Oddworld needs your vote!

Well Stranger got 32% now. What's going to happen when it's all been voted?

www.eagames.co.uk

Xavier 12-05-2004 10:09 AM

wow!!! I can't believe it.
It was at 3% when Max posted it on oddblog yesterday!
can you feel the power of the oddworld fans? :D

we are right after "LoTR, The Battle for Middle-earthâ„¢" (38%)

odd chick 12-05-2004 11:40 AM

The numbers between LOTR: The battle for Middle Earth and Stranger's Wrath are so close now! It's amazing because SW was only at 5% when I voted yesterday!! I hope that Stranger eventually gets first place! :)

T-nex 12-05-2004 12:32 PM

Argh I voted... But i doubt the numbers will atay that big, cuz when we've used our votes. we can't vote again. And i think there are more LOTR fans, than ODD fans :(

Nate 12-05-2004 12:41 PM

Aaaagh!!! We've slipped down to 32%. Come on everyone, get off your arses and vote!

oddguy 12-05-2004 01:52 PM

Hey...at least we're in second place. Me happy.

buckminster 12-05-2004 05:34 PM

Tied at 36% with LOTR...

Yay!! :) This is getting better and better! I think it'll beat LOTR now! :D

oddguy 12-05-2004 07:57 PM

Stranger's Wrath is currently in the lead with 37% and LOTR in 35%. Yay! :)

Alcar 12-05-2004 09:39 PM

I'm amazed that Stranger rose up to the first position so quickly, as with Xavier, I first saw it when Max reported that it was only 3%. Good work everyone! But don't slack off, keep voting for Stranger! :D

Alcar...

oddguy 12-05-2004 09:44 PM

I wouldn't have known about this poll had it not been on OddBlog. I think that's what attracted so many Oddworld fans to it.

-oddguy

Alcar 12-05-2004 10:06 PM

I'm more amazed that Stranger rose that far in such a small amount of time. Taking into consideration visitors to OddBlog, and visitors to General Discussion, I think the LOTR fans are kind of slacking off. LOTR has a much larger fan base afterall, so let us hope they do not discover the poll.

Alcar...

erwinraaben55 12-06-2004 05:05 AM

36-36, damn, we need more :p

buckminster 12-06-2004 06:10 AM

Well, if you are familiar with browser cookies, you can always delete the one that eagames creates so you can vote again... but you might get bad quarma :P

Scrab Watcher 12-06-2004 08:10 AM

No, that's cheating! I'm going to my old school tomorrow, I'll ask *cough*force*cough* them to vote. Any way...WE GOT DA POWA!!

Oddish 12-06-2004 09:13 AM

Aright, Stranger is in the lead!

All the things I voted always seem to be in the lead ;p

Xavier 12-06-2004 09:23 AM

well done guys!
wow apparently max did an very good job by reporting it on oddblog!

I realy hope it will make EA realise the people do care for the game!!! :p

Nate 12-06-2004 12:34 PM

There probably aren't many people voting at all in this poll if the numbers bounce up and down so quickly.

*deletes cookies, visits site again*

35% Stranger

Oddish 12-06-2004 12:56 PM

I'd never expect that when I saw it at 3% :p
38% Oddworld
34% LoTR

dripik 12-07-2004 08:52 AM

I've just voted, and SW is still 38% to LOTR's 34%.

I expected more for Battlefield 2. The first part was really popular.

Nate 12-07-2004 12:22 PM

Stranger 37%
LOTR 35%

Come on everybody! Lets kick some pasty white geek-butt!

Alf 12-07-2004 04:18 PM

You guys are awesome! Keep up the good work (and the voting!). We need all of your support!!!!

Nate 12-07-2004 05:31 PM

Out of curiousity Alf, does it make any difference other than pride if we win?

I mean, will EA suddenly realise that Oddworld has a huge fan base, or will they just ignore the results?

Facsimile 12-07-2004 11:51 PM

LOTR: 35%
SW: 38%

Xavier 12-08-2004 08:34 AM

NDW... well I guess EA will see there are lots of people who cares about the oddworld games
Yuk LOTR is coming back :(
LoTR 36%
Oddworld 37%

Scrab Watcher 12-08-2004 08:54 AM

Nooo! I can't do any more! I voted with every dang computer in my old school's lab! Bah.

I don't think they should have made that LoTR game at all...second fellowship indeed...pah...

Xavier 12-08-2004 11:24 AM

noooooooooo!!!!

LoTR 36%
Oddworld 36%

Oddish 12-08-2004 11:43 AM

C'on oddwolrd fans. Vote for Stranger's Wrath!

Incognito 12-08-2004 11:47 AM

Hmmm, I'll have to use each computer at work tomorrow. Maybe that should work. Lol can't imagine asking my boss to let me borrow his comp for five minutes just to vote for this. I'll have to do it in the morning before he comes in.

Software Bug 12-08-2004 11:51 AM

noooooooooo!!
I will tell every member of the crew to vote:)
that would make us win from LOTR

Scrab Watcher 12-08-2004 11:54 AM

Oddish...I think pretty much everyone who's read this thread has voted :p

Anyway...office working people! Every computer! Come on, Oddworld NEEDS you!

Wil 12-08-2004 12:16 PM

I would get people at school to vote, but the URL has the word ‘game’ in it, so it's automatically blocked. Fury shall flare when the biology department wants to go to the fictional gametes.com. I'll keep MSNing everyone.

*goes to misuse more brand names/use more neolgisms*

I am concerned over the multiple-voting, though. Does fandom justify the falsifying of statistics? Personally, I don't believe it does. The poll is there to determine proprotions quite earnestly. It's one thing to give fans a kick in the pants, it's another to create inaccurate results. Proceed with caution.

True, but a poll like this could lead to better publicity; if we hadn't noticed this poll and Stranger's Wrath stayed at 3% Ea games are gonna get the idea that this game isn't gonna appeal to that many people. But if they see that Stranger is kicking LOTR's ass then there gonna think "We're onto something good here, let's put that little bit more effort into advertising it, which leads to more people finding out about the game, which leads to better sales, which leads to OI getting more $$. The fact that it's a poll on eagames makes it all the more important. Also if people who browse the ea website see Stranger's Wrath ahead of all the others in the poll, they're gonna think that this may be a game worth checking out. Yeah? :)

Esus 12-08-2004 12:39 PM

meh, I knew this poll doesn't mean anything for us. After all, we know we're trying to falsify it. We want EA Games to belieffve that Stranger is more popular than it currently is, though. ;)
So I don't think we're cheating ourselves.

Nate 12-08-2004 12:40 PM

Nooo! I can't do any more! I voted with every dang computer in my old school's lab! Bah.

Whilst I can see where Max is coming from, all I will say is one thing: delete your cookies.

Anyway, do you really think those LOTR geeks aren't also doing that?

:

NDW... well I guess EA will see there are lots of people who cares about the oddworld games

Yeah, but will they do anything different because of that?

Wil 12-08-2004 12:53 PM

Incognito, I am aware of all those potentials, but I still stand by my principles. Smaller issues are great times to test the strength of your beliefs, and sadly mine are carved into my bones.

:

We want EA Games to belieffve that Stranger is more popular than it currently is, though.

Yes, we either want for that, or for EA to discover that Oddworld does have a groovy popularity as it is, but while we were all pitching in and giving one vote, we were telling the truth and not creating inaccurate results.

:

Anyway, do you really think those LOTR geeks aren't also doing that?

That's a tu quoque.

I'm sticking by my reservations, but of course always encouraging others to vote legitimately.

Esus 12-08-2004 12:57 PM

It also makes visitors to the site take note of this game that is beating LOTR is a popularity poll, which could draw in some buyers.

Xavier 12-09-2004 11:45 AM

oddworld is loosing now :(

LoTR 37%
Oddworld 35%
