I see two things in there, new areas of oddworld being discovered
No word of the inhabitants before a loooong time

and yes, I'll stay Odd!

does this mean no alf? it was so great how that guy replied to our letters. maybe he is just on long service leave, or on holiday, i can only hope that. he doesn't seem that mad in this though.

It means Oddworld don't want the Dear Alf section overun with questions about the future of the company, which looks very grim to me anyway.

That's a bit... sad. I'll miss that good old tea drinking mudokon.

that was one of my favourite sections of oddworld.com. it told interesting things about oddworld, things that were funny and discuising what realy happened. and now all the people who posted to alf, well i guess there questions will be unanswered.
ok, i basically said this in my first post, but i felt the need to express my feelings. i am hoping oddworld will still last.

Is Alf's Assistant left too? Just woundering.

So...., Alf's taking a vacation. He deserves one for answering all our questions.

His way of avoiding the answer is kind of annoying anyway.

That what makes him Alf. That's why we love him. If he made sense, we'd probably pelt him with rotten tomatoes and run him out of town.

I think that Alf deserves a vacation and I hope that when he will come back (because he will? Right?), he will have more strenght and even bigger sense of humour.

I begin to wonder if this is a step closer to never seeing the mudokons in the Oddworld games again :( first SW now this, it's sad cause abe was like one of those heroes like sonic and super mario and now he will perish like he never even existed

Looks like this place will be a dead for a while, because we have no idea when we'll see new news on oddworld, good be months, I don't know.

I'm not sure Alf completly left...

I doubt the guy will ever return, he's probably one of the employees who got laid off in the downsizing. It just feels like the company is falling apart, so I'm not very optimistic about all these major changes.

You could be right about the laid off part. But I'm still not sure if he left for good or not, though. =/

Good thought, Mojoman, I was too busy thinking about it in ODD terms to think about it in real life.

I hope oddworld isn't going to shutdown I really want them to finish the quintolligy

Yes, I wouldn't have been mad if they had never done Stranger and stuck with the Quint. Real good story, there.

Well Alf said he's taking a bit of a sabbatical, which basically means he'll come back when he's fit and healthy, and ready for some more of our (or your) annoying questions.

So all I can say now is 'see ya pall' (and don't catch rabies)

I guess Alf will be back when a new project will be launched and be announced to the public

Alf mentioned "leave" aswell. I think Alf himself dosn't know when he's coming back, it's up to him realy if he dose.

I think the Alf guy probably did get fired along with other non-vital staff. The reason he said he was on a sabatical is because that is alot more Alfish then saying - "I got fired".

By the way that was written... I don't think he's coming back...

It reminded me of the way parents tell their kids that their pets are going away for a long vacation and may not come back when really they are going to be put to sleep.

If OWI wants to keep things looking like everything's not falling apart, I think Alf would have been a good person to keep on while we are left in the dark.

perhaps the person that was playing Alf was let go.
and we'll have an other Alf when OWI will hire another public relation guy.

I'm gonna miss them there. Downtown just won't be the same without them.

I doubt they fired their whole PR team. Someone has to organise all those interviews that Lorne has been doing lately.

I just think that they wanted to put a stop to any game-related emails and questions about what's in store for OWI in the future - at least until they know themselves - so they cut the Alf-Line.
