What's the most annoying thing you can find on a website?
No, I'm not planning on doing anything evil on my site. :) Just curious.

Why aren't cookies on this? You need to activate cookies to view this, after you view it you will attempt to delete it by clicking on the x. But it will come back and back and back. also, this site will soon be updated and broken links are crappy too!

Pop-ups (automatic ones) are the worst thing a site can have. Whether they are relevant or just advertising ones... they are irritating... I just close them without bothering to look at them now days.
And worse than that are popups which make it difficult to close (i.e. greyed out X button or no buttons). And ones that keep going (i.e. close one, and 5 more open up). Abe Babe... |
Urg, I thought was getting over pop-ups, but this just brings the memory of them flooding back.
I'd like to vote for most of those things, but I guess if I had to choose one it would be slow loading times. Slow loading only occurs on my computer when I'm in an incredible hurry, which is something that doesn't put me in the best of moods. |
Well I voted slow loading times. It might not be annoying on some sites but on message boards, it's a killer.
But 404 Error -- File Not Found also really annoys me. |

Comic Sans. Any kind of advert, especially ones where you take control of a monkey to shoot things. disgusting colour schemes. all geocities sites. sites where when you've clicked a link it turns a foul colour. sites made using frontpage templates. porn sites that reconnect you to their own connection or put an icon on your desktop without asking. ;) The list goes on. |

2. That's never happened to me before. Have you clicked 'yes' when they ask you to install a component? That's another thing. Websites that ask you to install something and websites that require a plug-in that nobody's heard of. |

Well just like everyone else I'd have to say pop-ups, especialy when they take over your computer and start telling you to do things!

How can anyone find Times New Roman annoying? It's a great font.
Comic Sans is annoying because some idiots use it as the main font for websites, posters and such. It's acceptable to use it for titles but not for the main body because it is neither a serif or sans-serif font, which are the only legeble types of font. |

Broken links and red crosses. But only when you really want to see the picture/get to the site... It's just so annoying when you want to go somewhere and you can't...
