I was planning on backing up the world on the 13th and closing it on the 14th.

I suggest mass griefing in those last 24 hours post-backup. It is the end of the world, after all. You need lava, flooding, and TNT raining from the sky.

I'm double sided on that. It would probably be fun, but like Splat said it would be a painful way to say goodbye to everything we've created.

What is everyone's thought on this?

You need to pack up your Lego when you finish building. There has to be an end to give the journey definition. A little remorse combined with explosions seems more fitting to me than an emotionless cutoff.

I don't know if people can be online at the instant the server gets taken down, but a countdown would be pretty cool.

Yeah, I've really grown to love the OWF worlds more than any Minecraft world I've been on. Genesis holds a special place in my heart as well as all the others so I don't want anything destroyed.

Although, maybe that large flat area in Ma'Spa could be a great place to go wild...

Also is there going still to be saved copies of the worlds?

Same here, I like the memories of building stuff and exploring the world together as I remember them now - explosions and destruction I will leave to those who want them. I don't.

Looking forward to tomorrow's adventurin' though.

Oh I could also take screenshots, as I've mentioned before I have a ridiculous monitor and no performance issues so extreme high-res screens are available.

Yeah, I'm not smart enough to figure out a hacky way to take shots above 1680x1050 so I'm limited there. I might do some wallpaper-shaped ones when I can download the map and creative-mode myself.

Well chaps, the adventure's over and, with it, the server. Thanks all for making it such a brilliant, fun and beautiful place to be a part of. It's been a fantastic couple of years and I'll really miss it. Everything we made, from Genesis to Exoddus to Ma'Spa, was brilliant. So thanks everyone. I'll miss ya all. I hope we can find somewhere else to share together. You guys rock!

Good work everyone. the adventure had some interesting moments, but on the whole it was good fun. I'll upload some more shots later.

Yeah thanks for the past 2 years, guys. They were really fun and helped me get to know some of you a bit better. And yeah, the adventure was fun on the whole, there were some really good parts... Shame about the "interesting" moments though. :P

My friend Micheal has programmed a Gorilla Mob that spawns in jungles, if anyone here has an interest in incorporating gorillas into their world (like you know you should) I can get whatever files necessary from him and post them here, but only if people want it. It drops bamboo or mangos until he can find an effective banana mod.

The adventure. It certainly was one. There was a certain tone of chaos to it, as 10+ people from varying timezones tried to communicate with eachother, first on Skype, and then on Steam when Skype gave up on us. Then there were devious tests and jumping puzzles (which, as it turns out, are really hard when a server is suddenly stressed with a never seen number of visitors), elaborate and wordy bits of lore (you know who you are... wait), and a generous bit of traversing the, by no means small, world that we have created during these two years.

Nonetheless, it was a memorable event. Thanks to everyone who turned up for the adventure, it was fun playing again on the server for one last time. Thanks to Splat for organising the whole event and making sure of the integrity of the different adventure sections. Thanks DH and Hula (and his helpers/minions/etc.) for creating your adventure segments, they were rather creative and fun (that underground facility was quite something). Thanks to all who made screenshots and video footage (use the latter with moderation, it might unleash all the wrath of YouTube upon you) of the event.

I shall be posting my montage of screenshots in a couple of days.

Concerning the world/map we built up over the years;

I made a backup of the worlds before we started the adventure. I will be posting all the worlds (Tekkit and Vanilla) probably tommorow. I will be including a short list of location coordinates since the Stargates will not longer work if you load the map in single player. That way you can easily TP around.

I've gotta say guys, last night was the best time I've ever had on Minecraft. It was utter chaos from start to finish and it was fantastic.

I've got 149 GB of Fraps footage...My PC's Hard Drive is almost full and it's going to take SO long to sort it all out but once I have, I'll be uploading it all soon.

I also hope the VGToolbox have good enough quality footage to use for the channel. :lol:

If we have monthly Minecraft meetups or something, maybe we can get updates via Facebook or Twitter? It's just a shame that people keep missing these events because there isn't really a way to know if anythings happening, besides to keep checking the thread all the time.

Could you also include a copy of the map post-after party? Could make for a good round of ruin exploration or something.

Oh yeah, have you got copies of all the books/signs people read out during the adventure? It could make viewers understand the adventure a little better by putting all the text on screen so they can read it.

It was kinda unclear what to do at times due to the shear amount of people talking over each other.

My unfinished Borg cube is at... I have no idea. It's somewhere southwest of the end of the minecart line through Havoc's lighthouse, if anyone is interested in seeing a big square with two mines underneath it.

I'll admit I never had much of a stake in all this, having joined after the mass exodus to Tekkit, but it was nice to be there while I was. I put up a sign on the notice board and everything.

Love the video Rob, though I wish my final Dark Fortress from the adventure could have been in there. Don't suppose you could include it in the coordinates lists, Havoc? It's a pain to get to at the best of times :p

I'm sure there were many more things on the server that would have deserved a place in the montage, but I was trying my best to cut the content down to the length of the Minecraft theme, so I had to make choices about what to use. But I tried to include something from everyone.
