Sports...Do you partake or watch?
Any one play sport here? Or watch, or hate? Discuss.
I played Rugby for a total of 12-13 years now at two different clubs. Lordy me, just started again and realised I actually have a fair bit of pace...only I also have the stamina of a panda. And I guess that isn't much. |
Partake in sports? You must be joking?
Okay, I just work out. No actual team sports or anything that requires you to run over an actual field instead of a threadmill. |
I do both, I am going to the gym again but I do crunches at home until I can get a membership. But I haven't been to a gym for nine months so I won't be able to bench shit, then again I only need to do stamina work so meh.

I used to do HEMA and I'm looking to get back into kendo next year.
|
I really wanted to do kendo but I didn't want to travel miles for the club. =( seems fun.
|
It is fun, but like fencing or really anything involving a weapon it's way waaaaaaayyyy harder than it looks.
Also armour is fucking expensive, which is the reason why I quit first time round. |
I did fencing once and won one out of the two tourneys so I wasn't great but Kendo seems, in my humble opinion, more interesting, a fight can last seconds or ten minutes!
Did you not get the armour free with the club though? Or like a one of payment? Seems funny they'd make you cash out so much. |
:
I used to be really health conscious and still am a little bit. My main sport was Kickboxing and I'm currently sitting on Brown Belt 1st Dan for the last three years. I'm considering going back so I can get my Black in it but my flexibility is shot now so if I want to do it, intense fucking training is ahead of me. I also used to play basketball and I used to play it well but I gave up on that because I didn't really enjoy playing for a team, I'd play it now-a-days if it was a one on one or two-on-two with one net. And no, you have to pay for the gear because it is so expensive, but you buy it through the club so you'll get their discount on it. |
Street basket ball is fun, I entered a tourney for that too but everyone else was 6'4+ and black so I was pretty beat.
|
Swim, Gym, keeps me slim.
Also a bit of Rugby, but that doesn't rhyme. Plus I walk everywhere. But I despise televised sports. Either play it yourself or do something more constructive. |
I don't like a sports, Football is the worst. I can't stand how the players get paid so much money to kick a ball around for 90 minutes.
The only sport I do is Parkour which also known as Freerunning. Its fun to see what you can do in diffrent locations and you don't have to buy specal equipment to do it. |
I hate sports. But I like to watch motorsports. I dont know if that counts.
|
I'm a runner traditionally, but I haven't done any since school, more because of the effort of putting on some trainers and heading outside than anything else. I did go to the gym for a few months last year, but I didn't gain any weight, so I quit.
Other than that, the only exercise I've had in the past five years has been walking and dance. Watching sport? Couldn't give the vaguest of tosses. |
:
Maxy, are you still in the swing dance club? I remember there was a video of you all dancing, you were really good. :) I used to be really sporty as a kid but then I became an awkward teen... Ah well. But I'm going to take up the gym over the summer, my immune system is rubbish and I'm hoping some regular exercise should help it improve. I don't usually like televised sports but I do enjoy the superbowl. It's just so big and loud and unBritish-y, I think it's really interesting. - Rexy |

And yeah. Our university has clubs for most things. |

I like to play tennis, but that's about the only real sport that I'm any good at. I used to fool myself into thinking I was good at baseball, but thinking back, I don't think I've ever actually scored a hit.
|
I practice Shotokan Karate for, around, 15 years and played basketball for 4 years. I also like to go to the gym and just mainly swimming and running without clubs or associations. But since now I'm in University, I don't do these things as much as I'd like.
Watching sports? No thanks, too boring. |
I've never taken part in sport, and I never am. Not interested. I eat a shitload of food everyday and I post on here everyday and I'm as skinny as a freaking stick.
Is there something wrong with me? Oh, right, I'm posting from school again O.o |
I go to the gym and ride my bike.
Other than that, I don't really like sports. I was always way too uncoordinated to be any good and I'm not by nature a competitive person. Also, I really don't understand the point of spectating other people doing sport. |
That's also me, I have abs to impress the ladies:)
|
I'm too afraid of injuring my arm or face and not being able to play my flute to partake in sport. I considered kendo for a while, but I soon decided to put my flute first.
|
Wow, that is so nerd O.o
I must admit, even I don't play the flute. |

Occasionally play basketball or football.
I watch football a lot. I play FIFA a lot. MMMHMMM |
im playing rugby tomorrow :)
athough even though i play it i dont watch it that much |
I don't really have a hobby, but I swim a lot in the summer. At least once every day. It's fun!
|
I hate the water. It's always cold for me, even in the summer.
|
SWEATY MEN HUGGING EACH OTHER? I AM SO IN THAT I AM IN.
|
I seem to remember having this conversation about rugby and men hugging eachother in the mud a while back.
