't do aught in level 2.

GRAH! I have been fiddling with the URL bar with possible stuff but I cant get it! God I HAVE to see if my dad can do this.

EDOT: YES! I got it!

I'm at level 5 so far, but I have no idea what I should find in the source code

EDIT: nvm I got it. IT is NOT what you might think it is. Think about the "Stop being so negative" thing and look at a certain part of the url ;).

My friend managed to pass all 16 (HARD) levels.

metroixer, that's where I first got stuck.

"Don't be so negative"... ugh, it's so OBVIOUS looking back.

Of course, once you know the answer it seems damn easy. When you're trying to solve it it's pure frustration.


(NOTE: As a player of "Myst", "Myst III: Exile" and "Myst Uru" I would like to stat that notpr0n is NOTHING like Myst. In Myst it's hard to even FIND the puzzles)

Yeah, only problem is, is that it's not making any difference! Exactly what does gototheothersite and apositive code or key have to do with anything?

Try seeing what the picture is flashing at you for that one milisecond. Once you have made out what it says, concentrate on the URL. Maybe use a similar trick like you used to get on this page in the first place?

Prepare yourself for level four. That's where it begins getting harder.

He ain't kidding. Level 4 got me stuck for a while. (Though i'm really near completing it thanks to some help ;))

Level four has got something to do with an old way of communication still sometimes used in the navy or military...

Hehe... I might try this out again :p... Im at lvl 7 right now, but it's been easy cos i did them before... I don't really remember how far i got before, but oh well...
Yea and level 4 is a bit annoying. I have a friend who didn't even know what morsecode is... Not even after googling it O_o
