And then people would be like "Oh, a new Oddworld game", and then be disappointed to find that it is only a remake. I think it has to have RE or Oddysee in there somewhere.

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee New 'n' Tasty

Nepsotic 09-03-2012 09:10 AM

Like somebody else said, it should just have New 'n' Tasty as a sub-heading, not in the actual title.

I was just about to come on and quote my post of that idea, but yes, I'm glad other people agree it would suit more as an extra than the actual name of the game. I think we can trust JAW to name the actual game something sensible.

Asmoden 09-03-2012 11:47 AM

Maybe, just to kill time, we should make an official ranking/vote.

Nepsotic 09-03-2012 04:55 PM

But that would be utterly pointless.

It could end up like the 'Dub the Dew' contest. 'Oddworld: Hitler did nothing wrong'.

'Oddworld: Hitler did nothing wrong'.

I thought Lorne burnt all evidence of that game ever being planned?

I agree, but I'm not sure that's in the cards.

EDIT: Also, wasn't today the today they were going to reveal the chosen name?

The Odd Side of The Moon

GlukkonGluk 09-04-2012 09:45 AM

Has anyone considered simply: "Abe"?
Simple, effective, to the point. There is an element of intrigue: who is this Abe? I want to know more! There is a certain memorability to the one-syllable word. There is the suggestion that this character is something to care about. There is a possible link to the name "Abraham" and the connotations that come with it that may interest certain people. Well? Am I or am I not a genius? :P

Bullet Magnet 09-04-2012 10:33 AM

The Lord of the Blue Rings: The Brew Towers.

Nepsotic 09-04-2012 10:55 AM

No, that shall be saved for the AE remake.

That is probably the best suggestion in the past few pages, to be fair.

Bullet Magnet 09-04-2012 11:13 AM

Abraham Lure: Portal Hunter.

It's too hard to google just "Abe".

Umm, no.

Asmoden 09-04-2012 01:42 PM

Those are the best for me.

Abe's oddysee new 'n' tasty
Abe's exoddux extra bone

OANST 09-04-2012 01:53 PM

It is decided.

Bullet Magnet 09-04-2012 02:54 PM

That means we'll have to retroactively rename the original to distinguish it in conversation. Any ideas?

Varrok 09-04-2012 03:01 PM

If AO: New 'n' Tasty passes, we can call the original one AO: OANST

Bullet Magnet 09-04-2012 03:03 PM

It was an obvious set up, but it worked. For once.

OANST 09-04-2012 03:05 PM

I made it a couple pages ago, but it's still a good one. And I think we should run with it.

Bullet Magnet 09-04-2012 03:08 PM

You did? Ah shit. That's probably why it seemed to write itself.

STM 09-05-2012 01:30 AM

Guyz! I just realised, we have to cater to a modern market by working 'z' into the name somehow. Abe'z Questz...or something.

That's what old people think the whippersnappers use, yet I've never even seen anyone use 'Z' as a replacement for the 'S'.

OddjobAbe 09-05-2012 07:20 AM

I think he's joking about "ratz" and all that kind of shit.

Yeah, I know. It's a bit ridiculous.

Varrok 09-05-2012 07:27 AM

I thought it's not cool anymore

STM 09-05-2012 07:57 AM

It's always cool. It has a timeless quality about it.

Varrok 09-05-2012 09:47 AM

Radical!

Bullet Magnet 09-05-2012 10:10 AM

It's called Xtreme Kool Letterz.

Umm, no.

When, then?

Wil 09-06-2012 09:38 AM

When we decide on one. I think we're homing in on something.
