whats your fav. town
what is your favorite town
|
Maybe you should wait a few days for one thread to expand before you make up another. But since you asked, I'd have to say... New Yolk City.
|
Well I think all of the towns I've seen are poor designed, so western and earthy. But, I think I could go with New Yolk city, because they got the Black market, Harvester, and what els?. Also Mongo Valley is there, with lush jungle.
But Bazzarton is good too, it has a farm where you smash clakkerz, and sewers. And the Grubbs village aint a town you know. |
New Yolk City. It's got a jungle, and Mongo Valley, and no sandstorms like in Buzzarton..
|
new yolk.
period. |
i know the grubb village isn't a town but i still love it. it remains me a lttle bit of greece and i love the the design and objects around it. also i like the grubbs better than clakkerz.
|
I like buzzarton because of the sandstorm witch i realy liked and gizzardgulch is cool
|
I like New Yolk city, it's just like new york city. And tougher bosses!
|
It is my opinion that New Yolk City is nothing like New York City.
But yeah, it's the best town. |
I liked Gizzard Gulch, but I would have to say New Yolk City is my favorite becuase of the surrounding wilderness.
|
the native village was pretty but nothing compares to the mongo wilds and valley surrounding New Yolk City :)
|
Buzzarton!
|
hmmm... it´s os hard to choose :s... there are two towns, which are my favorites; New yolk city n´the Grubbs village, mostly the Grubbs village ;)
|
Probably Last Legs if it is considered a town. That battle was rockin.
|
tie with grubbvillage and nyc
|
new yolk! yeah I'd choose new yolk!
It's where all the chicks are... |
Damn. I didn't know we were supposed to pick a town with all the bounty levels included in those towns. I thought it was just the towns themselves, you know, with the stores and Clakkerz and such.
I would have chosen Buzzarton because I like how it looks, overall, better than the other ones. It's more dynamic and less flat. It allows for more fun roaming with Stranger as it slopes down and up in places. The Clakkerz are everywhere and I love the business of it. New Yolk City was alright, but it was too straight and not enough back allies or anything to make it seem like there was more to it. It was basically this strip mall of Clakkerz. Also, the Clakker variety was pretty slim compared to Buzzartons'. I would have loved all of them equally if we could do some climbing, platforming, and just go on top of buildings and inside all of the buildings. I just didn't feel the interactivity that much in the towns. Kind of a let down, but, I still love to just run around in them :) |
New Yolk City was way too small to call itself a city. It's smaller than Buzzarton, if you don't include the docks area.
My fave is Dusky Hollow because I think it's cool that they built a whole level just for a chase sequence and because you have to smash through people's houses. heh. |
Yeah, I liked Dusky Hollow aswell, it is said to be the richest town in Stranger,so they can afford glass windows, big cities, guns, schools.
|
:
where did'ya see schools in dusky hollow? Guns? where did'ya see guns in dusky hollow (except for the one that blisters is wearing, but I don't think he bought that one) The first gun you get was the one in *spoiler* the grubbs village... |
duveaux... head over here, I have the impression you mix up names and locations:

blisters isn't in dusky hollow...
and people shoot at you with guns. actually they start shooting at you in Buzzarton if you annoy them I can't say I saw a shool but I saw little clakkerz running around |
0-o
i see... Im such a dumb-ass:S |
Dusky Hollow looked the most interesting to me. It was the only Clakker settlement that still had a Southbounder operating. The other towns' had shut down. Of course, the real reason it's my favourite is that there's no option to vote for it. ;)
NDW, New Yolk City is smaller in the game than it was in the past due to Outlaws taking their resources and making it an unpleasant place to live, encouraging Clakkerz such as Farmer Beeks to move to the country. |

New Yolk City was great... I realy liked it.
I don't think there was a lack freedom, I didn't realy feel the need of jumping on the roofs :p |
Well then you probably aren't very fond of platform gaming, whilst I am very fond of it. I mean, if you're going to give it platforming physics, at least put in platforming areas in the game. I would have loved it if every city had platforming on the buildings and structures to get treasure and other things. That would have been excellent, but it's a wasted opportunity in my eyes.
|
I think especially the buzzarton (hope I'm right, xavier :D :p ) roofs. There was one house with this really flat roof and the mailbox in front of it, that looked like you could stand on it. Though the clackers wouldn't like it...
On the bridge to the euginius lvl there were a couple of houses wich looked like they could be jumped. I investigated, and failed http://www.oddworldforums.net/images...icon11_odd.gif. |
in the grubb vilage you can still jump on the roofs :p
but I have to admit it's the only place but I still can't reach those sniper wasps |
No, it is not the only place, foun 'nother two, but they are not as spectaculair as the grubbvillage. You can also jump on roofs in the beeks opple farm and in the dusky hollows (if I am right)
|
that's right... but it isn't as much a the grubb village
and the first time you meet the grubbs there is a little platforming to steel an idol :p |

They fire the guns. |
The school bus is used as a clacker hideout...

|
The school bus is used as a Clakker hideout?
|
Probably you don't notice (me neither) but it looks like it's one on this pic
|
Isn't that the part where Stranger is running away from the clakkers as they're trieing to shoot him? Must be. Well, It sure doesn't look like a school bus to me.

Dusky Hallow is one of favourte levels, but I can't say why on here ;) |
