That does work to take away any false expectations, I'll give you that. |
I dunno. If NnT just dropped onto Steam, they'll be little to no hype. I want NnT on PC to be hyped so that more people will be interested in the game who aren't keeping track of it.
Maybe announce it a week earlier. I dunno. Whatever your planning, I just hope it's successful. |
Can I just say right now I think this whole release date and fan participation argument is kinda silly and has nothing to do with my original comment that it's weird how long the PC and other ports are taking.

I think that's the way with most ports, tbh, unless it's something big like GTA V or The Last of Us. But every time OWI mention something on social media they get plagued with comments about various ports - so some people are at least interested.
Unlike Munch Vita and Stranger Mobile I agree that there should be some sort of buildup. Although TellTale is getting away with it... but perhaps it's because they are more popular and the nature of the episodic model with free updates... But, and this is just conjecture, I got the impression that the early announcement of a July 2014 release contributed to the buggy release of NnT. Another reason why they don't want to give us targets in case, at the last minute, they decide the game actually needs another month of polishing touches. |
:
Manco, I think this discussion was inevitable. There are a lot of people who really want this game, and it's taking longer than we were told. The game looks really good, and we all want to get our hands on it as soon as possible. People just need somewhere to vent until we have more news. |

Honestly when I played the game at Play Expo i didn't see anything that I would've thought to take this long, just a couple of bugs. On the other hand, I didn't play through that much of the game.
:
|
And even if u did, u might not have found any of the problems they mightve.
Playing through the game for over a hundred times Ive found tonnes of bugs they still havnt patched. |

Either he think's you're Dr. Everything's-great-and-there's-nothing-wrong-with-anything-especially-Oddworld or you said "critic" instead of "critique".
|
Do I really come across like that? Please tell me I don't...
Oh and I misspelled critique? C'mon Nep. You should know by now that I cun't spill. :) |
I for one am incredibly critiqual of CP’s spelling.
|
I think Nep means that you're known as a guy who's usually very, very positive about stuff
|
Good on ya, Crash. Not everyone has to be jaded and miserable!
|
Holy Sick clearly hasn't been here long enough.

There's a difference between "being blind" and deciding not to pay too much attention to each and every little imperfection.
|
There's a difference between being a cunt and not being a cunt.
I guess what I'm trying to say is fuck off. You've been picking on Crash for no reason for what feels like months now. I literally have no idea what you're even talking about at this point. |
Well, from what I recall, Crash wasn't satisfied with the new look of RuptureFarms.
|
Well I'm so sorry for being positive around here. Jesus. I'm not blind to imperfections. I just thing only bringing them up over and over again and nothing else causes more harm then good. Especially when they're minor little things.
Why I'm I so positive? Because this is Oddworld. My favorite game franchise. Finally come back after years of waiting. We are currently speaking on the Oddworld Forum. I'm not overly positive and that criticisms shouldn't be mentioned. Hell no. it's worth mentioning them. Things like a bugs or major changes to the game we all know and love. (Let's say the logo or the new Rupture Farms.) There worthy of discussion and critique. I just think to an extent. Nit picking is obsessive and not needed. Even if we are big fans of the series. I got really annoyed when some people could only highlight little nit picks and not say anything good about it. New 'N' tasty is not perfect. Have I acted like it is? I didn't like it's controls at first, I had some pretty major bugs (save data deleting!) and the ending credit music was questionable. But it was still the game I enjoyed the most last year. And I want to see JAW continue with Abe's Exoddus and many other Oddworld titles. :
|
Nonsense, New n Tasty is perfect.
That glitch that has me roliing forever even over gaps until I hit a wall or slide into a slog is just swell. Personally, I cant wait for PC. Ill never play it on PC, but I want more people to start speedrunning. |
I still don't get why they made rupture farms all super hi-tech sci-fi'y, I loved the super gritty, greasy, nasty, industrially look of the original. But like crash said,

Perhaps it’s a jab at how modern consumerism has shifted from simple consumption of food and drink to the rampant amassing of computers and phones and gadgets. As humanity’s lusts change, so too must Oddworld change to reflect them.

I thought perhaps it was more along the lines of one of Lorne's original visions. Perhaps he wanted it to be high-techy and colourful but at the time graphical capability wasn't at that level. Thus, perhaps grunge and grime was born out of necessity.
Hell, at one point Rupture Farms was going to be a glukkon temple. Or...an Oldger temple. :tard: |
Grunge and grime is much more oppressive and effective. It also makes sense in-universe because why would Glukkons care about cleanliness and style?
|
Maybe they *learned*, Nepsotic. Gosh, you're so offensive
|
learned? There is no progression of time here, this is the same time as AO, no?
|
They learned in the nether-time, between dimensions.
Also, Crash I was just fucking with you, I didn't mean no offence. |

Well, fucking hell, they didn't enslave those Mudokons to sit on their asses.
