AO 2.0 Console?
 

I am trying to get the most out of my steam purchase, I've played through with 99 muds saved, I heard there's a console by pressing F1, It just brings up the version and date created. Is there a console on 2.0 and if there is how do you bring it up? Thanks to anyone who can help me.

That's just the about screen message box, I wouldn't call it a console. You can view the same info by looking at the games executable properties. Pressing alt+f4 will give you a "quick exit" message box too.

What do you mean by 2.0? Are you talking about AE?

AO is version 2.0 according to its about box:

1.0 had some PS1 graphics that were eradicated in 2.0, or something similar.

Look at the about screen box I posted and what Max said.. its 2.0! 2.0 has no meaning though, its not used anywhere an its only specific to the PC version. Same way AE is 1.0

Which is what F1?`? what button do you press to open the console window.

Do you have 1.0? I didn't realize that 1.0 was publicly released? Seems its extremely rare? :(

If I remember correctly (Most probably wrong) they released a quick patch because 1.0 was glitchy and incompatible with some computers.

I don't have a copy. I think I remember someone saying something about a version of AO with different graphics somewhere.

Let's stop talking about the 2.0 thing. HOW DO YOU ACCESS THE CONSOLE?

That's what he means by 'console window'. Whether that terminology is accurate or not is irrelevant, because that's what he's talking about.

A debug window that when you enter specific code modifies the game, I heard there's one for AO but I can't seem to find one.

It would be similar to all of valve's (Portal, half life, TF) and activision's games (COD, MOH etc)

Nothing like that has been documented in AO/AE. I doubt it would exist.

That was me. I had it before, and lost it, and I'm kind of desperately trying to find it again.
About the console, when I looked at the disassembled AE I couldn't find any key combination that would trigger anything like a console. I doubt AO had something similar. Could you specify where you "heard there's a console"?

I've spent a long time screwing around with AO, I'm 99% sure there is NOT a console in the game.

Only debug feature is I_AM_YOUR_FATHER (at least only that I know about)

I can't find the site, but it said you could acess the console with F1, and enter 'GODMODE=1' you'd be invincible, but I can't do it.

You read it on a site? Well, that sure negates everything we've said!

But seriously, you should always link "some site" the only thing that has GODMODE=1 that I know of is FPS games. AO only has developer mode or trainers which can make you un-killable.
