It was impliiiied

The second picture was in HQ even before. I used to have it as a wallpaper
|
They’re all renders from FMVs and at least one has been used in print. JAW have the original assets and probably have access to high quality stills from them, too.
The first one I haven’t seen before. |
My best guess are. It might be a early/alt scene in AO where Abe first sees Big Face?
Or Abe getting the Tattoo on his chest in AE? |
It’s definitely not from the AE scar cutscene. The camera is never at that angle or distance from Abe.
My guess is it’s from Abe’s first meeting with Bigface. Maybe it’s an alternate cutscene, maybe it’s a still from NnT. |
I was just assuming it was the latter
|
|
:
My guess is that the first one is new from NnT during a Big Face encounter. The other ones are old material in HQ. :

Because of this, I'm not sure if I should go looking for information where there probably isn't any, or wait for someone else to do it, or just wait until OWI reveal whatever it is they're going to reveal. Their tweets mention they want us to pay close attention to the things they say. I think this is a Half-Life 3 ARG. |
I prefer them without that distracting text.

People generally follow a Facebook page because they want to keep up to date on information about that subject. In this case, I 'like' the OWI page to stay updated on Oddworld news. But instead of getting said news I'm basically getting told to do the PR's job for them or I won't get to see shit. I'm being told "you as a fan need to get the word about our product out there and if you do a good enough job we'll give you a picture as a reward". That's completely backwards and a complete insult to your community. What exactly am I supposed to do with this? :
The codes are a different matter because they are limited. They are something you can win if you promote the product, which is fair game in my opinion and is used across Facebook a lot more than this useless 'like for picture' stuff. You actually get something back for your 'efforts'. That picture you're releasing has no value whatsoever because eventually it will be released anyway, even if they don't hit the like quota. And everyone, including those who didn't even like the page to begin with, will be able to see the picture. That's why I think it's a bad form of publicity. And besides, EA does the exact same thing with their Facebook pages. OWI doesn't want to be like EA, does it? |
I typed up a couple of sincere paragraphs about how social media works but then I remembered it was Havoc
|
:
|
There is a difference. Only one of those things is actually possible.
|
:
IMO it's a harmless way of promoting themselves. It's fair enough to disagree with it (even though I can't understand why), but how would you ask your fans to help promote yourself if you were in OWI's position? |
Guys. It’s Havoc. C’mon.
|
If you had to force them to talk about your game, I don't think they'd really qualify as "fans".

It's a business, and the hype machine is an important part of that business. Getting your customer to engage in any meaningful way with your product before its release has a huge impact on sales. Liking their page on Facebook puts them in front of more prospective buyers, and builds anticipation. It isn't unethical, and it's not dishonest. It's marketing, and fairly smart marketing, while being pretty innocuous at the same time.
That being said, I didn't like the page because I don't care. |
:
|
Don't worry. I'll be awful later.

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! :D |
Three minutes?! I'm tired of waiting already!
|
Hmmmm. Stew removed his post for some reason.

Story trailer #1, and some new screenshots: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/...railer-debuts/

|
It was worth waiting three minutes
|
Wow that's an impressive trailer! I love it!
|
I'd be impressed, but I can't see the reflection of the scenery in Abe's big glassy eyes. Hopefully, this will be fixed before release. I'm kind of disappointed that such a glaring issue was allowed to go on long enough to make it into this trailer. What exactly is going on over at Jaw?
|
Holy crap now that looks amazing.
|
The release date on the trailer is Spring 2014, by the way.
|
The frame rate is too low.
Oh, and I also actually still think the eyes could stand to be shinier. So mudokon teeth are canon now, huh. Also, liking Abe's froglike asynchronous blink. Wait, isn't this the first time we've seen a 3D Scrab skeleton? Seriously, good work. |
In all seriousness, that's the first thing you guys put out that made me want to play the game. The cutscenes seem to be a lot more in depth than I expected, and I did really like the tone that they set. Looks good.

Mudokon sleeping pods in this screenshot of Rupturefarms.
Scrabania continues to look gorgeous, and the Monsaic Lines ain’t too shabby either. |

OANST has no heart, only a third testicle.
Want to hear an inane complaint about the Rupturefarms shot? Of course you do! I wish it had fog effects, instead of a flat gradient. |
It's different, but a good kind of different, one that captures all the charm of the original while still doing its own thing.
This also beats the shit out of the previous trailer, and the Stranger HD trailers. This might actually draw in new audiences! |
Everything has so much life to it
This is very exciting |
