Name Change
 

We are coming up to a time when we will probably have more members here than ever. Since we currently only have about 10 or 12 regular members, I figure now is the last chance I have to ask for a name change before it gets impossible because too many people will be confused.

I'm pretty sure that all the current users are familiar with my "Red Cat" custom title. I think a name change wouldn't confuse them at all if I kept my custom title, or had it changed to "AKA Death" or something...

I understand that it isn't the easiest thing in the world to change a users name on vBulletin, but I've asked you more times than I can remember, and I'm really getting sick of this "Death" name.

So I'm asking you, please, can I have a name change? I promise I will make it worth your while (I have no idea how... name it and I'll do it!). Please?

I want to change my name too, but then no-one will know who I am!!! I don't have a custom title.

Ah we'll know who you are Death!!! You can also put "Formerly Death" or something under your username, I've done that before!

I don't have a problem with changing your name Death, after all you made us these new smilies. :) Plus you have been here for sometime now.

To confirm, I'd be changing your name to "Red Cat". Just let me know what you want for sure as your custom title, and I'll make the change.

Does the name have to be "Red Cat"? I have no problem with that I just think that something like "Lithium" or "Codek" would be cooler... I think I like "Codek" better...

As for the custom title, "Formerly Death", as Fuzzles! suggested, would be fine.

I don't like the "death" name, I prefer the Codek name I have now. It's my name, and it is subject to my opinions and personal tastes. If you don't like it, fine, but you don't have any right to insult me or my name like that.

The answer to the question is no, we can't. I've been asking for a name change for ages now. I didn't just wake up one day and decide I wanted a different name.

Normally under these circumstances, Abe Babe would refuse my request, but since I've been here so long, made tons of new smilies for the forum, and have been asking for ages, she allowed me the name change.

Please understand that my circumstances are unique. The mere fact that I had a name change does not entitle you to a name change. The sad reality of it is that if we all keep changing our names, then nobody will know who anybody around here is. Since you are one of the less well-known posters around here (no offense) changing your name would cause a lot of confusion.

I would not so much like a name change, more like a name EDIT. I wish it I made the S capitalised.

I also do not appreciate you flaming on Nate's behalf. If Nate has any particular problems with anything I have said, then he can let me know about them. And if he does then I certainly hope he expresses them in a more mature manner than you have. So far, he hasn't expressed any concerns, and I think that is reasonable enough. Starting an argument as you have and forcing Nate into the middle of it by including him in a flame-war without asking his permission is far more thoughtless than anything I've said about him.

Lately CB, you've been imposing, patronising, and imperialistic. It's not being appreciated by anybody, and I think I can safely speak for all our regular users here when I say that you should tone it down a LOT.

Nate, like it or not, is a newer poster, although he has been a member for a while. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure he had a period where he didn't post here for a considerably long time. As far as I know, he has only been posting since a few months ago. Therefore, he is not as "notorious" as the other posters on this forum.

He isn't the most well known poster, he is a lesser known poster. Probably under-appreciated as I quite enjoy reading his posts. You're going off on tangents, big ones. You're saying that this arguing is because of something that happened in a completely different thread. There is no point in tallying it all up like that. You can't just have a tantrum now and act like it's justified response because of something I said last week.

In any case, you are not in a position to make a comment here. Don't think the fact that we tolerate your loud-mouthed antics means you can get away with anything.

I mean't no harm to Nate, and no amount of arguing, insulting, flaming and cursing on your part will change that or expose any form of underlying intentions. My intentions were to point out, firmly and clearly, that changing your name is NOT the new trend. I explained to Nate in frank terms that he is probably not the best person to have a name change. That is all I did, and anything beyond that is just a fabrication of your over-active imagination.

I cannot argue this case continually. You are fighting somewhat of a misnomer with this argument, in that what you are accusing me of is something that, if you were in Nates shoes, would've been taken as offensive, even though that is not how it was intended.

Pretending you have no idea what the word "flamer" means does not suggest you have a life, if that is what you were trying to suggest by it. Most people would've put two and two together and realised that a "flamer" is someone who argues strongly with a lot of cursing and character attacks.

But what really gives it away is the fact that you could've looked up the word on dictionary.com, wikipedia, google, or any other net slang website, and probably find out what it means in a matter of minutes. But for the purposes of this argument, you apparantly didn't. Well done you.
