New N' Tasty for PC

Hello there! When will know more information of the PC version of the game? Release Date, Price, system requirements, pre-order in steam, DLCs & Extras ...?

Crashpunk 07-15-2014 08:53 AM

We know nothing. All we know that it is coming eventually. Date is TBA.

DarkHoodness 07-15-2014 11:06 AM

It's exclusively on PS4 for a month. There are rumors that it'll be released on other platforms after the month is up, but nothing's been officially announced.

On system requirements:

I predict that it'll be able to run on low end systems, as it runs on unity. This is not to discredit unity, rather the opposite. Unity is versatile enough that it can run on low end systems with at least slightly acceptable FPS, and it can run on high end systems and look gorgeous.

On Price:

It should just still be 30$ USD

haha nice reference

I wish this thread was official, among which are interested in buying the PC version (Windows, Mac or Linux) and between us to start thinking about things that might be in the PC version or not ...

For example ... The PC version would be compatible with xbox 360 controller? I remember Stranger's Wrath for PC yes ...

I hope JAW members (Gilrod, Wil, jaw_alex, etc.) go through the thread and give more clues ;)

I can't imagine it won't be compatible with a controller tbh. Especially because the flagship version was for a console, surely the PC port will have that kind of functionality already built in.

Crashpunk 07-17-2014 02:29 PM

What havoc said. I can imagine it'll work for a PS4 controller as well.

This is awesome, since I don't have the strongest PC. (I've got a entry priced 8GB RAM quadcore laptop, which however has a shitty integrated Radeon graphics solution.)

So I hope they programmed it to be more CPU dependant rather than the GPU. But in the worst case, I just play in lower resolution... Will just look like the PS3 version, then. :D

If some JAW guy happens to notice this thread; will the Steam version have those Steam trading cards? I'd love to make myself a sweet Oddworld badge to showcase on my profile.

Crashpunk 07-20-2014 09:34 AM

^this.

Also the Steam achievements too.

Kinda sucks that this is the case, oh well, guess I wont be streaming the game for at least a month lol. At least when I do it'll be smoother and I can use my keyboard.

I really hope it has full Steamworks support, including trading cards, achievements and leaderboards. Especially the trading cards tend to be a nice little side income for the game when they're sold and bought through the market.

I don't care if this is a remake, it's the closest OWI has come in years to actually releasing a new game and I am excited as hell! Don't mind waiting an extra month, gives me time to go and get an Oddworld Tattoo to celebrate! Seriously i'm getting one done! Come on Oddworld! Sell loads of this game! Make tons of moolah and give me a good Munch game!!!

I guess it would be. I'm currently replaying AO with an x-box controller (steam version, i don't know when they added that though) and it's a nice experience so I would assume that the remake will work as well. I just don't know how quicksave and quickload will work though

Scrabaniac 07-30-2014 05:58 AM

Do you reckon the PS4 could get some Oddworld Avatars? I don't like being the Smiley faces because they are the only decent ones on there..

Havoc 07-30-2014 11:21 AM

I'm still amazed that both the PS and the Xbox don't support user uploaded avatars. I mean, come on. What year is it?

Crashpunk 07-30-2014 12:42 PM

The PS4 does kinda. It can take your Profile picture off Facebook and use it on your PS Profile.

Wait, since when did that happen? I always needed third-party controller stuff to make that work.

STM 07-30-2014 02:13 PM

I can play it on my xbox controller but the button mapping is godawful and unchangeable.

I downloaded the Playstation app for my Samsung phone and it had an option to edit my avatar from my phone. My current avatar is the very same one I use on this forum.

For more you can read here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=2546624 (though i didn't have to do the steps they described, this guide is probably for windows vista, on my win 7 64bit it worked without doing anything other than installing the proper drivers).

But the menu pops up whenever i accidentally press the left analog stick (the menu button doesn't do anything) and it's a bit of a problem in intense parts of the game

Given the type of people I've come across, that may be a good decision. I imagine endless porn avatars.

MeechMunchie 08-02-2014 05:27 PM

I'm thinking of a solution, and it rhymes with "deport mutton".

Microsoft is lazy about that, though. They'd rather be sure that you only can choose from a list of Microsoft-approved pictures, and only have to worry about inappropriate/offensive names.

MeechMunchie 08-02-2014 09:50 PM

I was thinking about Sony, mainly. I've long since given up on expecting Microsoft to update anything.

Havoc 08-08-2014 09:37 AM

According to a comment on Facebook 'there's at least a couple of months work' before the PC version is released.

https://www.facebook.com/OfficialOdd...89495874420754

So abandon any hope for an August or even September release date is basically the idea? This sucks.

STM 08-08-2014 10:18 AM

Man that's a shame. Well I guess I'll put NnT on my Christmas list then.

Manco 08-08-2014 10:53 AM

I wonder what the ETA is for the other console releases then — are they on the same timescale or will they all be out before the PC version?
