The Least Socially Acceptable Curse Word
 

I know that this isn't much of a thread, but I really don't mean for it to be a spam thread just for the sake of making a thread.

Anyway, I always thought that fuck was the really bad one, but I seem to get a worse response from people when I say Goddamn.

What do you guys find to be the most offensive?

Cunt, very much so in England, less so in Glasgow.

Yeah. That one is seriously frowned upon here, as well.


In retrospect, this is a really stupid thread.

No one i kow takes offence to " Goddam". As with Wof, "Cunt" is the no - no.

Cunt is just about the only curse I wouldn't use in public.

I use it quite often at work. I called the sales manager a 'whiny cunt' the other day. He was being a whiny cunt.

He thanked me afterwards. Said it helped him put it into perspective. Man, what a cunt.

In Holland probably Kanker, which means cancer and has established itself as a curseword over the years. I use it myself quite a lot out of habit, it has so many nice K's to throw out.

I only use "cunt" in a humorous context. I think it's probably the most vile thing you can call a woman.

And yeah, people get in a tizzy when you use "God" in just about any phrase.

Cunt is the be all end all. I've seen my parents shriek at each other like no tomorrow and get over it within hours, but whenever 'cunt' is used it's like "WOOOOOOOOAH"

Man I dunno... Swear words tend to fly past my ears. I never give them much thought, But I do use them a lot. "Fuck" is a pretty normal word in Denmark, that everyone uses(at least young people do).

I guess such words as "Luder" is a really bad one. A lot of girls take offense to it. It means "hooker" or "whore" or something.


Anyway, I simply LOVE romanian swears. They are simply so satisfying to say. I just wish I could remember them, and it has a lot of sharp pronunciations to emphasize everything. I always found swears with sharp pronunciation more effective.
One sentence sounds something like this: "Fututsi Pizda Masi" which means "Fuck her/his mother's cunt" >_< It's so horrible, yet satsfying. It's also a pretty normal swear. I wish I could remember more.

Edit: The sentecned can always be said like this: "Fututi Pizda Matii" which translates to "Fuck your mothers cunt"

i must live in a heathen village, because blaspheming isn't considered any kind of swearing whatsoever. i have yet to be reprimanded for exclaiming any sort of blasphemy. don't say 'god damn' at all, but 'damn it' is used a lot. they're considered 'old man' swearwords. my most common ones would be 'bloody hell', 'jesus christ' and 'bugger'.

fuck, bollocks and shit are all alright if you're in a pub among friends, for instance, but outside its frowned upon. and the word 'cunt' is terrible. once, my uncle was explaining how to calve a 'breech' calf, and i said without thinking; "so, once the legs start coming out the cunt-" to which i got a bloody hard cuff around the head.

i have never uttered it since unless very angry at someone/something.

Cunt is one of the harshest and most effective words in existence.

I still think the romanian swears beats all.. While most countries use only one words, or a combination of one-words(example: You fucking fuckcunt fuckedy fuck fuck ... I know no one actually says that), us Romanians use whole sentences to describe really vulgar and offensive acts. It's not even made-up either. They've been accepted as mere swear words for.. ages.

I never liked "cunt", and I (most of the time) refrain from using it even if I'm just joking. Really, none of the others bother me. It just depends who I'm with - I'll say almost anything if I'm just with my friends, but if it's somebody who I'm not incredibly close to, I try to be as polite and well-mannered as possible (unless I think they're utter cretins).

I always try to behave around teachers and stuff. But I always screw up. I tend to use the word "fuck" mindlessly, and I'm pretty sure I slipped up a few times today at school :(

Cunt was the big one for a while. Now I use it in place of fuck when I want to mix things up a little.

At my school cunt is one of the more loosely used swear words. Wannabe gangsters use it all the time. What'd yah say 'bout mah mum cunt? I would say probably slut. People use it behind each others back all the time but if you call someone a slut, to their face, the result is generally quite bad.

id say there are less socially acceptable words than cunt, some racial slurs have more of an effect especially in public, but its always going to depend on context

Nigger and cunt seem to be the worst. To get away with it just say nigger around cunts and cunt around niggers.

I never use the word "nigger" or "faggot" separately, though when they're put together it sounds so over-the-top that it's utterance is automatically assumed to be sarcasm. Unless of course you're one of those obnoxious twelve-year-olds that frequents Quake Live or Myspace.

Separately though, those are two words that fall under "hurtful terms". Even when having a good-natured pissing contest with a friend, those are two words I never drop. Ever.

I do, however, find some "fag" based words to be pretty hilarious. "Fagola" is right up there.

Faggots are also food.

And fags are cigarettes.

Really? Where I live the word faggot is thrown around very frequently and I feel no shame or remorse in taking or dealing it.

Then again, I live in Glasgow.

"Fag" comes with multiple definitions, but its reserved almost exclusively for derogatory use in the US.

That's up there with goofy, South Park style insults. I don't think of it as insulting, just funny.
