Band? Anyone?

Anybody here in a band? I'm in one at the min. I'm learning how to play the bass guitar, but I also sing. Our band is called "Fury". At the min i've been writing some lyrics for our first album, when were all famous i'll send everyone a free copy. Anyway, we are:

Me - Bass, lead vocals
Steve Stedman - Lead Guitar
Nick Peacock - Drums, backing vocals

Chaos Theory

1. Future War (intro)
2. Bad Taste
3. Skin
4. Get Out
5. Alien
6. Dark Green Sky
7. Theories Of Chaos
8. Cuts And Bruises
9. Necrophobia

10. Reflections Of You
11. First Person Shooter
12. Losing My Religion (R.E.M. Cover)
13. Purple

All the songs in red are the songs i'm most proud of.

Killa_47 06-19-2004 10:05 AM

I'm also currently in a band well i just sing and everyone plays and we perform for money at school.........we havn't made our own songs but we sing other band songs.

We sing The Rasmus the most especially 'The First Day Of My Life'

Disgruntled Intern 06-19-2004 11:51 AM

I've been in several bands over the years.

All of which have been really popular in the local 'hardcore' scene.

However, my newest project, Emo Pirates in Love is an all acustic parody emo band. We all dress up like homosexual pirates whilst singing our insulting/derrogatory/controversial songs.

We've played three live shows, and have had great response. Some of our songs include:

Beat the jews

It's hip to be fat

Dirty dirty wetbacks

Small dick for my boys to lick

And of course, Hitler [the only man I'd have sex with] Which is a parody of the original goldfiner song 'wayne gretzky, the only man I'd have sex with.'

Our goal is to sound good while pissing everyone off. So far I've had 3 beer bottles thrown at me. I'd say it's working.

Aah used to be in 2 bands many years ago. Yes I shall be expecting my copy of your first CD when you become superstars!

Mac the Janitor 06-19-2004 12:56 PM

I am currently trying to form my band with my buddy who plays drums and my ex who plays bass. We are looking for a guitarist and singer. I am keyboard and backup guitarist.

Killa_47 06-19-2004 11:20 PM

not

Hobo 06-19-2004 11:24 PM

DI. Your band sounds great, any chance of an MP3 or something?

I'm not in a band - I have no talent, though my sister's starting one up, she's looking for a drummer and a Bass player.

Facsimile 06-19-2004 11:58 PM

Yeah I'm in a band. I'm a bassist. We are called Inertia and we play metal. And in my personal opinion we kick serious arse.

Coiled Ice 06-20-2004 12:30 AM

Yay metal!

ferill, what kind of music does your band play?

Disgruntled Intern, your band sounds very amusing and I would like to hear them songs.

I'm not in a band. My friends are though, well, they need a couple of guitarists and a bass player. I'm gonna be their groupie. I'm also going to rub oil on them and let them throw whisky bottles at me. Hmm... sad thing is that'll probably happen. Not the oil bit but the whisky bottles.

Fez 06-20-2004 12:33 AM

We play Alternative rock. I guess you could say that we are Muse meets Placebo's past.

Coiled Ice 06-20-2004 01:02 AM

Sounds pretty cool :).

Pure Morning - Placebo
That's a cool video clip too!

Disgruntled Intern you have your septum pierced!! If that is you in your avatar, of course.

Arnt the bass players just so much better?

EDIT: Fax has mentioned his band many times. I'll now just say that I really hope that they do become famous and that all the hard work will pay off. Good luck guys. We could even end up touring together. *scary thought*

Rex Tirano 06-20-2004 06:03 AM

I don't even want to think what you 2 would get up to >_<

At the moment I'm not in a band. But a while back I went crazed and decided to try and organize a band (It was awful, me and my friends came up with the most terrible names >_<) . But bearing in mind I'm the least talented person you're likely to ever meet. It never worked out....

Fez 06-20-2004 08:53 AM

What? What do you mean Rexy darling?

Incorrect, CJ is the person with the smallest amount of talentness in the world.

VaniLLaKiLLah 06-20-2004 09:51 AM

I'm not playing or singing in any band.
I'm talent-free (at least in musical things).

.:VaniLLaKiLLah:.

Disgruntled Intern 06-20-2004 10:05 AM

Yes my septum is pierced.

No, there are no MP3 files as of yet. We're still finalizing our sound, for the most part.

I'll try to get a hold of my better half as she took tons of pictures at our last show.

Khanzumer 06-20-2004 10:31 AM

I'm in a band.

*THUMBS UP FOR FEZ*
Damn caps!

*too lazy and tired to edit*

I'd like to hear some of the songs.
At least I think I would. I'm not sure right now.

My phone's out of power.

Fax has mentioned his band many times.

Yep, same band still going strong. If anything stronger. We have actually chucked out a lot of our old songs and we have evolved a lot. Unfortunately that means now we only have two and a half songs.

I'll now just say that I really hope that they do become famous and that all the hard work will pay off. Good luck guys.
Thanks a lot, same to you guys.

Lol, something tells me we would never be on the same playlist but it's nice thought.

Here are two pictures of us playing at our Regional finals of the Rock Quest. They aren't the best pictures to see individual people, but the first give you a slight idea of what the band looks like (we have few pictures of us together) and the second an idea of the crowd we played to.

Coiled Ice 06-21-2004 12:51 AM

Aww! the dude with the long hair!! Your band looks awesome, Facsimile!

oddguy 06-21-2004 06:22 AM

I'm not in a band, but I've always been interested in music. I make up these songs in my head with tunes and such. I know if I actually worked on my songs and released them they wouldn't be copycats of everything else.

-oddguy

Sekto Springs 06-21-2004 08:22 AM

Me and my friends came up with a band called Bash66, but it never became a reality. I write my own little scary musics in my dark room and play them to myself.

I do love Danny Elfman and he always gives me inspiration.

Leeum 06-21-2004 08:27 AM

I've been in a band for about a year now. We're called Addiction. We play Punk music, anything from The Sex Pistols, NOFX, Pennywise, Lagwagon, Rancid etc. I'm on Bass and backing vocals. We came second at our school's Battle of the Bands last year and played a gig a few months back at a soical club, the video is coming out soon so i'll se if i can get it hosted for you guys to look at. We've just reformed as my guitarist was torn away into another band but we're getting loads of gigs lined up. Good to hear there's so many bands out there. Anyone else here into Punk?

Fez 06-21-2004 08:43 AM

Update: Steve has got a riff for "Theories Of Chaos" and it sounds great, at the minuet its our second best riff, after "First Person Shooter"s simple, but very good one.

Gah, arguements in the band at the min over what song to put on our album. We are stuck with either "Get Out" or "Englishman" both are very good songs, so we'll porbably end up having a vote. Personally i think "Englishman" is a better song.

oddguy 06-21-2004 10:27 AM

Ferill, I really want to hear these songs! Is there anyway you can at least publish a small clip on a website?

-oddguy

Khanzumer 06-21-2004 11:04 AM

What, no responses for me? Seriously folks, my band is awesome. If you don;t think so tell me why. I want some feedback.

oddguy 06-21-2004 11:09 AM

Oh, yeah...I listened to it. I was just surprised you had it up on a website. I wasn't sure if it was your band or if you were just joking. I sometimes get in the middle of old forum jokes that I don't understand and I end up looking retarded. I thought I'd wait until somebody else commented on ya.

Anyway...I liked your band very much. Who does the lead vocals?

-oddguy

Lalalalalala!

Khanzumer 06-21-2004 02:12 PM

I'm the singer. Feel free to diss on me if you want, I'd probably agree with you. The way I like to sing occasionally has problems adjusting itself to the bands current style of play. I'm also a drummer.

Our band is actually having some commitment problems right now. Hopefully we can get everything sorted out this summer and work on writting and recording some better stuff. We are definitely cooler live than recorded, we have a lot more energy.

sorry mate, but I currently do not own my Bass Guitar, so there wont be any clips for a while. I could get Steve to record some of his stuff though.

ANN NEELY 06-26-2004 08:14 AM

I'm thinking of making a band called Death Toast Madness, but I'll have to learn to play guitar first.

Mojo 06-27-2004 04:22 AM

I used to be in a band, we covered some songs.
RHCP - Californication (my fave)
Guns 'n Roses - Knockin' on Heaven's Door
Beatles - Let it Be
RHCP - Under the Bridge
Lenny Kravitz - Are you gonna go my way
Three Doors Down - Kryptonite
Bryan Adams - Summer of '69
Sum 41 - In too Deep
Golden Earring - Radar Love

And some more, can't quite remember.

We had a drummer, 2 guitarists, a bassist, and me, volcals.

Why did we quit? Well, final exams were there, and we had to study.
Why didn''t we continue? Cuz most of the band-members were gonna study all over the country (including me)

Fez 06-29-2004 07:41 AM

Right, I am getting a new Bass Guitar! I'm ordering it through my school too, which means it will be very very cheap!

Got a list of B-sides that me and the crew have written. These songs wont be on the album, so we'll probably record them and put them on EP's, singles etc etc.

Englishman
I'm Happy For You
Love
Blood & Bullets
Objects May Be Closer Then They Appear
Cold Summer
Spectrum
Outbreak 17
Bad Judgment
Deep Wounds
Big Brother Theme
At My Most Beautiful (R.E.M. Cover)
Days Before You Came (Placebo Cover)

the songs in red have no lyircs to them, they are just tunes really. Long interludes if you will.

EDIT: Were not going to cover a Muse song, instead we are going to write a song about them as a tribute. We have alos changed the Placebo song that we are going to cover.

Khanzumer 06-29-2004 08:01 AM

How long have you been in a band? Just curious. My bands been playing together for about four years. The next two years are going to be really big for us and then after graduation I don't know what will happen.

Our goal is to have recorded an album by the end of summer. Our rythm guitarist/keyboardist/producer has a nice recording studio.

Fez 06-29-2004 08:17 AM

erm....... 3-4 Months *embarassed*

Fading Away 06-29-2004 09:02 AM

I'm friends with ppl in a band called, "Autofocus". They are really cool and very talented ppl! How i adore them all!!:):)

I'm sorry but something is telling me if you have all those songs in that small space of time, they aren't going to be the greatest...

Fez 07-02-2004 09:09 AM

Your absolutelly right Fax, but we have only just stated. All these songs i've ut up are songs i've written, and all of them have only about 30 seconds of tune to them at the mo. We have a LONG way to get to your standards, but we'll make it.

New song:

The Beetles - Lonely People

The rest of the band decided it needed a redoo, and Steve has done that very well so far. Nicks being very lazy though, he hasnt helped Steve in some drums beats for a while......
