Fave oldies?
Well, if you used to or still play Old games, then please post your fave here :)
My all-time favourite games are Jazz Jackrabbit, which i spendt hours playing when i was a lil' kid. It's a game about a green rabbit who has to defeat some evil turtle and save a princess. But don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds like :P I also played Comand and Conquer, which i think all of you know. I loved being the scorpion, since they had the coolest weapons and vehicles. My favourite colour is also red, and my zodiac is the scorpion. Oh yea, and Wolfenstein is a classic. :) |
Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Best Sonic game ever.
Vectorman was also a Genesis classic. And Super Mario World 3. Fun like a biznatch. Plus... YOSHI! |
Worms. I still love that game, it's still fun nowadays espiecially in mulitplayer . It cracks me up too :p
|
Primal Rage.
This was the first game I had ever played, and I've always loved it. My fav characters were Talon and Vertigo. |
:
:
The early Mortal Kombats (1 and 2) ruled. Street Fighter is inferior to Mortal Kombat. Muahaha! BAH! I'll just give the list: Rise of the Triad Duke Nukem Dungeon Keeper 1 and 2 Chomper (Pacman ripoff) Harvest Moon Oddworld (Hey, it's almost a decade old now http://oddworldforums.net/images/smilies/d_tongue.gif) More later when I can think. |
:
As for old games, Earthworm Jim was fabulous, as was Final Fantasy 7. :
|
:
Aso, the Neverhood and Skullmonkeys pwned all. |
:
Sonic 2 was my second fave and Bio Hazard rocked them all. The problem is... I sold my sega megadrive.:p |
My kind of thread. I like contra 3, that game rox. Jurassic Park isn't that bad and Itchy and Scratchy game.:) I Love that game.

Anyone ever played Boogerman or Cool spot? Boogerman is funny and cool. Coolspot is pretty cool, I like how they use 7Up signs for lives.
|
:
I loved Coolspot! Unfortunately, I was forced to rent it over and over again, because my parents and I could never find a place that sold it. I eventually settled for the crappy ass pseudo-3D sequel, "Coolspot Goes to Hollywood." That game sucked. But the first one rocked! Man, that toy store level was effin' hard, though. |
Coolspot? I remember that game, really good for it's time, I loved it to bits. Alas, it's all gone. Other favs were Medievil 1 and Gex 2 and 3.
|
:
These three games stand out among others: -Earth Worm Jim -Donkey Kong Country 2 -Super Mario World |
My favorite semi oldie would have to be Goldeneye N64.
|
Donkey Kong 2 was awesome. I liked SMW, I still play it just to get thje secret easter eggs, i do that for DK2 also. Alien vs. Predator for SNES is awesome to.
|
:
|
SPOILER WARNING: if you haven't ever played SMW please do not read, please read if you've played and gotten the secret, or you just don't care.
When you beat Special with all those werid names like "Far out" or, "awesome" (Not werid, every Koopa you meet will have a werid Mario head and the map screen will have a western look. Thank you for your time. |

So, in no particular order, here's some the old games I like (and have) that I still play: -Command & Conquer (once again, same as you I liked the scorpion side) -Jazz Jackrabbit (I don't have the first anymore, sadly, but I still have the second) -Descent -Dark Reign -Rayman - |

My favourite old games are: - The Sonic series (I still have the Master System games I had of them, but I never had a Megadrive so the Sonic Mega Collection has been one of my best friends lately) - Gain Ground - Golden Axe Warrior - Wonderboy 3: The Dragon's Trap (Holy shit this game was amazing) And possibly more. |
I loved most Megadrive games. Back then I never played a bad game.
Oh and also, Vib Ribbon was cool (although it's not that old). |
Ah yes, I forgot.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert. |
Wolfenstein - The my first game of PC
Doom - Also Jazz Jackrabbit - Nice Game Tomb Raider - I am very scary when I was little :P I forgot someone...When I have memory i post here |
Oh how I love mangled English.
|
:
Btw, i call them the scorpion, because i was used to calling thme that since i was a kid, and didn't know they were called NOD. I know very well that they are called NOD and GDI  :
Not worth buying :( http://gameboy.ign.com/objects/490/490805.html |
:
:
And if you want to be really picky it's actually the Brotherhood of Nod. |
Duke Nukem 3D FTW! :D I found that in the deep depths of my hard drive last week, the full game is only 50MB and IIRC, the engine is freely distributed now.
MSN me if anyone wants it ;) |
I loved Duke Nukem 3d. And Duke Nukem 2, for that matter. But DUke Nukem was ruined when the supposed 'Duke Nukem 3D' came to GBA. It sucked :p. But meh, mindless playing.
|
Diablo II LoD and Starcraft/Broodwar. As well as Fallout, Fallout 2, and all the usual megadrive (genesis) games. Especially those side scroller aircraft shooters.
|
Believe it or not, I actually play a LOT of Atari (Pitfall, Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, many others that I don't feel like listing). And by a lot, I mean at least 20 hrs a week of it.
I still play N64 (Donkey Kong 64, 007, Monster Rampage 2, Poke'mon Puzzle League) and SNES (Alien Vs. Predator). |
Planescape Torment. I still stand by the fact that this is the best RPG if not game ever. Closly followed by Fallout/2. Go buy it. All of you.
|
Shout outs for Crash Bandicoot, Street Fighter, Mega Man, Mortal Kombat, Metal Slug, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtes, Streets of Rage, Doom, and Spyro.
Edit: 3 More sweet games Golden Axe Banjo Kazooie Original Conker Soul Blade Tekken |
I recently purchased a PSone (for $60, what a steal! :D), so I've been reliving all of my good ol' jagged-edged memories. I will give you the list now:
Chocobo Racing Mortal Kombat (3, Trilogy, 4) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Unholy War Oddworld (Shut the hell up!) Music Generator (Hey, I actually never knew you could make your own riffs. Gonk!) Yeah, more soon, mabye. |
TIME CRISIS.
\o/ |
Warcraft 2 and Quake 2 are propably the first games I played. Megaman and Turtles on Nintendo 8-bit, but my favourite is propably Curse of the Monkey Island

My first memory on PC gaming is Prehistorik. The caveman jumping around and clubbing dinosaurs... Later, I used to play Prehistorik 2, it was better than the first one.
Then I can remember playing Wolfeinstein 3D when I was around 6 years old, I couldn't get through many of the soldiers, but I found the game last year, amongst Doom I and II... id made a lot of great games. And there's Day Of The Tentacle, one of my favourite adventure games, next to Woodruff and the Schnibble of Azimuth. |
I love super mario world for the nes and super mario bro's for the first nintendo and super mario 64, I also like killer instincts for nes and n64 and well pong and galaga for atari and the first two abe games and who can forget goldeneye for the n64.
|
Head over Heels for the ZX Spectrum. You played two dogs who were trapped in a house & you had to solve the puzzles to escape. The dogs had different abilities & if you got them into the same room, they could stand on each others heads & have enhanced abilities. Good fun!
