Yes, there are cities.

The large cities of oddworld are actually supposed to play a major role in future games. As the quintology progresses, Abe, Munch and the other heroes will get deeper and deeper into industrialized areas, like the major cities were the khanzumerz, and other species live and indulge in the products made by the Magog Cartel and other businesses.

Magog Cartel and other businesses. -thekhanzumer
yea, i never thought about other cartels, i usually focus on Magog but hey on other continents, im sure they have other cartels:dodgy:

Oddsville 05-24-2003 02:46 PM

To answer the question on the little picture problem on the previous page, Im pretty sure that the Mud that we see their was earily designs for a Mudokon Vodoo-Docter. My theiory was that he would raise Native Mudokons from the grave and preform religous cerimonys before OWI came up with the Resurection Totem.

Abeguy 05-24-2003 09:21 PM

Hey Max the English aren't the only ones who know their grammar. Some of the americans over hear can speak pretty well.

*getting back on topic* let's just hope those other cartels dont cause too much trouble for our heroes

Gryph the Slig 05-26-2003 06:18 PM

This is a question that's been nagging at me ever since I got AO... if the Magog Cartel does all that meat processing, who do they sell it to? :fuzblink:

Dipstikk 05-26-2003 06:47 PM

Khanzumers are the main recipiants of the Glukkon and Vykker products.

Khanzumer=Comsumer.
Get it?

TheKhanzumer 05-28-2003 02:27 AM

Khanzumerz are the main consumers, but sligs, city mudokons, glukkons, vykkers, etc... also use the products made by the different production plants on Mudos.

The city mudokons and the natives obviously don't like each other for the most part.

Sekto Springs 05-29-2003 09:11 PM

ive never heard of city muds, i thought all mudokons were spit on for being the dirty worthless slaves that they are....

TheKhanzumer 05-30-2003 02:29 AM

my assumptions...

Well, the gluks don't exactly get along with city muds either. The city muds got rich and free through some trick of fate or another but that doesn't make them eguals to the other races. Besides, the richer the city muds are the more glukkon products they can buy, which is really all that matters to the gluks.

Sekto Springs 06-04-2003 12:26 AM

i saw a flic of a weird thing with four elephant like legs four arms with bigbro like hands, a green jacket, and a face like an elum, i dont know if it was from oddworld though, and as for city muds, how could a mudokon get rich, no matter what continent, muds are beaten ta death just for fun, let alone in the cities, theyde be shot, crushed, sanitised, and burnt before anyone even notices, a mud goes through more than one thinks, not even lulu would be dumb enough to understand a richer mudokon

magog does more than meat processing my friend, youve obviously never had a brew addiction...:fuzwink:

Abeguy 06-04-2003 12:20 PM

okay, ive been wondering, who and what is the Sea Rex and what does he look like?:fuzconf:

Xavier 06-04-2003 12:29 PM

it was supposed to be like that:
http://www.oddworldforums.net/forums..._-_Sea_Rex.gif
It was supposed to be a big CG aquatic creature in MO, it's apparently the biggest living creature in the area of mudos

for the rest I leave it to the specialists

Dipstikk 06-04-2003 03:46 PM

Is the FUD TV Clip featured in the game?

If so, which FMV?

Oh, and what does FMV stand for?

Xavier 06-04-2003 04:15 PM

the Fud TV is exclusive to the Oddworld Movie: Abe's Exoddus

Sekto Springs 06-04-2003 07:04 PM

how do sligs eat n all, their tentacles are in the way

TheKhanzumer 06-06-2003 02:51 AM

Sligslinger: Mudokon slaves can be financially successful in the same way that black slaves in the US could become successful. It is rare, but they could have nice owners and work really hard. Remember that mudokons could start their own businesses to compete with the low-quality Magog products.

And sligs eat the same way squids do I suppose. With the mouth under the tentacles. They probably use their face fingers to pick at their meals instead of using hands.

The problem is, in the first two games, the screens arent transitions from one place to the other: In other words, Abe doesnt walk off one screen onto the other, he walks quite a distance from one to the other, so quite often it will look like he is in a completely different place. Abe walks from the one challenge to the other, but you don't get to see the bit in between, and that is supposed to save on boring bits, but I just think it makes it seem a bit unrealistic.
It's not so much that but a matter of perspective. I can illustrate it best by refering to the very top of the Paramonian level, when Abe has to ride Elum away from angry bees over a series of pit traps. Keep an eye on the windmills in the background - in one shot I think (I haven't played in ages) you see the windmill in the middle of the screen, the next screen along it's moved to the far right of the screen. Think of it as a series of cameras set up along the path - you can see the same objects, but because you're in a different position, it look different.

Of course, you're right that in some places there's obviously a lot of scenery been cut out. Especially in part of the Stockyards Escape, where you're walking along at ground level and then on the next screen you're standing at the top of a platform.

What? When did I imply that?

Sekto Springs 06-07-2003 12:34 PM

if aslik is the vice president of feeco depot, whos the president?

Wil 06-07-2003 03:50 PM

Pass. Probably the overlord of the entire FeeCo Depot business, since Aslik just controls the SoulStorm Brewery-based depot. Or it may just be that 'Vice-President' is a totally arbitrary title and doesn't directly describe the hierarchy of the Magog Cartel. I'd place my bet on the first.

Sekto Springs 06-08-2003 01:24 PM

ok, my next question. this has bothered me since i beat MO, if lulu hates fishy food and wasnt going to bid at the auction, why'd he go to vykkers labs in the first place?

Wil 06-08-2003 06:31 PM

The reason isn't explored in the game at all, which strikes me as rather silly, but having read many previews I can answer that question for you with an official (or ex-official) answer.

When a Glukkon is promoted to the status of Glockstar, he is invited to work for the Vykkers Conglomerate. Only Glockstars can work for the Conglomerate, though, and Lulu, being such a successful Glukkon, would have been having an eye kept on him by the Vykkers. My guess, Vykkers Labs was the closest Vykkers institute to the last place he was running before his final promotion.

Dipstikk 06-08-2003 10:06 PM

Mudanchee
Mudancho
Mudamo

Can anyone ID the three guys in the genaric pic of the Wierdos?
Like edit the pic and type their names above them for me to use as a guide?

I'm reffering tho them as Mudanchee, Mudamo, and Mudancho in the comic.

Wil 06-09-2003 12:03 PM

I haven't got the picture handy on my computer because of all the misbehaving it's been doing recently, but I can get my AE manual and decribe them for you.

Right, the Mudanchee Spirit is the one with two horns out of the front of his headgear. The Mudomo Spirit is the one with four leg-type things sticking out of the side of his headgear. The Mudoncho Spirit is the one with thin antenae-type things coming out of his headgear. I can't really be more specific with this little picture, although the Mudomo Spirit has one arm missing.

I'll go find a better pic and return to edit my post, okay?

Xavier 06-09-2003 12:23 PM

here is a (very) good pic of them

AAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh....... *salivates at that beautiful picture* Yeah, you can clearly see that from left to right they're the Mudoncho, Mudanchee and Mudomo Spirits.

Hmm, those little mutterings that the characters make, eh? Sounds interesting. Well, having transcripted all movies from all three games, I think this sounds like an interesting challenge. I'll get back to you.
