I have some intresting info on when we might see Steef! Must view this all fans!
 

Guys I don't know about you but I am excited. I was at my local game store which is called "Game Spot" and I knew there wasn't any info on Steef in Magazines but something odd compelled me to ask the store Clerk to print out a copy of the list of all games comming out in 2004. Well I get this list of all the X-Box games and lone and behold in the rainy month of April I see Oddworld!.

But it says "Oddworld Munch's Oddysee 2" What is that all about?

Munch's Oddysee 2? could that be Steef or could it be something we don't know yet? I will let you guys decide. Here are the pictures.

Anyway, since MO wasn't all Lorne, or any of us, wanted it to be, maybe OWI is releasing a second part of MO.....to complete what was lost. That would be very cool indeed!:fuzgrin:

Nice to have an actual date to look forward to now. But I doubt it's literally Munch's Oddysee 2...I think that's just a placeholder name like OW4. Although that would be nice, Oddguy, I seriously doubt that's the case.

Ah... OW4. WHo the hell cares about taht when Doom III is on the list;)

And is the store Game Spot or Gamestop? There's potnetial to get thoses names mixed up. If its Gamestop, no one should care... They freaking gip you.

Get this; I'm in there looking at used PSX games (the only cheap things there) and these people come in needing a new Kingdom Hearts disk (old one was damaged by dog). The price of a used one, with no gurantees on manual, case, etc... is like $5 less than a brand new one. These people were obviously uneducated, and thought there must have been a pricing mistake. No sane person would pay $5 less just to get a used copy of something instead. Gamestop is a bunch of freaking commies.

Wow i hope this date is correct, i was under the impression that it would be out in December 2004 for xmas, i think they mentioned it in the Discovery Special... but who knows maybe they will release it earlier.. we can only hope...

This would be great, though I can hardly imagine OWI is already THAT far with the new game...

THis sounds very suspisious. OWI has given NO hint as to the game being completed. It sounds like maybe this is the date they originally gave to retailers for OW4 just to appease them, but I would be surprised if they push that date back. Or maybe its the date of the bonus game? But then I'm not sure they are doign a bonus game for Munch.

Still, always nice to hope for it. :D

now that DOOM III date......(I'll probably get the X-Box port, although my computer could handle the PC version, it wouldn't do it an justice....but my FRIEND'S system could, heheheh, so I'll probably be hanging around his place a lot whenever it ocmes out)

Well Majic its called GameSpot not GameStop. I go to this place all the time. I diden't get the names mixed up I can definetly assure you that. There is no GameStop in my area there is places called Funco Land, Video Game Exchange, and GameSpot, and then the big stores like Target, Walmart, and BestBuy. I usually get my games at BestBuy because they have the best prices on games in town I think. GameSpot was in the Mall and I was just in there checking out magazines and I just had to ask. But yeah I wouldn't hold my breath quite yet but it is intresting that we have this place holder for Oddworld. You could maybe go to your places and ask for a print out of all the X-Box games comming out in 2004 and you could get the same results. I don't know but thats what they handed me yesturday. But notice they dident give a specific date in April. That alone could mean that the possible date for this could not be set quite yet and that it could very easily change in 5 to 6 months from now. Maybe thats what they are looking at as a possible release time but will change if necessary. Yeah speaking of other titles I can't wait till Driver 3 comes out. I heard that will be so much better then the first two. I am looking forward to that.:D

Alright, maybe it has nothing to do with Munch, but if that is the new date for OW4, then I'm still excited baby! Whoooooo!:D

Woo! Only slightly over half a year to go! Provided this is accurate, that is. I agree that MO: 2 is most likely what the store is calling OW4.

Munch's Oddysee was released November 2001, meaning the entire OWI team have been able to have been working on it for nearly two years - that's plenty enough time to produce a game (the next 6 months included). On the other hand, we all know OWI love to spend plenty of time caring about the production of their games, but on the other hand remember the design team were of course able to begin work while the programmers and marketing team were putting the finishing touches on the game and packaging. But, on the first hand again, I'm pretty sure OWI were also exploring ME following MO's completion.

On a third hand, maybe OWI really have produced a bonus game for Munch's Oddysee, in which case I shall have to lie down for a bit.

But great find, PA, well done.

Either way I'm happy, We have a date when it MAY be released and that is good enough for me for now, as long as it comes out in 2004 I'll be patient.

Yeah, Thats coming out soon, I know the woman who did the voice casting for it, that was a while back...

That's already out in the US.

Munch's Oddysee 2 doesn't even exist on GBA.

Well I am really exited now. I believe OW do take a long time with their games, so perhaps they are trying to speed up a little for the fans...?! (Maybe... :) )

I think the next title will NOT be MO2, b/c MO was a big flop with the OW community... so there :)

DId it have another Oddworld game on it, like "Oddworld: Steef's Oddysee" If not, i'm guessing that's just what they're gonna call Steef's game... But that's just a guess.

It will not be called Steef's Oddysee, since it is not part of the Quintology.

I've just today finished MO on the GBA. And at the end of it, the almighty raisin tells munch and abe to go on a well earned vacation. So i can't imagine seeing them anytime soon.
This game was just too easy, apart from the levels that i got stuck on for a couple of days.

So with OW4 I hope it is april it comes out on, the four games that i've got just wont satisfy me for another year.

Nope that was the only Oddworld game on the list. Whats strange about it is that it says Munch's Oddessy 2 and there is no indication of Steef or Oddworld 4. Just Munch's Oddessy 2. Very suspicious I have to say don't you think?
