Was that irony or honest regret?
Anyway, I'm prepared for the event, I did brew a couple of splash regeneration potions recently, you guys might want to gather around me occasionally to get healed. I also made a couple stacks of arrows, some sets of iron armor and plenty of food - all available in the Longhouse for those in need. For those who don't know, the Longhouse is connected to the train network. You have to take the line towards the lighthouse, it'll take you to the Longhouse. :

I am so not ready, but I'll see everyone on there and we'll see what happens.
|
It's annoying that I arranged my plans for tomorrow seeing as it could have easily been the next day, but I'm hardly going to cancel on her. This is the girl from my blog, by the way.
Just make sure someone films so that I don't miss out completely. I might jump on voice chat for a bit before she's due to arrive just to see where you're at. |
I probably won't be there due to spending time with the GF.
|
I don't have a girlfriend, but I don't have Minecraft either.
|
Hm I should probably pay the server bill before this entire stronghold raid is canceled lol.
|
Well I don't mind delaying it again cause I'm not really ready (I need arrows!) But if it is tonight, I'm looking forward to it :)
|
As I said earlier I'll be about an hour late tonight or so. But I'll still be there at some point.
|
Alrighty! We're finally doing this! I was ready the moment I started looking for the stronghold.
|
Thanks guys; we had a great time. Sorry to all you who couldn't make it; maybe Havoc could respawn the dragon in the End some time, and maybe replace the healing crystals too, if that's possible.
|
Yeah I couldn't make it in time 'cause my bike got a puncture on the way back from my friend's place.
Ah well though, maybe we can think of more events later. |
So did anyone film it?
|
Crashpunk did apparently. Kudos to him if his filming was successful, at least the rest of us won't have missed the event entirely. :)
|
Oh, I thought you were CP for a minute there. Sorry.
|
It was a good time, although not as challenging as I originally expected, but then again, we had the numbers. And the read-out of the End Credits by Sam and Wil (in a voice not unlike a Trandoshan's) was mildly amusing, although I threw an Ender Pearl into the exit portal and left the End too early, so I didn't actually sit through the whole credit roll in synch with the others.
I guess we can now start thinking about other events to have, like that Survival Games map, or some other activity on the map we already have (Spleef contest, fishing or something). |
Yes I recorded it all. It's going to take the piss to edit together because I was recording my voice separately :)
I'll link you to the videos once they've done. Also, I had a great time last night! The dragon fight was surprisingly easy though. I was expecting some of us to die :tard: |
Emerald trading with NPCs is fun. I like the jungle temples too

So now that the stronghold is over and done with, does anybody actually go onto the server anymore? Whenever I check (2 or 3 times throughout the day as I work on Minecraft RF) it's always 0/15 online, although I do jump in when I see someone. I haven't seen anyone online for at least a week, though.
It seems a little wasteful to have a server running 24/7 that barely anybody uses anymore, especially when there's monthly fees attached... Which is a shame, it's an awesome world that we all created together. I've noticed activity increases when MC updates come out, but they only hold people's interests for a short while. I'm wondering if it's possible instead to plan events/exploration of adventure maps/PvP maps and only have a server temporarily up for the duration of those events. Dripik has hosted such maps before but there's always a lot of lag... I wonder also if there's also a way to distribute the current server map to those who built it so that everyone can keep a copy of it as a reminder. Although someone (probably me) will have to link up Ma'Spa with Genesis with a path or track for people to follow, as a final act before the map is taken down (since portals don't work offline), and finish the railway to Exoddus. |

Hmm, suppose that's a possibility. We'd have to speak to Havoc about that - If I learn how to change the maps around (I also wonder how easy it is and if it'll screw around with any plugins, world backups, or settings) I wouldn't mind doing that for events.
I've also remembered that it's possible to have more than one map up at once, like it was when Ma'Spa was introduced before the maps were merged, and with that Skyblock thing we did briefly, but I wonder if it's possible to put up and take down a second map at will without affecting the first map or making the server more laggy. |
I usually go on at least everyday but I've been busy this week and i've also been playing other games.
I still need to finish The Temple of Time so I'll be on quite a lot soon. |
I have phases of Minecraft interest, hence building most of the rail network in the space of a few weeks. I'm not in one at the moment, but I don't think I'm done with it.
|
I ran out of iron and I've given up on mining with 500+ ping. Minecraft is bad enough with ~50.
|
Let's take it into account that it's the exam period for many people around, including me. But I'm done with that now (more in a blog, maybe), so I'm more available.
The thing is that I don't really see people on the server either - I guess we keep missing each other's server activity. And even if someone's on, there's not much of that co-operated gameplay when we're not actually doing some planned adventure. I miss that. Maybe we should just head out occasionally into the unexplored areas of the world and create something just for its own sake, without any prior preparation. |
The world is quite big now, BTW... 900+ MB. I wonder if there's a way to prune some unused chunks after 4.3 comes out so that we can get to see some of the new stuff.
But yeah I think loading up and adventure map every now and then for events as a second map, then taking it down when we're done is the way to go. There are plenty of maps out there. |
We should all play mine together when it's finished.
|
I want to see how quickly we can collaboratively stripmine an entire mountain down to the bedrock.
|
That would be fun to see. We'd have a massive crater as a memorial.
As for adventure maps and stuff, I've recently moved to a new apartment which has a 100/100mb/s internet connection. I've been planning on reconfiguring my own server at home to run a Minecraft server, either as a replacement for our current one or as a second 'event' server which we could run stuff like Tekkit and adventure maps on. I'm still working out the technical stuff since I never worked with Linux though, so a lot of stuff to learn. I'll let you guys know when (if) I get it running though. |
So i've worked on the Temple of Time a lot more recently, I haven't really had a lot of time to do it because of exams and...well Minecraft is exactly a high priority at the moment :)
The main part is pretty much done, well the floor anyway. I need to make it higher and also finish the outside and the roof. I was thinking having black wool over the windows isn't very interesting. even though it resembles the original, I was thinking Glass would be better. I haven't started the room with the Master Sword in it. It's going to take ages because it's much higher then the first part of the temple according to ocarina of time map rips. I'm thinking about having a furnace with a Diamond Sword in it to represent the Master Sword :) http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/2...0611221538.png http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/7...0611221522.png http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/3...0611221459.png http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/7...0611221510.png Anyway. Here's Wil in a Caldron. http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/8...0601231539.png |
Can we have comparative screenshots of the original temple?
