Hunting on Oddworld
Hunting on Oddworld
By Agent Sarah Dek Shen, Grak, and Greg © Agent Sarah. All Oddworld characters © Oddworld Inhabitants. Predator © 20th Century Fox. Chapter 1 “Come on…where are you?” said Dek as he looks at the computer screen. It’s been almost three months flying around in space, trying to find his brother, Grak. He was a Bad Blood, wanted for murdering his clan leader. The two brothers had fought many times on different planets. “Aha!” shouted the yautja. “Found him!” He touched the screen and pressed a few buttons. The screen shows a huge planet. Dek pressed another button to see the status. “This world is nearly covered in forests, deserts, mountains, swamps, plains, rivers, and jungles. Just like my planet. Nearly 43% of it has cities or villages.” he said to himself. “I better bring my weapons just in case if I bump into anyone with guns or spears. Computer, set forth to the planet and find a place to land there.” Dek gets out of his chair to get his weapons for his arrival on the planet. Somewhere, at the snowy mountain regions of the planet… A huge, dam towers over the river and mountains. Nearby the dam, there’s a sign with a symbol of like looks like a bottle of water with spider legs on it. The words, ‘Sekto Springs’ are written below the symbol. Inside the dam’s facility, a wolvark security guard was asleep on the controls when the radar starts beeping. The guard woke up with a start and tries to find out what’s going on. He looks at the radar screen and quickly grabs the phone. “Hey Sekto,” said the guard. “What is it?” said a voice that sends chills down the guards’ spine. “I’m picking up something from the radar.” the guard replied. “It’s not one of our ships and it’s heading our way.” “If it’s not one of our ships, destroy it.” said Sekto. “Yes sir!” the guard replied. “Now where’s my shutter gun?” the warrior said as he went through his trunk. “I know I put it in here…There it is!” Dek picks it up and places it on one of his gantlets. “Now I got my stuff, I’m ready for…” Suddenly, a loud explosion shook the ship, sending the yautja flying to the floor. “What the pauk?!” He gets up and goes to the control panel. “Computer, onscreen!” The screen lights up and shows an image of the inhabitants shooting at him. Another blast shook the ship again. “Computer,” said Dek Shen. “Get us out of here!” But the computer didn’t respond. “Paya c’jit it,” cursed the alien. “The second blast took it out. Looks like I have to drive this baby by myself.” He gets onto the chair, straps himself in, and grabs for the wheel/handle. He pulls away from the dam and head towards southwest of the mountains. Before he could get away, one of the guards aimed their torrent guns and opens fire. The spray of bullets struck one of the engines, causing it to malfunction. The ship started to smoke. “This is getting from bad to worst,” Dek muttered to himself. “I got to land before the engines die out.” The ship started to fall faster than ever as Dek tries his best to dodge the trees and other objects. The last thing he saw on the screen before he blacked out was the trees. |
I like it! That's pretty good Agent-Sarah!
Had that in my head for awhile.
That was a very nice beginning, Agent Sarah. I can't wait to see more of it-it's really good. :)
Hurry up on that Chapter!
I'm on hold right now (I've been busy playing Devil May Cry 3) but I'll get on it when I have the time (and maybe attach some story-related art to it as well).
Story related art? That's awesome! I think it's so cool when people post up a story AND the art to go along with it. We'll still be waiting for more of your story. :)
Cool! i bet the art will be fantastic!
I'm already working on chapter 2 and thinking some scenes for the drawings.
Yay, I'm glad your Predator/Oddworld cross-over has come to fruitation. Keep up the good work.
When's the next chapter?
Finally! Chapter 2 (and drawing) is here!
Chapter 2 “Do you think he’ll hurt us?” “I don’t know,” “Quiet! He’s waking up!” Dek slowly opens his eyes; his head is still aching from hitting the wheel from the impact. His eyes begin to focus. Four, salamander-like natives were starring down at him. He looks around his surroundings to find himself in a building instead of his spaceship. Dek Shen tries to get up but a sharp pain in his abdomen stopped him. The natives back away from him as he moved. “Easy there,” said one the creatures. “You’re in bad shape after your craft crashed.” Dek looks down to see his body is nearly covered in bandages. Then, he started to remember something. After he crashed, he was in his chair. Bright, green blood coming out from his mouth and head. Suddenly, he heard the sounds of footsteps and chattering on top of the ship. The door of his ship opens up and shadows of odd, creatures appeared before him. “You were the ones that came to my ship…” spoke the yautja. “Yeah!” the first native replied. “Everyone from the village saw your ship falling from the sky. We followed the smoke and broken trees to see what it was and we heard you and then we try to find the door and that’s when we found you.” “It was hard to pull you out of that craft,” said the second native. “We had 20 of us to drag you to our village.” “What are you and where am I?” Dek asked. “We’re Grubbs.” said the third native. “You’re at one of the villages of Western Mudos.” Dek slowly gets up from the bed, trying not to break one of his ribs. “It’s been awhile since we had someone in our village,” the first grubb said. “And boy, was he a jerk! Demanding our food and water and stuff.” “Does he go by the name, ‘Grak’?” Dek asked. “Yeah!” the forth grubb replied. “Why? You know this guy?” “I’ve been tracking him down for months.” said the yautja. “Is he still here?” The grubbs shook their heads. “He left a few days ago.” said the second grubb. Suddenly, another grubb native burst into the room. “They’re coming! The wolvarks are coming!” “Wolvarks?” Dek asked. “Some jerks that work for Sekto,” the lead grubb replied. “Ever since Sekto build the dam and took our water, he wants us to leave our village so he can build some docks and facilities.” The sounds of an airship were heard overhead. “I hope our guide is going to do something about this…” said one of the grubbs. Outside of the village… “All right, you pecker heads!” shouted the head wolvark. “This is your last chance to leave!” “Never!” the fully dressed, female guide replied. “We are not going to leave our village, even if you force us to!” The wolvark grinned. “Fine. If we can’t force you to leave, we have no choice but to kill you.” “If you’re going to fight these people, you have to go through me.” The wolvarks looked around, trying to find the person who said that. He saw a tall, bandaged up reptilian-like man towering over the natives. The natives moved out of the way as Dek Shen walks over to the lead wolvark. “Leave now,” said Dek. “What the hell are you?” asked the leader. “Someone who’s about to kick your ass if you don’t leave,” Dek replied. “How can you do that? You’re wounded!” said another wolvark. “Shoot him!” But as the leader was about to aim his rifle at the alien warrior, Dek quickly grabs him by the neck and lifts the wolvark off the ground. Dek looks at him in the eyes and said, “Now listen to me and listen good. If you don’t leave these people alone, this will happen.” The yautja grabs the gun and opens fire at one of the wolvarks. A sniper gets hit in the chest and falls dead on the ground. Dek looks back at the leader. “Do you understand?” The leader nodded his head. “Good,” growled the warrior. “Now, if I ever see you or your troops here again, I will have you skulls and add them to my trophy room.” And with that, he let’s go of the leader. “Now,” said Dek. “Get out!” The wolvarks started running off to the forest and into the airship. |

Sorry for the lack of updates, my computer was being a bitch to me. And guess what? I finished chapter 3!
Chapter 3 “That was awesome!” said the female guide. “You totally show them.” “Thanks,” Dek replied. “They won’t bother you for awhile.” “If our steef guardians were still alive, those wolvark jerks would be gone for good!” said a grubb native. “Steef guardians?” the yautja asked. “A long time ago,” the guide began. “Our ancestors lived with the steef for many years when the water was still running in our lands. They protected us from harm and helped us during hunting.” “And that’s when Sekto came,” said one of the native. “Hey! Who’s telling the story?!” shouted the guide. “When Sekto came, he and the wolvarks started to build the dam at the mountains. This anger the guardians and they started to battle them. Sadly, all our steef guardians were killed.” “All of them? As in, every one of them?” the yautja asked. The female guide sadly nods her head. “After they were wiped out, Sekto finished the dam and now everything went to hell.” Dek scratched the back of his head. “I’m sorry about that. Now listen, tomorrow, I’m going to leave to track down Grak, bag him, and fly out of here.” “But you can’t leave!” one of the grubbs shouted. “What if the wolvarks would come back?” “I think I got that covered.” Dek replied. A minute later… Dek came back from his ship, carrying a huge gun. “There,” he said as he places it on a tripod. “This automatic gun turret will take them out.” “What happens if it hits us?” the guide asked. “It won’t,” the warrior replied. “I programmed the gun to shoot the wolvarks. The downside that it takes a few seconds to warm up and it has to cool off after it’s been used. Those guys are in a big surprise if they come back to mess with your village.” Dek gets up and said, “Since I’m new to this planet, I need someone to guide me around so I know where I’m going.” “We have one that knows the entire Western Mudos from the back of his hand,” said the guide. Then she cups her hands over her mouth and shouted, “Hey Greg! Move your ass; we got a guy that needs help!” A small Grubb (no taller than up to Dek’s knee) wearing a helmet ran towards them. “Greg,” said the guide. “This is…what is your name, anyway?” “Dek Shen,” the yautja replied. “This is Dek Shen; he’s going to need some help.” “You can’t be serious,” Dek said to the female guide. “No way that this kid is my travel guide. I mean, look at him, he’s small!” “Watch it,” said the little grubb. “I maybe small, but I’m deadly with a spear and bow. And besides, I’m the only one that can help you.” The yautja sighed. “Sounds like I have no choice then, do I? All right, I’ll let you help me.” “Great!” shouted Greg. “I won’t let you down.” “Now that you’ll be staying for the night,” said the guide. “We will give you some food.” “Thank you,” Dek replied. “It’s very kind of you.” Somewhere, at the deserts… Night fell at Dead Hen’s Pass. A small, Meep farm stood peacefully near the rock arches. The Clakker farmer fell asleep while his black & white television set was on. That’s when the sounds of his Meeps baaing in panic woke him up. He fell off his chair as more baaing was heard. “What’s going on out there?!” shouted the farmer. He grabs his pitchfork and opens the house door to see what’s bothering his herd. The clakker saw a dark figure, hunched over. “Hey!” shouted the farmer. “What do you think you’re doing here? If you don’t leave, I’ll use deadly force if necessary.” The figure didn’t reply nor looked over its shoulder to see the farmer. “What’s wrong with you?! Are you deaf?” the farmer said as he walks towards the stranger. “I said…” He stopped when he saw the body of a skinned Meep lying next to the figure. “What the hell are you doing to my Meep?!” The farmer grabs the figure’s arm, only to get a black eye and a bloody beak. The overgrown chicken looks over his shoulder to see the stranger grabbing the carcass and walking towards him. The clakker crawled away from the menacing figure when he slams himself against the wall of his house. The figure stood in front of the scared farmer with glowing eyes. The farmer saw a glint of metal as the unknown person unsheathe a pair of wrist blades from its right arm. “Please…” beg the clakker. “Don’t hurt me. I didn’t mean to disturb you…” The figure clicks and growls behind its mask before the blades went back into the gauntlet. Suddenly, the stranger jumps onto the roof of the house, jumps to the ledge of the canyon, and disappears into the night. The farmer sat in shock on what just happen to him. |
Wow, it's been a while, hasn't it, Sarah? :D Well, I must say that that chapter was great-it was your best one yet! :D I loved the suspense placed in the last part of the chapter! Keep this story going-it's getting more and more interesting as it goes along. :)
