Bullet Hole
 

Has anyone else noticed the single bullet hole to be found on the armour Stranger is wearing? It is present in both recent and fairly old images:

Considering Oddworld Inhabitants take the creation of Characters very seriously, and the bullet hole is visible in both new and old images, is it safe to say the bullet hole holds some storyline behind it? Perhaps something that happened in his past. Furthermore, did the bullet fully penetrate his armour, I don't think we can conclude that from what we can see.

I think you're onto something with the storyline thing, or it might just be a detail to add to the effect that he's a bounty hunter, no?

It is very possible the bullet hole is simply an amour detail, I just get the impression it has emotional and storyline significance for Stranger. Perhaps one of the "bosses" is responsible for that bullet hole.

but I didn't tought there could be a whole backstory for that hole... Simply it's a part of the armour and so it's logic to find it back several times, plus the armour has to be quite strong to prevent Stranger to be hurt. I wonder what it's made of...

I understand. It's the fact that there is a single bullet hole, positioned in the area we would assume his heart is (that is, if he has a heart... Steef anatomy illudes me at this point :p). It sort of gives you the impression that he was very close to death. Lol, another possible point arising from this is the impact of nearly dying. Stranger is a beast plagued with emotional trauma, afterall.

Ah, the possibilities are endless.

I'm not quite sure Stranger is a Steef...

anyway, it's perfectly possible, but it wont be more then speculation before additional info is revealed

How could Stranger not be a Steef? It has been confirmed by Alf that he is a Steef. And if he isn't Steef, what makes him different?

As for the bullet hole, I think that it's just an extra touch to his armour, just presenting another element of his realism. I have a thought. What's Stranger's armour made out of? It looks like fragments of leathery material stitched together. Maybe it's the skin of some kind of thick-hided creature. A new creature?

EDIT: After looking at the "bullet hole" in his pancho (that's what I'm calling it) it looks as if the bullet didn't completely pierce the pancho. Looks more like a concave divot than a straight-though hole so maybe it didn't hit him. That's strong pancho-armour. Just observation.

well, I can't find any quote of Alf telling us that Stranger = Steef
there is a mention that Steef is a creature name

maybe he used to be a soldier? And got wounded in battle, but left the hole in his armour to show he survived?

Yes, kinda like he's saying "Don't mess with me! I survived a big bullet". :p

the way to show he is a "man" of battle.

Phrehaps to show that he has exeprince. Xav, did'nt Lorne say on the X-actor that he called him a steef, a quote like "What we did with steef... " and showing us pics of his disigne.

and I belive a third one beneath that one as well.... people don't seem to like him very much.

I circled the bullet holes in red. It's a bit hard to see em, but their there.

I only saw the one the first time i didn't know there were 3 on him this is intresting i also think that there is a storyline behind gettin shot......maybe a fmv wiv it 2 lol

hmmm... does anyone rememnber there were bulletholes in the horns in the previous christmass card.
we know Stranger is going to have horns, I wonder if there is a link

I just noticed something to... he has a scar on his side, right next to the big bullet hole in his armor. It looks like an old wound stil recovering... but with the stiches just took out.

Thats not his skin, its just a tear in his clothing.

no dude! thats his skin... either that or OWI did a realy bad job on making clothing on him.

look under his neck, its a different colour. And lok at his legs, they are the same colour as the "scar" but they have creases in them.

the blueich thing is a shirt, and I don't see the scar you mean

When I saw the bullet dent where his heart would be, I thought it may have some significance in the story, but now finding out there are three holes...I just think it may be neat little details OWI added.

I see the wound. It's obscured by shadow, and it's definitely part of Stranger's green undershirt. The texture of it is weird, though, that's why it might not look like regular fabric.

What is it he's actually wearing? Because if it was an animal, he could have shot it to get it's skin...hence the bullet hole thing. I think he was abandoned as a child by his fellow race and those Salamander things adopted him...

Looks like leather to me. But from the bullet shots, it looks like wood...

well this just proves stranger is either agile or just does a load a sneak kills or hes just not stupid enough to get shot cept once but now we have to ask ourselves how many bullet shots will be shown on his poncho when youve completed stranger?. im betting over 100

I doubt they will show bullet holes on him. That would be a lot of effort for something you really cant see (except for in supersized rendered images like that)
