New version of Actra. Also the last one. ...For now. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v14/dipstikk/Alf.jpg It's ALF! Everyone's favorite Mudokon spokesperson. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1.../Alfcolors.jpg It's ALF again! Everyone's favorite Mudokon spokesperson. Again. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v14/dipstikk/Abe.jpg It's that Abe guy! ...Yes, Abe. You. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...w_design_2.jpg Another shot of Actra in her coursette. |
Sweet! The new Actra really ruleszorz. Especially the stubby hands. And corsetry - Huzzah! :D
Abe's looking pretty pissed off in that picture. Alfs all like, "The OW government needs YOU!". |
:
Now that I think about it, visual refrences wouldn't be a half-bad idea. Edit: Oh, okay. I thought you said courtesy, like the ladie's bow. But yeah, anyone who's confused as to what a corset is, it's right there. |
these are great!! Actra looks so cute in the last pic. and abe looks kindda creepy mad O_o; but its still really good!:D
|
Sweet, dude. Very sweet.
I like Alf best, i don't know how you did it, but he's got these "hypnotizing" eyes... |
Sweet! Except, Alf kinda looks like he gotta botched jaw surgery... but NOBODY CARES!!!
Anyway, I'm loving Actra. Fabulous design, so very, very odd... :D |
Awesome drawings, Dipstikk! Actra looks really creepy, but in a good way. ;) Good job- I love the Alf pics the most. ;)

Thank's everyone. I did a facial study for Actra. |
Woah....nice! I saw that in your Actra fanfic thread and I must say that I think it's amazing! :D Man, her angry face is scary!
|
Yes, I meant corsetry as in a corsette. Evil and angry Actra is coolzorz. I really love the new body design.

|
Sweet! These are amazing pics, I give that colour comp. of Actra a 10, amazing talent there Dipstikk. Keep it up!
|
Great work, Dipstikk!! The color comp. looks even more detailed than your other pics (Maybe it's because of the color?)-they're all fantastic! *gives them all two thumbs up* :D

BAH :p
Wouldn't Actra take a while to draw now, with the huge hand stubb wing things, and the actual wings? They take the most time, right? Actra kicks ass. |
Yeah, the wings are pretty elaborate. They become easier to draw the more you do it.
|
Those wings make me twitchy. They have too many joints. *is guessing Actra isn't actually a flying flying creature any more...*
|
Well, I don' think so. The structure of the wings might be hollow bones(as in birds) or tendons(I dont know if that's the word) and ofcourse skin.(Leathery, scaly, or plain human keratin.)
|
...I was referring more to the fact that there's even MORE joints and sticky-out-bits than Old Actra had, and there's no way she'd get off the ground - but then I get fernicketty about flying things, so go figure (case in point - dragons with teenytiny-ittybitty-wings, flying along like it's all nice and natural... ;) )
No offence, Dipstikk, just doing my duty as resident self-styled biologist ;) |
God damn My Browser, for deleting all o' my arguments.
For this I will only show my strongest argument that Noctero females (including Actra) can fly: Dipstikk kinda like sead it in his fan-fic. Well, for starters, Noctero females have huge wings while the males have shriveled wings and are fightless. The females do most of the hunting and the males protect the home.-Dipstikk |
I actually have grown to hate the wings. They're TOO elaborate, and the wrinkles are very hard to get right.
I'm going to redesign them tonight. |
That's really cool, Dipstik! I wish I can scan some of my drawin's on my comp. Plannin' on to soon, and can show you guys...
|
:
Hit me now. Just something easier to draw, simpler... I'm thinking, if it was a comic, one of those for each frame would become tiresome to draw. :/ |
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...2/Actra_up.jpg
I'm back, bitch! Changed the wings so there aren't so many joints. They're supposed to be bigger, but I suck at perspective still. |
|
Cool. Actra looks more clarified now, but I hope you just doodled her face a bit.
Otherwise: *starts shivering*. And Alf still looks as crazy as ever. I suppose you took his shot a bit from above? Cuz his legs look a bit tiny. But anyways, nice woik;). |
:
:
But yeah, Alf came out better in terms of how I wanted the perspective to look. |
:
|
I call that look "adventurous," but it might have another name.
|
Aaaw, Alf is sooo cute :) I wish i could get Mudokon-anatomy right... Oh well...

A Noctero deity named Hunter. He was fabled to have the most developed wings of any male Noctero, and was also a skilled warrior. In the comic, when Actra, Alf and Munch are killed by a scrab, they end up in Afterworld, Oddworld's afterlife. They are sent to the Land of Untimely Deaths where each is taught how to use the different powers they hold. Actra finds out about her role in the history of the Noctero and is trained by the Hunter to posess her enemies by manipulating the fluids in their body like puppetry. Posession, done the Noctero way folks! Alf meets the Wierdos and is taught the basics of Mudokon-variety posession Munch meets up with, of all people, the good doctors Humphrey and Irwin who, surprisingly, hold no grudges against the Gabbit and help him out if you can believe it. The two help teach Munch how to increase the power of his headport and how to harness the power to become Roid (Come on, I had to include him!). I have to design Afterworld, and a few of it's inhabidents too. Also: A Noctero Skull. Heh, Australopithecus meets the Wolf Man. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ActraSkull.jpg And the skin over the skull: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...Skull_skin.jpg Last of all: I traced a rendered image of Abe to practice my inking. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ed_smaller.jpg |
Great job on hunter! I really like that weapon he's wielding.
That skull with skin made me think, "Okay mom, I'll take out the trash." |
I must say, *pommy larf*, you really, really have anatomy down. Those skulls are mindblowingly awesome-ness.
The fact that you draw the skeletal structure and build off of that I find really gud. Many artists on this forum just, you know, draw, without any sort of actual structure, which bites them back in teh anus0r. <3 Dippy's werk. |
I actually draw the outer body first, then design a skeleton from that. I'm better at skulls than skeletons.
Thanks, guys. Next up: Humphrey and Irwin Vykker, a Mudombie, a picture of Pugsley, and Beavis and Butthead as Vykkers. |
Bravo, they're very good.
I'm particularly looking forward to the Mudombie. I've loved the idea of mudokon zombies since I saw a concept for them, I think, in the book. |

Great new Actra things. The first part of the mouth detail was disturbingly funny...
Just wondering, is the tongue thing a new idea implemented, or has it been planned for a while now? Go Actra + coursettrey! |
I had this idea since the comic I did where Alf posesses a fly.
