Al the Glukkon 03-20-2004 03:01 PM

What ever happened to the glukkons Abe possesed in Munch's Oddessy they didn't explode they just go unconscious when he deposseses them?:fuzconf:

Sekto Springs 03-20-2004 03:16 PM

I've wondered this too, I guess they decided that they're too important to blow up.

Dave 03-20-2004 04:24 PM

I'd guess Abe wanted the glukkon to live with the shame of giving up all their profits. To a gluk, that's probably a lot worse than being blown up by Abe.
Or maybe giving up their profits was enough of a shock to shake off their possesion just in time to realize what they did, and fainted.

Just speculation.

Esus 03-20-2004 10:10 PM

Over time Abe became more in control of his possessing and became more confident. he eventually learnt how to un-possess creatures without actually exploding them. I think Alf said this.

Xavier 03-21-2004 12:03 AM

yup Esus, you are right...
and I suppose Abe don't see the point of killing those Gluks since he allready has what he wants.

Nate 03-21-2004 12:09 PM

Alternatively, they could have stowed away on the Blimps that took the Auction Bidders off the ship (assuming most of them did. Lulu certainly did, as we see him on the streets later).

How did Lulu get off Vykker's lab? Abe and Munch escaped on his blimp?

Sekto Springs 03-21-2004 12:13 PM

The funny thing about that is the paper thats says "Dumb Gluk Loses Can" was printed before he bid his fortune, that's why Lulu's valet mentioned it while reading. So my guess is he blew up along with it and they are just being funny.

In addition to that: Then in AE Abe most likely blew up the gluks to prevent them from reactivating the gates and tellingn what happand...

Al the Glukkon 03-22-2004 12:36 PM

Who created the greeters?

oddguy 03-22-2004 12:43 PM

http://www.oddworld.com/universe/ind...w_greeter.html

Greeters we're originally designed for mobile advertisement, but after they started attacking customers, Glukkons realised they'd make the perfect security gaurds!

Wil 03-23-2004 10:39 AM

I believe the Vykkers created the Greeters. Glukkons don't strike me as robotics engineers.

The valet slig doesn't mention Lulu losing the can, just that the paper said he would bid for it. My guess is he was probably reading the edition with the article about Lulu becoming a Glockstar and going to Vykker's labs.

Sekto Springs 03-23-2004 11:17 AM

No because they valet said, "hey, it say's here your going to bid your entire fortune on Gabbiar". And if you recall it says the same thing on the Final paper, so they were playing a joke.

Al the Glukkon 03-23-2004 03:29 PM

How did Abe and Munch get the can of Gabbiar after the auction?

Alcar 03-23-2004 08:10 PM

How did Abe and Munch get the can of Gabbiar after the auction?

We could make up a whole lot of answers to that, but I would guess that they snatched it from LuLu after he was awarded it. Seeing as his Valet Slig did a runner, LuLu didn't exactly stand a chance against Abe and Munch (not to mention the Fuzzles).

Alcar...

Esus 03-24-2004 05:56 AM

One such answer could be that Abe possessed Lulu and gave Munch the can - simple and effective.

Fez 03-27-2004 01:34 AM

all the other muds loaded up some snoozies and shot everyone in the auction hall, then they stole it.....yes......

Havoc 04-02-2004 03:20 PM

eh... well thats a possibility... and a way to kill every rich gluk on oddworld...
Hey... why did'nt they do that? That would have saved a lot of trouble :P

Wil 04-03-2004 02:12 AM

Because the Mudokons don't want to kill all the Glukkons - they want to liberate their brethren, and simply causing destruction and chaos isn't the way to go about it. Abe's ultimate goal is bit broader, in that he has to bring balance between the ideologies on Oddworld, which again doesn't exactly warrent Glukocide - even though Oddguy, in his thread, has correctly noted that Abe is a powerful terrorist.

Sekto Springs 04-17-2004 07:02 AM

I have a question for once. How is D. Caste Raider pronounced? Is it pronounced with a long A or a short A? If it's pronounced with a short A then it would sound alot like "The Castrator", or is that the whole idea for his name to be a pun?

Wow, it feels weird asking a question in here, I don't think I have posted one since I was a newbie. :p

Alcar 04-17-2004 07:10 AM

It's meant to be a pun. There are other sexual inuendoes relating to names from Oddworld, which are not publicly known ;) Nor should we release those, filthy, filthy names :p

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 07:14 AM

Does anyone think that they will extend the quintology because its getting to close to the end :fuzsad:

Sekto Springs 04-17-2004 07:28 AM

Hmmm, personally I never want Oddworld to end. I don't know if oddworld will expand the quintology, that's why they make bonus games like Stranger to expand the range of Oddworld games.

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 07:31 AM

Good point but putting a limit on the amount of games is unfair they are changing gamming as we know it and they are only making 5 main games its distressing.

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 07:44 AM

Oh and I read something about them showing a theatrical version of one of the games in America somewhere is that true? :fuzconf:

Please answer i wanna find out.

Esus 04-17-2004 07:52 AM

Apparently, at least 2 more quintologies have already been concepted.

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 07:54 AM

Do u mean two more parts of the quintology or two more quintology's

Esus 04-17-2004 07:58 AM

two more quintologies, exactly what I said ;)

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 07:59 AM

Sorry alcar

Alcar 04-17-2004 08:03 AM

DeBulletDodger, there is an Edit button to be used if you have something further to say, but were the last to post. You aren't allowed to post twice in a row. Esus, where did you hear there are two more quintologies in the concept phase? I haven't heard anything like this myself, but that's not to say it doesn't exist.

Alcar...

Esus 04-17-2004 08:08 AM

To be honest with you, I don't know.
I would assume I read it here, but I could be wrong.
I'm sure I did actually read it though, it's just I'm prone to having a bad memory for as to where I get information...

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 08:10 AM

Hmmmmmm ok.

Wil 04-17-2004 08:56 AM

Answering SS's question, I would imagine it's a long sounding 'a', as the word 'caste' is pronounced in English. Either way it sounds like 'The Castrator', just this way it's a bit more subtle.

Esus, I remember something being said about another Quintology, but truth be told I remember it coming from you...

Dodger, can't notice anything wrong with this topic, but there's no need for an extended Quintology. Lorne has fully mapped the story of the Quintology, through all five heroes, and inserting another one in would just be tricky. But as SS says, there are many other Oddworld games to enjoy: the Stranger series (should other games be made), the Habitales and Fearietales (should they ever re-emerge from the woodwork), plus the many bonus games of the heroes.

Oddish 04-17-2004 09:12 AM

The Habitales and Fearietales? I never herd of this, i herd of Hand of odd wich is something i'm most looking forawrd to :)

DeBulletDodger 04-17-2004 09:15 AM

Yes, what are these things

Esus 04-17-2004 10:11 AM

Oh... well... ignore me then, must've imagined it :(

Alcar 04-18-2004 12:17 AM

:

THE HABITALES
The Habitales will be a new series of games allowing you to experiance days in the life of the many creatures of Oddworld as they struggle for survival and balance in their natural enviroment. No guns, no points, no timers, no save the world. Just keep your own arse and offspind in one piece to live and propagate in an on growing, simulated, onwardly virtual habitat.

THE FEARITALES
The Fearietales will be a new series of games that bops you beyond the motal realm and tunes in live with the fashinable dead. This massive mystery series rises the interactive world to a whole new level of deeply disturbing entertainment. No blood, no guts, just grass root spirital and psychological horror from the other side.
Rick
Taken straight from the mouth of some guy named Rick (don't ask...).
