Enter in to the Oddworld Magizine
 

Hey this is Shadowman, the writer and reporter (meaning I do all the hard work) of the our neighborhood unoffical Oddworld magizine that we distribute to the neighborhood. On our team are several Forum members these being Odd Trusting, Pinkgurllover,and Mudokon Native. I often do not join forums because they take so much time to put in but since I have been a super fan since 1996 (yes that means I was looking into Oddworld before Abe's Oddysee came out, looking into magizines for release dates and such. We (being the creators of the Oddworld mag decided that we should join up with the forums, I was a bit undecided about joining the forums and depriving our time from the Magizine, but I though we could have a mutal bond with the forums. We would post our magizine articles on the forums and you (the members) would give us articles for the Magizine, we both profit. In the magizine we have interviews with some of the characters/creatures of Oddworld, some comics, news updates, and much much more. If any of you think that you have something to contribute tell us by posting here, comics funny sayings interesting news or whatever tell us, you may PM if you do not want it public. Of course you get full credit for it and your member names arn't written on the magizine in tiny print but in large bold print. So please contribute. We will soon have a website that you can visit to drop suggestions and read more in depth information on Oddworld. Your contributions would be always appricated

Yeah, one on our movies, one page could be dedicated to Tims, and one could be dedicated to mine. If your going to, don't put about Spielberg in my movie, because it is not a definate that he will be.

Secondly, do you charge anything for these magazines?

Oh by the the way Odd Trusting was reading this thread about 4 seconds ago, and flew up out of his chair and was yelling something about forgeting to send you CG clips or something like that and went off to his house to send them I think, but yes the movie would make a good section and we are proplely (cause I am going to command it) a Oddlife section in the magizine involving people and there special Oddworld experinces so I will have this issue done suprisingly done before Christmas and may have this issue posted (Consider it my Christmas gift to the fourms)

if you do something about my movie you maby also can internet interview me and kevin (creators of our movie) he is at my home in the weekend
maby on msn but something how other members wont know it till the magazine is created

Sounds like a plan for an interview. This addition on the mag will strike something new into Oddowrld fans. I will update my website and include the movie info too. The website isn't up yet because we need someone to sponcer it and put it on the net, but we think we have found a company who has already given us a discount price (apparently he was quite interested in Oddworld or was a fan) and the website may be up by this weekend.

The PM idea may be the easiest way to do it. That sounds like the clear path. Know that we have that worked out who should I say are the creators of the Oddowrld movie, your member names, your true names, or your member name with brackets with your real name in it. This is going to open some Oddworld fan's eyes, This interview is going to be a great one

Is assume she isn't going to be there tommorow at 2:00 Dutch time. If it would be okay perhaps we could have more interviews after this one, cause I am sure people will be interested on this.

You mean that you would devote a page in nearly every issue for our movies and interviews?

Yup all the way to the finish line each issue, that is if your willing. Last time I checked with OT he was having troble with attachments Fuzzle Guy.

Sorry about the double post but I wanted to show everyone the front page of the ROUGH DRAFT (not final) of this months Oddworld magizine. PLEASE NOTE that this is the rough draft and all it is is the body text, yes we have completely finished our print of our magizines but I will have to upload the final draft version with the cool background, Oddworld fonts, interesting pictures and interesting notions what you are seeing is just the plain old text. so the final front page edition is on its way, but I wanted to give you something to look at while you waited. The final version will be up here soon (and is much cooler). Didn't want to disappoint anyone who just wanted something. :fuzgrin: Also included is the ROUGH picture for the heading. The only problem I encountered was trying to put the final version on here because it would only expect text files only, don't worry though I will find a way to make it work, this is the other reason I used the rough draft version

Hey you guys does anybody know how to get a write format thats not just plain text onto the forums, cause all the other types are not valid formats

I'm guessing you mean attachments. If you do, pdf's work. I'm not sure how you convert word files into pdf documents. But I know it's possible. All you need is Adobe Acrobat and you will be able to do it. I'll look up how to do it an a sec.

I just checked on www.download.com and I searched 'Adobe Acrobat' and I got these results. I havn't checked all of them but the ones I saw you have to pay for but they all had free trials of at least 30 days.

Wow thanks for doing that work for me! I know your good at digital art, ever think about putting some in the magizine, I would be more than happy to do it

like maybe even do some of our headings and title bars as well as doing picyures of whatever you want fot the fan art section

To do title bars and headers I would need to see the current design of the magazine. So I could get it to fit in a stuff.

Also, once my Soulstorm Brew vendor is finished. You can put that in the fan fiction section if you like. I should be finished maybe sometime in the next few hours.

Well we do have a website but it was up for 3 hours and then we say it had a bug and are fixin' it right know. I can't beleave it is January already ah well that means January's edition will be up here soon.

Hey shadowman, I seem to recall someone asking this before but I can't find it anywhere. But, are you just distributing the magazine to your neighbourhood? Or are you planning to distribute it through your website? Also, you said in another thread that currently people pay into a fundraiser thing and as long as they pay into it, they get the mag for free. Does that mean if you distribute it through your website, people will have to pay for the mag or pay into a fundraiser thing to see it?

Have you emailed fan leagil? If not, then you are nto allowed to make money from the mag

Oh I did a when we first started, see at first we charged people but then it was difficult to keep in place a price so we came up with a revolutionary idea. What people do is they give donations to us (which is usually the price they payed for it) to keep producing it for free. But we get a lot of donations still. At first I was sceptical of this idea but it worked anyway.

GREAT SCOTLAND OF THE SKY! I completely forgot about posting this, with me being so hyped up about thre new game and stuff and making copies and going places! DOUBLE SCREW UP! Godlesswanderer, I forgot about your interview too, I am truely at your mercy, those blasted cousins or vermin or whatever they are have pulled me away from my work to, Odd Trusting has been scurrying all over like a rat in daylight to try and finish up our special edition (this month we made to mags the second one went out today). I am locked down with coffee and all kinds of thiongs to keep me on top of the fourms, playing Stranger and making sure the high grade printer isn't stuck again, like it is at the moment. I shall to here for a good long time don't worry about that, as for those vermin human creatures I will have to get the baseball bat again.
