That unofficial Abe poster I got from Amazon takes up most of my wall. It's ginormous.

PalezQkkeli 05-13-2010 07:44 AM

I own tons of old LP vinyls. Mostly Rush related, but there's loads of other rock-bands like Rainbow etc..

Am I the only boring person that didn't like playing and/or collecting action figures :( I liked magnets. I still do. Got all kinds of magnets and magnet related gadgets..

I didn't really start collecting action figures until the last year or so, and even when I was little I had a scant collection of toys.

I had an ATOMIC SHITPILE of Lego though, ended up selling it for 50 bucks. Eh.

Anyway, here's some pictures I took over the last week, I got a new camera, so now they will look slightly better.

FUCK, getting all four of these posed was a pain in the dick. Worth it, though. I fucking love Stikfa.

Also this guy came with another box I'm going to be working on for the next fortnight or so.

MeechMunchie 06-04-2010 12:23 PM

You should clip your toenails.

MA 06-05-2010 02:56 AM

i read that box as 'Gundam Ashtray' at first, and i thought "what a good idea".

OANST 06-05-2010 06:19 AM

Do they come with a special lamp to shine on the sword so that it makes that funny dot of reflected light?

If not, false advertising.

Wings of Fire 06-05-2010 08:58 AM

Honestly I think a giant robot having a katana is sillier than any amount of laser beams.

OANST 06-05-2010 10:49 AM

Have to agree. You wouldn't think that these things are designed for close combat.

Strike Witch 06-05-2010 03:52 PM

The name Gundam is Japanese for "Fuck, this fucker is gonna fucking kill us all with his swords and guns and shit run the fuck away no way in hell do we have a chance shiiiiiiiiiit".

MeechMunchie 06-06-2010 03:48 AM

Gun? Damn.

Mac Sirloin 06-06-2010 01:46 PM

Gun: weapon
Dam: Defense

WoF or Strike Witch taught me that.

Wings of Fire 06-06-2010 01:50 PM

Definitely Strike Witch, I'd have told you that depending on which continuity you watch it's either because they are made of Gundanium alloy (AC), it was a generic name for the prototype along with Guntank and Guncannon (UC/AW/CC) or it's a really retarded acronym meaning General Purpose Utility Non-Discontinuity Augmentation Maneuvering Weapon System (CE).

Strike Witch 06-07-2010 01:48 AM

:

During its conceptual phase, the series was titled Freedom Fighter Gunboy, or simply Gunboy for the gun the robot was armed with, and the primary target demographic were shōnen (boys). In the early production stages, there were numerous references to the word "freedom": the White Base was originally "Freedom's Fortress", the Core Fighter was the "Freedom Wing", and the Gunperry was the "Freedom Cruiser". The Yatate team combined the English word "gun" with the last syllable of the word "freedom" to form the name Gundom. Tomino then changed it to the current title, suggesting that Gundam signified a powerful unit wielding a gun powerful enough to hold back enemies, like a hydroelectric dam holding back floods.

Basically, "a warrior with a Gun who is strong enough to hold back enemies like a dam."

Dixanadu 06-07-2010 09:57 AM

You won't recover.

MA 06-07-2010 09:57 AM

whoa, so hang the fuck on. Gundam doesn't mean "Fuck, this fucker is gonna fucking kill us all with his swords and guns and shit run the fuck away no way in hell do we have a chance shiiiiiiiiiit"?

misled.

Strike Witch 06-07-2010 03:28 PM

That's what it means currently.

Like how a faggot used to mean bundle of sticks and now means Alcar.

Bought some Transformers too.

It meant a piece of mutton in my childhood. Which meant I didn't really understand The Fairytale Of New York when I first saw it.

Mac Sirloin 07-08-2010 09:22 AM

This one is a joke within a joke. Does it say 'Hatred' or 'HAT RED'?

OANST 07-08-2010 09:24 AM

I read it as Hat Red, at first.

So I got some cool shit for my birthday:

Probably one of my favorite shirts now. It confuses twilight fans and represents BSG and The Olmos. Come on.

WaCom Bamboo Fun Digital Tablet. I like it a lot, but it's really...Different. I feel like I'm learning how to draw all over again.

Yeah. I just need the Bouncer and Splicer/little sister/lamb combo, and I'm good to go. It's lame, but I've got this shelf with all the toys below a framed Bioshock poster plus a couple of framed Rapture propaganda prints. I wasn't a huge fan of Bioshock 2, but I loved the first, I really like the toys, and I still love the character models. So I am a nerd.

I also got some custom chucks. They're the original Skid Grip CVO Canvas skate shoes from back in the day, which is +10 cool:

Currently my instrument collection is pretty meh to be posting it up as cool shit, besides my epiphone acoustice, but sooner or later I'm gonna have this flashy cunt of a thing.

It retails pretty expensive for a student so it may be a couple of months but it shall be mine...

Hazel-Rah 08-10-2010 11:49 PM

I bought this off the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society, it's a box set of four H.P. Lovecraft stories done up like 20's radio dramas and it comes with a bunch of extras from the Mythos.

The Necronomicon? In English? Really?

Pro tip: It's not real.

Hazel-Rah 08-11-2010 10:21 AM

OANST: Says you.

Yeah page 751 is my favorite prop from the set, I think Dunwich Horror is done really well too, Wilbur's voice is CREEPY the whole thing is much better than that Sci-Fi original that came out a year ago O.o

My favorite H.P. Lovecraft story of all time is Shadow out of Time, that's the reason I got this, that story never gets any love even though the Library of America considers it one of his best stories :P my least favorite has to be Shadow over Innsmouth, eh IDK too Conan the Barbarian :P

Mac Sirloin 08-11-2010 10:45 AM

Dunwich Horror is the only one I bothered to read through, and even then...

Hazel-Rah 08-11-2010 10:50 AM

What? It's a great story.
