Can you see your house from here?

Don't know where to put this but It's a very pretty picture taken by the crew of the Columbia Space Shuttle
For all you Euro's and Native Africans.

1.It doesn't show up.

2.stupid shit thread.

Godlesswanderer 02-04-2005 12:26 PM

From the looks of it you've lifted the URL straight from your email server. which means to view it, we'd all have to be logged in. Also the file you've linked, isn't a picture file. Picture files end in '.jpg, .gif, etc.' but this URL ends in '=photoviewer'.

Pretty much...

Abeguy 02-04-2005 12:30 PM

I'll try to fix that

Godlesswanderer 02-04-2005 12:47 PM

Surely the night(?) is too concentrated. Shouldn't it be more spread out? It doesn't get dark quickly, it usually fades into darkness/night.

Anyway, I'm about here.

Oddish 02-04-2005 12:56 PM

That's a pretty picture.

Godlesswander, your are right. I think it's 2 pictures shot in a day and night, and then put tougther. Hey I live quite close to you.

nads 02-04-2005 01:26 PM

I'm close...but still not on that picture.

Hobo 02-05-2005 01:45 AM

Have you got a bigger version of this?

EDIT: oh and by the way it's not a real picture:p, it's off a chain mail.

Rich 02-05-2005 04:33 AM

How come Britain looks green from space? There's no countryside left anymore, thanks to mass immigration. There's houses everywhere.

Languor 02-05-2005 07:32 AM

I'm in America. I'm not on that map. :(

Most of britan is green, just look out of your window and see if theres any green lands. Only cities and town are not green.

Rich 02-05-2005 10:59 AM

The only green I can see is the muddy mess of that makes up my back garden. This is suburbia and it's like that around all the major cities. You'd think London and Birmingham would show up as a little smudge at least.

Esus 02-05-2005 12:17 PM

Hmmm.

Here's a better map..

Oddish 02-05-2005 01:09 PM

Woooo. Nice one Esus.

It's huge.

Wil 02-05-2005 01:27 PM

Rich, how delightfully satirical of you. But I disagree, immigrants end up in the cities. They're brownsite inhabitants, if you will. It's young and single-parent families who move into those hideously ugly and sterile new suburban estates.

I can't see my house, but I can see whereabouts it is.

Alpha 02-05-2005 01:27 PM

holy....COW thats big

Godlesswanderer 02-05-2005 01:44 PM

Well that's the Earth for ya. Being all big and everything.

Al the Glukkon 02-05-2005 06:41 PM

Wow Esus, that made me realize that I'm afraid of Antarctica.

Alcar 02-05-2005 10:46 PM

Esus, my computer crashed after trying to load that image. I need a new computer.

Alcar...

Hobo 02-06-2005 12:05 AM

Esus. I love you.

Rich 02-06-2005 12:26 AM

I can see little smudges on THAT picture.

Yet another reason to dislike immigrants, they're allowed to live in London for free but if I want to live there I have to pay a ridiculously huge sum of money. Money that I don't have.

Alpha 02-06-2005 06:15 AM

how can you see smudge's? it's on a computer.

Godlesswanderer 02-06-2005 06:19 AM

Why wouldn't you be able to see a smudge if it's on a computer?

Abeguy 02-06-2005 10:43 AM

The name of the thread was a rhetical question and it wasn't two pics made into one, I don't know how to explain it but it just is that way
I didn't mean for you to actully find it

Nate 02-06-2005 01:32 PM

There used to be a satellite picture of melbourne in my classroom and I managed to find my house, or at least my street.

Scrubs 02-08-2005 04:43 AM

Wow rich, it sounds like the BNP just recruited themselves a new member, maybe you can start shoving dog shit through every immigrants letterbox, I hear its one of their favourite forms of politcal campaigning!

Languor 02-08-2005 12:44 PM

Esus, that's an awesome picture. Takes so long to view though...

Ha Ha...

There is no future for the UK. The Tories wish to control immigration, but it's too late.

Languor 02-09-2005 03:57 PM

Torie...? I guess I don't know cause I'm not British...

I am doing a research project on Britain right now though.

Scrubs 02-10-2005 02:44 PM

I'm sure Rich can bring you up to speed on british right wing politics!! I get to vote for the first time in the general election next year, trouble is all the parties suck(I'm leaning towards lib dems or greens though). I hate politicians and the culture vultures on that BBC newsnight review.

Rich doesn't have a clue about immigration otherwise he wouldn't say such dumbass stuff, reading the sun too much methinks

Rich 02-10-2005 02:56 PM

Lib Dems = Cool...ish

:

How dare you! :p
Are you an immigrant or something?

"Hey there have a free house and car that Rich's parents and many others have paid for!"

Esus 02-12-2005 08:47 AM

I'm not particularly bothered on who wins, as long as it's not the Tories. Which leaves only Labour and the Lib Dems, because no one else really has a chance. Damn those Tories... and the Daily Mail.
However, I'm all for Immigrants and giving them what they want... If only because it annoys the Daily Mail :p

Rich 02-12-2005 09:03 AM

Labour will walk it. The Tories are a wasted vote, they'll never get in again. Not after Thatcher. Blair and co. are still cleaning up her mess today.

Oddfan 02-12-2005 12:28 PM

I live in a crappy place called the united states so no I can not.

Oddish 02-13-2005 08:03 AM

If anyone wants to see how the earth Looks like at night.

Wolfpac 02-16-2005 01:13 AM

Wow, all 3 are great pictures. I didn't think the world was so Green. But you can't see any Cities though. Not even something as big as New York.

Nath 02-16-2005 10:36 AM

That night line back on the first picture is real, coz if you look at night time there is a faint line that you can see in the sky that shows you the difference between day and night. I've noticed it loads of times. And if you look realy closely to the pictrue you can see where it gets a little bit dark right next to the complete darkness and it covers quite a bit of area.

Alpha 02-16-2005 10:40 AM

Hey I can see my house from here it's the tiny tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny etc............... little light at the right side of the land of the leprauchaun's.
