what type of game do you want oddworld to make next
 

hi if oddworld were to creat anoother game what type of game would it be I want then to create a car combat game it would be preety interesting

Car combat game? I can't imagine an OI car combat game. Care to elaborate?
I still wouldn't mind seeing if they could get a 3D version of Abe's Oddysee to work well, Munch's Oddysee was fine but not awesome. I loved the way you died in one hit in AO/E, if they could make a similar style of gameplay work in 3D I'd like to see it.

well for car combat they would have minecars the bus in dusky hollow from sw sekto's shield thingy the boat from sw except a rocket pack would go on there but even if oddworld did do a car combat game they would create cars

Car combat? Fighting? Racing? How about a Strategy game? Like they were already going to do (Hand of Odd). Those other choices wouldn't work for Oddworld at all. And I have no idea what a Car Combat game is. You mean like Crash Bandicoot Racing? :confused:

But enough of that.
Adventure, Action-Adventure, or another FPS is what I'd like to see next. However, game production has been halted, so we probably won't see another Oddworld game for a few years at least. :(

You've got bad choices there, but the closest thing to oddworld would be Adventure. I guess.

well car combat is a load of cars placed in an arena and weapons are scaterd around the the arena and you have to shoot your opposition and be the last one standing simple?

I wouldn't want to see any Oddworld game of those catagories. Oddworld games typically combined and fuse genres, and I see no reason why they should suddenly begin making games that can be pigeonholed. Elements of driving, fighting and definitely adventure wouldn't go amiss within Oddworld, but a whole game devoted to just one would be shallow.

Oddworld games are in a genre of their own.

Where's role playing game, puzzle game, real-time strategy, and first-person shooter? Adventure is the only possible genre for Oddworld with those choices, but I'm going to vote for car combat because I don't think I should dignify the poll with a serious answer.

On a side note, glad to see you're still posting stingbee, we were all afraid you left us.

Stealth mixed with adventure and roleplaying, plus a hint of strategy would be best genre for me, something like MO was ment to be.

I want the next one to be like Stranger's Wrath. Like a shooter game 1st and 3rd person views, and a shooter. Plus, make it an adventure as well! :D

that they would take the canceled game SligStorm (im soo sad hearing it was a canceled game,cos there you would be a slig (I love sligs) and that it was albino (I like albino,had some pets that was albino he he)

It wouldn't work. Stingbee hasn't considered the fact that oddworld has a very involving storyline and great depth. Oddworld is art, not Crash Bandicoot. Not some day glow car racer where someone is driving a mine car through a jungle competing against some other transport from the games, launching stupid weapons and suchlike.

It would ruin everything about oddworld. To think of it makes me weep.

Mabey in mini games, like in Starwars:KOTOR . Speaking of mini games, I heard a while back that in MO there was ment be a mini game, where you have raise meetles larvae until it grows into a Meetle or Mug, depending how you raise it.

I want another platformer like abes oddysee. Why does a new game have to be 3-d? You could make some really great graphics for a platformer now and it would be awesome.

Well 3D offers more freedom, and oddworld games are about having more freedom in their games. 2D games don't much gameing expereice these days and very liner. And mabey in the future 3D games would probably have just as good graphics as the 2D games, and even OWI are hoping to do a 4D game! Where you can feel the air, and touch the materials.

Slig lover, I have a dream and a theory that Squeak may be a slig, but we would have to wait awhile to find out, and I'm never right, Squeak sounds like a Grubb name anyway.

Out of morbid curiosity I voted for Fighting. While I'd love to see them continue what we already know they do well, there's something about OI's character design that would just make them ideal for designing a "new" fighting game. Which is, in all honesty, something we've not seen in a LONG time. OI's got a visual flare all it's own, and really, that's usually one of the only things that seperates one fighting game from another...

lol well squeek does sound really like a weird name for a slig,i dont know much more then that Sligstorm would be about a albino slig that was going to be killed cos of his mutation or something,but i dont know about his name,it might be as you said,it was going to be Squeek ^_^;

So many people who were devistated by the cancellation of SligStorm. Quite shocking. It was cancelled months before you even heard about it, and it was never even an announced title. OWI must be shaking their fists at Mr O'Connor with rage.

I have the shame of suddenly remembering that I did once try and come up with a concept for an Oddworld racing game. Munch could possess other characters' carts, and there was a playable Fleech with a driving lisence called Glossal. Man, what a great childhood that was.

munch would drive a gabier egg and his special weapon would be the electric shock
a slig would have a remote controler for a sonzer and the special weapon would be the laser on top of it
the gluck would drive a model of a moolah note and the special weapon would be a load of moolah eating through the enemy

OWI was born to tell stories at first... how can you tell an amazing story in a fighting game?

I hope that the people know how awesome it would be to have a slig quintology hero, amongst Abe and Munch, that liberated the mutated sligs

That's possibly the worst idea I've ever heard in my life. If people thought Munch's Oddysee was a kiddy game, this would be considered... well, I don't know what, but it would be bad. I do however believe that with an out of the box way of thinking, a car combat game could be produced and given some kind of logical reason among the Oddworld universe, but why would OWI limit themselves to such a narrow genre?
