I've caught all of them alive, aside from the one's that have to be caught dead.
Best way to do this is to fire a Thudslug at them, and then the Zappfly straight afterwards. Repeat until desired effect. |

It's probably because if you squash him he'll be some piece of meat and you can't bag a piece of meat and... you have to bag the piece of meat before you can continue and leavo opplegate...

boombats, thudslugs, zapflies, saving and loading are all my friends for catching outlaws alive. boombats do damage but also deplete stanima quicker and leave the deffensless on the ground, i try and use a combination of them all.

lol i tried that a couple o f times but it allways turned out me in the fan :p

I killed the duke by running up a hill scared like shit when I did it the first time i fighted him and when he got there I didn't know what to do...
So I jumped of the cliff and survived, I used my chance to get away and a few seconds later I heard the sound you hear after you killed an outlaw. He jumped of the cliff :D *edit* and btw I think you'll get the amount of moolah for 'captured him dead'... |

Did you know that if you kill Blisterz Booty in the tutorial, which is more than possible with your melee attacks, that when you go to the town in Gizzard Gulch, and FMV still shows with him alive and being thrown in the cell - and you only get his value as being dead.

The first guy i accidently killed the first time round by putting a load of Fuzzles on the cliff, and when he came they all attacked him and pushed him over the edge.

when i replayed the game i accedently killed looten duke (i think) by shooting a fuzzle at him and he fell into one of the grinders...
looten duke is the last outlaw you capture in gizzard gulch right? |

You know, I was amazed at how much whining their was over how hard this game was. I mean, on TechTV they said that capturing the bosses alive was nearly impossible! I've never even played a first person shooter before, other than getting killed by my brother in Goldeneye 64 multiplayer, and I caught every one of the bosses alive without that much trouble. If I could do it, anybody could do it. I'd have thought all the game-reviewing Halo junkies would have breezed through this. Perhaps the live ammo provided a need for intelligent strategy that shooting fans lack, eh?
Blisterz Booty ALIVE: just vaccumed him up after the CG movie Filthy Hands Floyd ALIVE: couple of Fuzzles and a Bolamite Looten Duke ALIVE: perched up on one of the towers and sniped him with Thudslugs and charged Zappflies Boilz Booty ALIVE: killed his minions with Boombats, shot Fuzzles at him, then knocked him cold with Thudslugs and charged Zappflies Jo Mamma ALIVE: easiest of the bunch, after her minions were gone, shot Fuzzles at her so she couldn't switch on the power line, then climbed to her tower and knocked her out with Thudslugs and charged Zappflies Meagly McGraw ALIVE: killed Tiny with Boombats and Stingbees, then knocked out Meagly with Thudslugs and charged Zappflies Packrat Palooka ALIVE: placed Fuzzles all over his platform, used Zappflies to deactivate his force-field, knocked him off the platform with Boombats, QUICK-SAVED when he'd been knocked off (essential), then knocked him out with Thudslugs and Zappflies (reloading if he ever escaped back up to the platform) Xplosives McGee ALIVE: killed minions in the usual way, knocked him off his mine cart with Zappflies, then knocked him out with Thudslugs and Zappflies (anyone sensing a pattern?) Lefty Lugnutz ALIVE: dodged his rifle rounds by ducking behind gravestones, knocked him out with Thudslugs and Zappflies Elboze Freely ALIVE: shot him in the back with Thudslugs and Zappflies by jumping down from the platforms as he was turned to push the switches Fatty McBoomBoom ALIVE: picked off his minions one by one (mostly caught them alive with Zappflies and Bolamites), then charged in and knocked him senseless with Thudslugs and Zappflies That wasn't so hard, was it? |
I found it much harder the first go through - when I didn't use zappflies against any boss.

I feel the same way, Angalok, I found absolutely no problems catching the bosses alive (besides Elboze Freely, but I got him the second time).

Well, I have Halo2, but I sucked in it. Really. What if they have made the european version much easier.. I captured all of 'em alive, I had trouble only with Packrat Palooka (wish I had thought about quicksaving in the middle..) D. Caste Raider wasn't a bounty, so I don't count him. And I think the whole game was quite easy.. but really entertaining. |
