Certainly, I could do that. I just need to know where the rail track will enter the town and I'll do the rest.
I was also planning on extending the cobblestone path to my mansion. And from there, the Exodus desert is not really far, so I might as well extend it that far. |
I plan to sneak in a couple of stations between the Castle and Exoddus, so I won't be specific, but anywhere in the large empty space right of Edd's castle is good. The tracks go over/through the same wall that the castle sits on. If you want, I can be more specific. Otherwise anywhere in that gap, though closer to the castle than the city corner wouldn't hurt.
EDIT: Ok, I'm being specific. Tracks will cross the same wall as Edd's castle, one at z: -30 and the other at z: -28, unless this is a problem. Before that, they're gonna pass through a station in the woods near your villa. EDIT 3: The supports for the tracks now reach just outside Exoddus so, Rob, you can see where they'll reach the wall. You can adjust the height of them as you wish (just keep them mob-proof ;)). There are no tracks on them for the reasons explained in EDIT 2 (and no supporting pillars 'cus I put those in after the tracks, so it looks pretty ugly right now). I'll lay the bones of the station in the woods soon. EDIT 2: Tracks now extend beyond Dark Castle Station to Farmer's Interchange Station which will have a link to the South Line (for which I'm going to have to extend the station Havoc built). Also, Ma'Spa Depot is running very short on iron for normal rail so, if you have any spare, donations would be much appreciated. If it's not already been done, I might tear up the rails in the Old Nether. |
I'll get to that soon. I think I'll finish the outer walls of my mansion first, but there's not much left to do there, might have to go iron hunting though (some of which might end up in the track building effort). Then I'll move to Exodus and start planning. I'm thinking of something involving bricks and sandstone to follow the pattern of the town hall, but I might use more glass this time.

So, is the Stronghold expedition today?
|
It was May, wasn't it? If not, then I'm not available, I'm away from home and the connection here isn't top notch.
In other news, I had the most terrifying yet exhilirating Nether adventure the other day. I figured I'd go and collect some Blaze rods legitly, so I created a portal in a cave not too far from my mansion and portalled to the Nether base Splat (and possibly some others) have been working on. I went out in a random direction, not paying the least attention to the signs which might have told me where a fortress might be. This latter decision had its consequences. I ended up wandering the Nether for an hour, successfully collecting some rods, but getting absolutely, irrevocably lost, being fired at by Ghasts (although managing to kill some of them with their own fireballs, which was cool), running out of food and torches and generally feeling stupid for not leaving a trail to follow back. But eventually, I found a fortress corridor, at the end of which were little patches of cobblestone and the Nether base itself. So I portalled back, went to my mansion, locked myself in my bedroom and crawled under the bed forever. |
Date for Stronghold Expedition is dependant on the date that Darkhoodness returns from his mid-May adventures.

Surely I'm not the only one with Fraps? Can't Crashpunk film it like he did the Exoddus event? |
Quoting quotes of yourself.
Quote-ception... I know this belongs elsewhere but the subject I am referring to is in this thread, if it was in the right place it wouldn't make sense because it would be rendered a stupid jo- Nevermind :( |
Last time I checked my Fraps was completely broken, I have to re-install. I have however Hypercam 2 which so far has been proving it's self to be very good quality so I'll use that instead.
|
Just as a note, can whoever records makes sure their music is off? It was on in someone's recording of the boardroom scene and it really gave me the shits. If we're recording voices it's much better not to have it on.
|
Apart from making it harder to edit your Minecraft footage in a consistent way if you want to cut out boring bits or apply your own music while keeping the voice chat, why does Minecraft music give you the shits?
|
On the video it was annoying because it was intrusively loud compared to the voices.
|
Stronghold Exploration:
Saturday, 26th of May. 9PM GMT BST. |
I have Fraps. I haven't tried testing how well it works on my compy, but I can do that if someone with experience gives me a l'il guidance.
|
Press F9 (or whatever you've bound your key to) to start and stop recordings. It'll save large, large raw avi files into a folder that you've specified that you'll want to process with a video editor before uploading them.
Be sure that the "Record Win 7 sound" and "Record external input" are checked under the Movies tab if you want to record sounds, voices and your voice with the video. Be sure Minecraft's sound is turned down or turned off, though. |
:
I'll see if I can get hypercam 2 working. My computer will be able to handle it, but I've heard there are some issues with hypercam 2 and Win 7. |
Bumped forward to 9PM for the sake of those backwards people living on the losery side of the planet.
|
Surely that's bumped back.
Next time I see one of you on the server, I'll ask you into a voice chat so I can do some testes. |
I finally managed to apply to university and my tickets to Australia are booked for the 6th of May; all going well I should still be at my aunt and uncle's on the 26th. Hopefully they won't mind me using their internet to play games at seven in the morning.

Mountain Station (the one between Havoc's and TDA's houses) can now be reached on Ma'Spa Rail by changing at Farmer's Interchange (note that this requires leaving Ma'Spa on the East Line). The South Line will be installed at least as far as Mountain Station once I have more iron/Wil plots out Cathedral Station. The East Line will reach its current planned terminus in Exoddus once I have more iron/Dripik builds Exoddus Station. Construction will begin on the North Line once the South Line reaches Mountain Station. Please donate iron or rail track! |
I forgot to tell you earlier that I've left you about 3 and a bit stacks of iron ore in the chests at Ma'Spa depot, all found over the past few days in the huge cavern I made for the project I'm currently working on. There was even a small cave system down there that I had a quick look through, leading to a few iron seams.

Hai guiz, is it possible I can get added to the server's whitelist pwease. I'm starting to play Minecraft again and I fucking hate those public servers and would rather play the game with rules. I'm on my knees, please, don't send me wth my tail between my legs back to the cold, dark forest of lag, greifers and horrible penis statues.
kbye |
Weren't you already on the whitelist? In either case it's fine with me, only Dark will have to add you since I'm insanely busy atm.
|
I thought I was as well but I tried to log in one day and it threw the message You're not on the whitelist.
I assumed it had something to do with the server problems you were having back then because that was around the last time I was really online. Cheers anyway, Havoc. Also, is the IP the same? |
The IP is in the first post!
|
Even better. Can't join right now anyways, currently on a shit laptop that can't run solitaire.
|
The whitelist was lost when McMcAdmin had a major update last week. I guess I forgot to re-add you, but I've changed that now.
|
You can only come back if you promise to donate stone to Manco, iron to Ma'Spa Depot and dirt to Wil. And iron to Ma'Spa Depot.
(Why you want to play with this bunch of scroungers is beyond me. :p) |
