Couple more days!

If any of you are Star Wars fans a couple more days until the big day!

Mann I can't wait how many of you are going to the midnight showing of episode 3? Well I am with a bunch of my buddies and on top of that tickets for me only cost $5.00. And on top of that I will be graduating too.

Abe16 05-15-2005 08:37 AM

Oh yeah! i can't wait! I'm also going with some friends.

Kimon 05-15-2005 08:44 AM

The biggest thing I'm anticipating in the next few days is E3. Come on next-gen consoles! Whoo-hooo!

Umm.... Star Wars will be good too.

Oddish 05-15-2005 08:51 AM

I going to see ROTS aswell. It's where Anikan turns bad,so I would want to see how he turns to the darkside and becomes Darth Vader.

When is E3?

Blisterz Booty 05-15-2005 09:00 AM

Its kinda obvious how Oddish, but I dont wanna ruin it so Ill keep quiet. But me and my friends are going to watch all of the Star Wars movies and then watch ROTS at the midnight showing.

Kimon 05-15-2005 09:07 AM

E3 is the 17th - 20th, but the first day is a conference and not an Expo, so all the trailers and stuff will be shown from the 18th - 20th.

odd chick 05-15-2005 12:56 PM

I can't wait until Episode III comes out! It looks great, although some people have mentioned that they weren't sure about the acting in it *coughHaydenChristiansencough*. :/ But I'll still go see it anyway because it looks entertaining! :D

General Dripikk 05-15-2005 01:00 PM

It sure does look entertaing! I'm buying tickets!

Al the Glukkon 05-15-2005 03:25 PM

Yeah, I'm also more excited about the counsoles (Except for the 360 now).

Kimon 05-15-2005 03:49 PM

:

Yeah, I'm also more excited about the counsoles (Except for the 360 now).

Why's that? It's the only one that's had info released on it, and it looks like it'll have some stellar games.

Anyway, Episode III looks really cool. I read an article about in Time or Newsweek or something, and the critics said it was FAR better than the prvious 2. :D

Fuzzle Guy 05-19-2005 09:23 AM

I can't wait, but did anyone watch Sky News? they said that it wasn't any better than the previous two, and is a poor as the Phantom Menace.

I didn't see anything wrong with Episode 1, I do understand why peopel hate it, but I find it alright.

Oddish 05-19-2005 10:51 AM

I hear people options that episode 3 is the much better than the first two prequels. I think people didn't like Phantom Menace becuase it was too kiddish, but I liked it.

ROTS might dissapoint some people becuase it's been 30 years since people were woundering about the story how Anikan becomes Darth Vader, and it probably dosn't seem good to them. I think it should be good becuase it it's darker and has more gore, and an action packed dual on a lava planet. Or prehap that ROTS is missing something.

And ROTS is showing today I beleive, but I have too watch it on Sunday.

a flock of seagulls 05-19-2005 02:05 PM

meh, i was too late :( im just gonna wait till it goes to the dollar theatre and watch it there.

sligster 05-19-2005 03:43 PM

well, seeing as how all the Jedi get owned..... I'm definatly gonna see it... and enjoy it...

Fuzzle Guy 05-21-2005 12:03 AM

Sligster that was a slight spoiler, but I'm gonna see it this afternoon anyway, with BBS and a few other of my friends. We're watching TPM, AOTC, the we're going to see revenge of the sith, then we'll watch ANH, TESB, ROTJ (My Favourite... nothing to do with Jabba the Hutt being in it of cause)

That's not exactly a spoiler (well, to me anyway) because several reviews/interviews that I read (even some that were done around the time Episode I came out)said the exact same thing. :/ Honestly, I kinda liked Episode I-I thought it wasn't as good as the old Star Wars movies, but it was still decent, nonetheless, in my opinion.

Facsimile 05-21-2005 03:35 AM

I saw Episode III today. And while I'm not saying what I think is what you guys will think, as usually I look at movies in a totally different way, but apart from some of the love scenes, I'd say it owned the shit out of the Episode I and II.
The fight scenes rule.

***Spoilers***

The slaughter of the Jedis is sad...

***

Some of the acting of Anakin is pretty shit, especially the horribly cliche'd "Noooo!", but overall, I'd say he wasn't as bad as in Episode II.

the brew master 05-21-2005 04:30 AM

totaly agree with the above comment ^^.

it did indeed pawn 1 and 2 out the water and was much more action packed then 1 and 2 aswell.

The acting was improved but nothing spectacular...heck i'd go back and see it again just for the fight scenes.I couldn't help but laugh when the cliche "Noo!" came on but overall still a great film.

Dipstikk 05-21-2005 07:10 PM

I just saw it.

Spoilers...

What was the name of that giant beaked salamander that Kenobi rode?

Godlesswanderer 05-21-2005 08:01 PM

I know what creatures you mean, but according to the Star Wars Databank on www.starwars.com they don't exist.

Abe16 05-21-2005 08:17 PM

I saw yesturday. i liked the seen where General Greivious came in. I also liked the part where they fight Count Dukoo and where Aniken and Obi-wan fight.

big bro slig #1 05-21-2005 10:24 PM

Saw episode III today 4 and a half/5. Persimmon reality gave us tickets. I brought my storm trooper helmet. :p

Funniest part was when yoda walked into the room where he was about to fight Darth Sidious, lol, i liked what he did to the red guys.

Oh yeah, without even looking at them, that ruled.

I can't wait for the sequel.
:p

OANST 05-22-2005 02:24 PM

I would give it a six out of ten. About an hour and a half of the movie was great. The other hour was terrible. And did anyone see Boris Karloff as Darth Vader at the end? I kept expecting a guy in a white lab coat to rush in and scream "It's alive! It's alive!".

Oddish 05-23-2005 07:36 AM

Just saw the movie, I liked it, much better than the last 2.

*spoilers*

My favourte parts when Anakin turns evil, and the clone turn on thier the jedis, althought it was pretty sad. The fight scene was great, espeicaily standing on those platforms sinking onto the river of lava, and Aniken geting his legs cutt off and left helplesy to burn :D. The scene when Papaline fight Mace windu is pretty, the way he face changes to Soidus. And fight scene between master Yoda and Darth Sodius is cool.

I liked seesing Anikans burnt body layed on the table bieng reconstruced, and finaly his mask get's put on, but I would like it if it was longer and more tense with a more of a calm yet intersting spooky scarey music to go with it. I also think they should made Darth Vader speeches more and longer, and that reconstruction of Vader should've been longer too. I was disappointed with General Grevous fight, I was hoping it was longer and and he didn't seem that tougth and skillful, as in Clone Wars. And Lucas said were gunna see Grevous with out the mask, but I remember seesing his face. And I agree with the cliche'd part part vader shouting "Nooooo!!" The ending was good, because of thw way they blended it with A New Hope

Some scenes are cutt I think, but I do have a script of the whole movie :D It supposed to be heard what Qiu-Gon Jin is saying in the movie.

Fuzzle Guy 05-23-2005 09:26 AM

I thought it was cool when *Spoilers* Palpatine says exactly as he does with Luke, "Good, I can feel you anger"

The Younglings part was a bit shocking, it's almost as if Darth Vader is more evil as Anakin than he is when Dave Prowse and James Earl Jones play him in the Trilogy.

He shouldn't have killed Nute Gunray though, he just seemed so innocent when he was saying about the fact that the war was over and that he would live in piece, then Vader stabs it through him anyway.

At the end of the credits, it mentions a Javva the Hutt, was this Hutt in the movie (I hope so as Jabba is my favourite character, and I would liek to see a hutt) or was it just someone who ended up on the cutting room floor?

Do you see anything wrong with Lucas' writing talents, as if it wasm't for Lucas' writing talents, then we wouldn't have got as far as a new hope!

I expected to see a bit more of Grand Moff Tarkin, instead of just him standing next to Emperor Palpatine and Lord Vader.

Return of the Jedi is still my favourite Star Wars film, but is closely followed by Episode III. 4 & a half out of 5. (I thought Grevious was cheesy)

Oddish 05-23-2005 09:37 AM

*spoilers*

It's more Darth Vader who slaughters the young Jedis, not excactly Anikan. But yeah, that was kinda of a harsh thing to do.

And I think Dave Prowse dose do the voice of Darth Vader when he's wearing the mask, including episode 3.

Fuzzle Guy 05-23-2005 09:41 AM

Dave Prowse does not have as deep voice as James Earl Jones, and does not have an American Accent. Hayden Christenses is the body of Lord Vader.

*Spoilers*
Yes Oddish, I know it's more Darth Vader, I just couldn't think of any better way to separate the fact of a newborn Vader and an old Vader.

SeaRex 05-23-2005 07:59 PM

Grievous was an awesome character. The pseudo-Russian accent and the constant hacking and coughing made him absolutely... devious. Favorite Star Wars villain. Yes, I like him even more then Boba Fett.

Episode III was pretty good. One thing is for sure... it beat the living crap out of the first two films, those piles of filth. The only thing that really bothered me was the whole Darth Vader screaming a prolonged "NOOOO!!!" thing. That is so cliche. BLECH.

But yeah, pretty good movie.

paramiteabe 05-24-2005 07:46 AM

I thought the movie was great. It ties in with the original trilogy well. Now that ROTS is finnished it will be interesting to see all six films in order to see how it all plays out. Now I feel that the reason the prequels weren't as successful as the original trilogy is because we all seen Star Wars so much now that it doesn't amaze us anymore. Now I can easily understand how a person who has never seen Star Wars would view these movies in absolute amazement because they never seen it before.

I also found on the DVD version of Return of the Jedi at the very end where Luke sees the spirits of Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Anakin, that Anakin's spirit was replaced from Sabastian Shaw with Hayden. I thought that was a rather proper way to handle that. Also Naboo is in Return of the Jedi the DVD version aswell at the end celebration.

Jacob 05-24-2005 12:33 PM

I think that the films on a whole are overly hyped beyond belief. And there were some continuity issues (especially since it's not even mentioned that Anakin has any siblings in the first films, and yet suddenly at the end of RotS Luke's living with some random Aunty and Uncle).

I also liked the fact that (Spoiler)...

Emperor Palpatine was the person who actually created Anakin. I thought that was a rather jolly twist in the tale. Oh. Yes.

Oddish 05-24-2005 01:16 PM

That would explain some things, yeah it's a good thing they did that.

Naboo and Corascant were always in the Special Edition Jedi, because it was out not many months before Episode 1. I Only just got the DVD's after years of watching them on video, and Anakin still looks evil at the end of ROTJ in the second shot with him in.

Leto 05-24-2005 11:50 PM

Say it yesterday. It was ok. Not gory enough. Not dark enough. Meh. And Jarjar didn't die, what the **** is up with that?

Fuzzle Guy 05-25-2005 09:21 AM

*Slight spoilers*
Jar Jar is alright to be kept alive, but I think he should have been killed, because he is not any part of the trilogy, therefore, there is no reason for him to be kept alive. Maybe Jar Jar is one of the few people from Vaders childhood that Vader didn't kill, maybe he is still a senator, but works for Palpatine.

Did anyone notice Boss Nass at Padme Skywalkers Funeral

Mac the Janitor 05-27-2005 04:24 PM

Yeah I saw it opening night.

I went as Sheriff Benson and interviewed people dressed up. I even fought some dudes with lightsabers and got pwned. I captured it on video - watch it here:

http://sheriffbenson.com/toons/sots/starwars.html

But hahaha, this was my favorite scene in the movie:

*Padame brushing her hair on the balcony*

ANAKIN: You are...SO beautiful.

PADAME: It's only because I'm so much in love!

ANAKIN: Oh no, it's because I love you MORE!

PADAME: Well your love blinds you!

Almost word for word. I laughed so hard during parts that weren't supposed to be funny, so that is kind of a bad sign. Oh another one of my favorites:

PADAME: Oh Annie, hold me like you did back on Naboo!

But yes. Some REALLY bad writing, overall pretty good movie though. During the first half I was like ehh, this isn't that great, but then the second half was really great. Some scenes were very powerful and hit me hard, such as Vader pathetically screaming without limbs and Obi Wan watching (SO powerful), and when Yoda feels the effects of all the Jedi dying (drops his cane and almost faints), and the kids hiding in the Jedi Temple. Those made me actually feel something in Star Wars for the first time in a while.

Also I loved seeing the sly psychological manipulation Palpatine uses on Anakin. They executed that very well.

One of the big things I disliked was that the change from good Anakin to bad Anakin was so sudden. One minute he is enraged that Palpatine is a Sith lord and detests anything of the dark side, and the next minute he is killing little "younglings". I thought they could have planned that out just with his gradual thought process a bit better, it was WAY to sudden of a change.

BTW I've decided from now on I'm calling Anakin "Nubbins". Cos he is a Nubbins.

Dude, Sherrif Benson rules! "You will go to SherrifBenson.com, you will watch all the cartoons, and you will love them!". Ah, SOTS will now be a frequently checked section. Very amusing, well done Mac.

Yeah, I saw the movie yesterday. I thought it was a great movie, I even thought the action scenes were awesome, but some of the acting could've been WAY better. I, too, thought the 'love' scenes were a bit corny and both badly acted and badly written. And the cliched "Nooooo!!" really got to me, too. :/

And spoilers.........

There were scenes that really got to me emotionally, too, such as the defeat of the Jedi, Anakin catching on fire with Obi Wan standing and watching (virtually that entire scene got to me-including Anakin and Obi Wan's conversation right before it happened.), Anakin killing the 'younglings' and Padme dying.

Overall, though, I thought it was a great movie. (Except for those minor parts that I mentioned above.)

Mac the Janitor 05-29-2005 11:26 PM

Lol! Hahah, that was great. Did you make it yourself?

Yeah. Well like my friend filmed it, that's me in the costume. And then I edited it and put it together.

BTW is it just me or does "younglings" just sound way goofy?
