Which Episode are you up to? Here in the UK, We're only at episode 3 and it was packed with drama. Two characters died and everything.
|
The fifth episode I believe, that's the last one. And it was shit. But yeah, wait till you see the fourth episode Crash, it's good.
|
I watched the second half of the second season of Archer.
I loved the first episode I saw. I've enjoyed every subsequent episode slightly less until the finale, which was great. It certainly has it's moments and on the whole I'm enjoying it. The cancer episodes were a bit over the top, but I really laughed at the cop-out ending. The sequence wasn't funny, but the idea was so cheap and predictable. |
:
and I find this season catastrophically bad. all the characters act strange and illogical. those rednecks totally surprised the fully trained soldiers. yeah of course the last episode: carol vanished, so they all assume she's dead? without even looking for her? wtf - and the best thing is, they're digging! a grave for her, without burying the body, because there's none. LOL, I mean I could understand, if they'd make a "symbolic" grave, but digging a complete hole, that is just weird. they try to survive a zombie apocalypse - that is really energy consuming, so I bet they'd have better things to do. when rick, after his rampage, finally enters that boiling room, he finds a puddle of blood, sprinkled with some tiny flesh pieces. when I saw this, I DIDN'T get the idea, that the zombie with the big belly was supposed to have eaten her up, because it doesn't make any sense. he literally dispatched her body completely. including all her bones, and all there is left, is that swollen belly? and there are hundreds of other plot holes - unnecessary plot holes |
Walking Dead has been shit since the second season. I'm not surprised this hasnt changed, despite hoping it would.
But kids just loooove those zombies, so I don't think it'll be going anywhere soon. |
don't get me wrong, I always loved zombie movies and I think the comic's great.
|
Oh, I do too. And I have yet to read the comic. But from what I've heard they've changed how the story arcs play out quite a bit in the TV show comapred to the comic.
|
:
|
Well that explains why the show is so bad.
|
I used to love zombies, but man...it's too much now. I'm with Nate on this one, it's time for another kind of apocalypse/monsters/"human vs anything that seems superior bullshit".
|
Just watched the Adventure Time episode Fiona and Cake. Please tell me these aren't just one-off characters, would love to see more of them. Cake is amazing.
|
I think they have a new one coming up soon.
|
So I take it they aren't real characters in the story? Just twisted fragments of the Ice King's imagination? That's too bad.
|
There's supposedly a crossover episode on the horizon where Finn and Jake meet Fionna and Cake, but I haven't heard anything about it.
|
Red Dwarf X is on over here, so I've watched the first 2 episodes.
They're not great and there have been better episodes, but I'm enjoying it. It still feels like Red Drawf, even if the actors are older. Both episodes have had standout moments in "a moose!" and Chinese whispers respectively. Lots of people are saying that it's not as good as earlier seasons, but Red Drawf episodes haven't come close to some of the early gems in almost 20 years. It's not perfect, but it's good enough for me. |
Just finished season 3 of Adventure Time
Holy shit this show is deep. |
The next season is going to blow your mind. Hard.
|
I watched seven episodes of Super Jail tonight at a friends, episodes were burned onto a disc for us to watch. Before I watched them, Chris introduced to me to the 'worm' video and the 'Time police'.
Loved all the episodes. I found myself chuckling at least, and at most, laughing my ass off. The humour is right down my alley. Jailbot is at the top of the pile. It's Christmas execution was my favourite. |
If you haven't already, you should go watch the other episodes. The first two seasons are absolutely brilliant.
For the record, the Twins are my favourite characters. |
Superjail is pretty amazing.
|
:
:
Just watched some Superjail and it's extremely weird. Especially in the first one when the bird rips off the guys penis. |
:
|
I actually finished Season 4 a few days ago. I didn't really know how to sum up my feelings about it. I mean, it was amazing, but it was whoa.
|
Was your mind blown?

Dexter sucks. Adventure Time is great. Stop watching Dexter. Watch Adventure Time instead.
For great justice. Also, I'm watching The Office (UK). Great series. Garreth is the best. "Different frogs different times" "I don't like to shit on my own desktop" "I was just wondering if there will ever be a boy, who can swim as fast as a shark" "If the cherries are red, they're ready for plucking" "I don't do sloppy seconds" |
Gareth is also My favourite character, and the Christmas special is hilarious. It's a pity, not many people appreciate the Office nowadays.
|
I still need to watch the specials.
|
The Wolfman, a just-about-enjoyable Joe Johnston romp.
|
So I watched Looper today. In my opinion it wasn't as great as everyone's been saying, it was a decent movie though. I liked the plot and the whole concept of the movie very much.
|
Yeah, I thought it was pretty underwhelming. Good, but not great. Most of the scenes at the farm were rather boring.
|
:
EDIT: whoops, no i didn't, wrong film. |
I watched The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
It was soooo bad. |
:
|
I watched The Grinch last night. The animated one. It's always great.
Has anyone here watched Regular Show before? I've seen a couple episodes and it seems alright. People compare it to Adventure Time last night, so I'm considering watching through it. |
Finished watching Superbad. It was like a funny version of Project X. Fogell is the best.
|
:
It's not nearly as good as Adventure Time, but it's not terrible. I don't really like it, personally. It's one of those "shows about nothing", which can be great, but it's not really my cup of tea. |
:
They just seemed to get lumped together all the time, not sure why. |
Probably because Pen Ward, J.G. Quintel, and Thurop Van Orman are part of a creative troupe that work on each other's shows, so they're often spoken of in a collective sense. There are some similarities in their art and writing style, which is probably why the shows share a mutual fanbase.
Otherwise they're all fundamentally different programs that appeal to different sensibilities. Flapjack was more gritty, bizarre, and darker than the other two. Adventure Time is silly, lighthearted, and sort of arbitrary. Regular Show has shades of both, but it's far more "chill" and the humor is more subtle I suppose. To give you an idea, here's a short film by Pen Ward (Adventure Time) that is pretty representative of his style. And here's one by J.G. Quintel (Regular Show). |
My early Christmas presents to myself arrived today from Amazon.
I got all five seasons of The Wire and The Royal Tenenbaums because I'm very curious about the kind of movie that would make OANST's favourite ever. |
