Little upgrade.
Now that conveeyor line is nicely curved. No more annoying gaps. New background model. well... There are a lot of thing which i want to do, but i'm afraid that i don't have skill high enough. Now i want to create hi-poly version of conveyor, finish background pipes low poly model and create texture for glukkon head logo.

Woahhhhh!!!! :O I'm imagining it; sound effects, characters + their animations. Explosions, Falling crates, tap bombs, sligs shooting, abe running, bird portals, meat grinders.. this is gonna be something special! And it actually looks just like the real Oddysee Rupture farms, you've done a TRULY fantastic job Fartueus!! ;)

Is the unreal program easy to use?

oh fartueus, imagine making an online multiplayer using that rupture farms level. Using the UDK engine, I should should think it's quite possible?.. You could, say, start the level with 2 or more players, who control their own mudokon. You could make it so that the levels actually require, say, 2 people in order to complete. Like, you could have bomb machines that only give you a grenade if 2 people press their hands on it.
Or, you could have a screen where there are 2 mudokons, and they are both in the path of a floating bomb, and if there is only one player, he will only have time to save one of the mudokons. But if there are 2 players, one player can save one mudokon, while the other player saves the other. There could actually be a challenge where only one player is allowed to enter the challenge, and the other is stuck behind a barrier waiting for the other player to solve a puzzle in order to activate a switch to open the barrier. If this sounds of any interest to you, let me know and I'll draft some designs for challenges. I really believe this idea could be amazing! A bit like little big planet, but less annoying!! |

I'm used to working with the source engine and everytime I use unreal I need some time to adjust. Main workflow is creating a bsp based blockout of your level and then detailing with models and replacing bsp geometry. Unreal is great if you work modular. @Fartuess Looking really good:) Can see that your skills are improving. One thing though...Are you using standard sizes?( Same distance between ground floor and 2nd floor, distance between the gaps, etc etc) Could be a real help if you ever want do add a good looking/decent working abe with movement mechanics. More please!:D |

Ok i've just started adding minor improvements. Here is sample (and actually everything i did so far except moving from april to december build of UDK)

Now there is more micro details on surface. I'll be adding such improvements to other textures improving post proccess (maybe image grain filter an tonemapper) and adding new UDK features that i'll find to be easy to add ;). I can't say that now i'll do much. I just don't have much free time to spent on that. I'm only going to make what i've learned since last update and what i think i can add without spending much time on it. I won't finish this scene soon. Just want to push it a little step further.
