should I buy Xbox?
I wonder.
Should I buy Xbox or not. I'm angry that Munch (and other games like Halo) don't come out to Pc. but I don't know if I'm wasting money on something that might disappear in a couple of years!? Help me out!!! |
Halo is coming to the PC.
If you want an Xbox, buy one. If you'd prefer to play Ico or Rez, buy a PS2. If you want Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda GC, Super Monkey Ball, Super Metroid, Luigi's Mansion and Pikmin, *drools* buy a GameCube. There aren't many great exclusives but there are some like Jet Set Radio Future. To come: Blinx, Fable, et al. Personally, if I could only have one next-generation console, (but I can have more! Haha) I'd probably want a GameCube. Edit: I don't know much about Microsoft's future plans for the Xbox (apart from Xbox Live) but I know Nintendo are planning to keep the GameCube for a long time before they replace it with a new console and concentrate on the games (good lard, have you seen the games? *drools*). |
I want an Xbox. But if there is going to be a Xbox2 soon, and Munch E will be on it, I might want to wait. I want it confirmed. (Xbox planes)

There are plenty of good things about Xbox. Go to Toys R Us and pick up a free booklet called "70 Reasons Why You HAVE To Get An Xbox." With the hard drive, it has much greater capabilities than the others, such as upgrading games or the system itself. And it won't dissapear in a couple of years. I don't think Microsoft is going anywhere soon.

But me friends say that: "Xbox sucks!"

Really? Is that the only difference from the original one?
|
That's what I heard. I think it's a bit stupid to do that. Not enough people are buying the original so what do they do? Add more useless features and increase the price. That'll work. Stupid bastards, they're going to kill the Xbox brand by associating it with shite like Tivo. That's almost as sacreligious as running the Atari brand into the ground, which is exactly what infograms are doing.

I know more about XBOX, PS2, and Gamecube then anyone else(probably not true), so take my word on the following.
Gamecube: Gamecube's line up is mostly made up of games for a young audience and a lot of long running first party titles with familiar mascots, including Mario, Zelda, Star Fox, etc. Nintendo has had a long backround with games and consoles, so you should be gettng your money's worth. Gamecube is small, portable, and affordable($150). Gamecube came out a couple months ago, so should be here for a long time. Current Rating: *** Future Rating: **** Playstation 2: Plastation 2's line up is quite varied with a lot of developers behind games like Metal Gear Solid 2, Grand Theft Auto 3, Jak and Daxter, etc. Sony joined the console era with the original Playstation in 1995, which was a big success among consoles; The Playstation 2 seems to be following in its footsteps. Playstation 2 is sleek and costs $50 more then Gamecube. The Playstation 2 has been out for quite awhile, with Playstaion 3 around the corner it might not be smart to buy it so late into the race. Current Rating: ***** Future Rating: *** XBOX: XBOX's line up is made up of a good variety of games such as Halo, DOA3, Munch's Oddysee, etc. XBOX is a newcomer into the console industry; its had a good start so far with help from the mega-hit Halo and looks to have a good future. XBOX is big, but for a good reason; it is the most powerful of the three systems, wit superior graphics and a hard drive. XBOX costs as much as Playstation 2 does. At the moment XBOX is good but I think it will be even better in the near future with the addition of online gaming. Current Rating: **** Future Rating: ***** Current winner: Playstation 2 : Future winner: XBOX *The ratings are purely my opinion. |
Once I heard all the new Odd games were coming to X-Box, and got over an unhealthy loyalty to PS2, I knew I had to get one. Besides, free sno-cones are a rather good job benefit for a 14-year-old.

Halo for Pc? That's really new news for me. Last thing i've heard was that microsoft wanted to "wait a bit" (I take "wait a bit" as a couple of years) before Halo comes out. Really hope you're right Gluk Schmuck.
But Munch's still on Xbox, somebody who knows if it's gonna come out on PC? If munch's coming out for Pc, I'll *almost* hug munch. |
Halo's not getting its cross platform PC-MAC release until 2003. Rargh!

2. Am I ever wrong? 3. I know there's going to be a substandard semi-port to the GBA. (I still can't belive a good port of Munch's Oddysee could be made to the GBA). If Munch's Oddyee is anything to go by, there's really no point waiting for the other games. They'll only sell-out and go even more mass-market with the future installments anyway. {I've just had a thought. I wonder if I sold MO and PGR, maybe I could afford a GC on Thurday... Hmm... I've just checked the possibility in my accounts spreadsheet and I'm happy.} |
I'd say the Gamecube is worth getting just for that Godzilla fighting game. If it's half as good as it looks, and you get to play Gamerra, I'd sell my video card for one of those consoles.
They better have great sound bytes of screaming Japanese pedestrians. |
:
I'd say it's going to be worth getting if only for a Jap/US Sunshine and a Freeloader. |
Well, as my "fan-boyish moron" friends say... These Exclusives never hold.
The creators of Halo have realised that PC rules!:) HA HA! Say what you want. It will only be a untrue defence of your precios consol! :) |
Umm...actually...
Xbox, technically, is a PC. Except it is designed specifically to play games. So Xbox's games will be far greater than PC, because it takes all of the room usually used for Internet, word processing and downloading programs and uses it to play games. So, actually, they realized that even though Xbox is way better than PC, they would get a lot more money if they made it for PC, too. |
:
2. No. I think they always had plans to release it for PC and Mac, you fanboy. 3. Urm. Right. I don't care what you think, you're a fanboy. |
Casual gamers? NO they LOVE consol games and buy games all the time... (besides Supernintendo, GB and GBA roms, wich they download). And ofcourse burn most games now a days. But they like consolls.
The Xbox graphics are allready far behind. And the system will be. |
It all depends on who who you are and what you want it for...
|
:
GPU speeds: Xbox: 233MHz PS2: 147.456 MHz GameCube: 202.6 MHz Have you even played Halo or DOA3? |
If you're after graphics, upgrade your PC.
