Basic Rules. New players please read.

Hello and welcome to the ever-so-fabulous RPG section. I'm your friendly mod, The Red Muse, incase you haven't noticed yet.
But anyway, here are some basic rules...

1. Do not control other players characters unless it is mentioned otherwise in the RPG.

2. Do not spam. (Actually, I shouldn't even be writing this, because we all know that spamming is forbidden. Remember kids, spamming is the straightest way to hell :P)

3. If the RPG is not Oddworld related, it should be posted to the Off-Topic discussion.

4. Don't mock or diss other players.

5. Same goes for flaming. If you feel the urge to flame someone, do it via PM.

6. Remember to have fun.

Meh...that's about it. I'm open for suggestions, so if you have an idea for a proper rule or something, feel free to post here.

i think it would be a good idea splitting OWF RPG into two parts: Non-main RPGs and main-RPGs(When we'll start one).

Yayness. It's great to see that the forums are back :) Yay for that.

I'd just like to inform you all that I won't be around here so often for a while, as my ISP is a bitch. I'll try to fix the problem as soon as possible, but I can't make any promises...

...I'm currently at school and my teacher is eyeing me very, very badly...

why don't we have a non-oddworld rpg sub forum?.

It was never there... But non-oddworld-RPGs can be posted in the non-oddworld Fan corner. Ah well, it would have been much better if we had a non-oddworld RPG-forum.

Heh, was that a stab at me? I make plenty good points, which have more to do with the subject than you. Not only that, I make better RPGs which I don't make out of ''boredom'' such as you. The reason it is dead, is because the lack of active RPGers. And I never saw you help. You did'nt even participate in W@rf, which was the only active RPG.

Hardly my fault I never heard of "W@rf". Really I couldn't help that RPG and if you love RPG's so much why not make one now?.

Because I have no ideas, so therefore, any RPG I made right now would be shit. Like your Glukkon auction.

Purely out of boredom did I visit this corner of OWF, but now I am intrigued. What is this mysterious phenomenon known as the RPG? How do it work? What do one do? What's it all about, Alfie?

EDIT: I mean I know what RPG stands for, I'm just wondering about the process itself. That might make it a bit clearer.

An RPG (Role Playing Game), is a game really... You disguise yourself as something else than yourself. You take the journy into an RPG, and make a story that depends on the user's characters. You never know where it'll start or end, and you will always get surprised. It's much like when you play in real life, you know, when you're young.

I dunno how else to say it...

It's mighty fun sometimes too.

Work at Rupture Farms... It's one of the RPGs, probably the most active one...

I was Ryu back then I had problem's with logging in and shit.

Are you talking about the Work at Rupture Farms RPG? I really don't remember any Ryu.

umm... Right.,.. Maybe it is becaus it's one of those character that pops up and the dissapears... I really don't wanna dizzy my brain remembering unimportant characters.

I am yet another person who has no idea about the RPG (until reading this). How do you get started? do you just post into a story?

You just post a character biography (name,age,race etc.) and follow the story. Just do scenes, but if you do something lame like, kill someone or become a god, then you get thrown out the RPG. Or just they ignore it.

Anyways, just read a few RPGs, but not the newbie ones, cuz they suck. I can also direct you to some rules i wrote to another Forum, where i'm mod at the RPG section. it's pretty detailed..

He would come here this thread has been active over the last few day's after all.

I reckon you should try for the mod position here in the next election. Alcar is prepared to give the job to a veteran who wants to try some new stuff (me) or an regular RPer.

Actually with all the ideas you use to come up with you would do preety well at it.

Neither do I. I have a few ideas but I'm hardly an active RPGer. I reckon we need an RPG trial zone, where we can test out different methods and try to build a good main RPG. The little RPGs are fine as they are, they just need more members.

You could try advertising (ask people to put your RPG on thier sig). And walla massive RPG comeback.

Possibly. Many people are curious but can't be bothered to join in.
