Which Episode are you up to? Here in the UK, We're only at episode 3 and it was packed with drama. Two characters died and everything.

Dynamithix 11-13-2012 04:35 AM

The fifth episode I believe, that's the last one. And it was shit. But yeah, wait till you see the fourth episode Crash, it's good.

Phylum 11-14-2012 02:20 AM

I watched the second half of the second season of Archer.

I loved the first episode I saw. I've enjoyed every subsequent episode slightly less until the finale, which was great. It certainly has it's moments and on the whole I'm enjoying it. The cancer episodes were a bit over the top, but I really laughed at the cop-out ending. The sequence wasn't funny, but the idea was so cheap and predictable.

I've been watching the latest season of The Walking Dead and I'm loving it. It's probably one of the best things on TV at the minute.

I'm not going to spoil anything so instead I'm going to post this. Probably one of the best reactions I've ever seen. it's really not meant to be funny...which is the funny part.

I already posted this somewhere else - it was hilarious (the scene, not the post)

and I find this season catastrophically bad. all the characters act strange and illogical.

those rednecks totally surprised the fully trained soldiers. yeah of course
the last episode: carol vanished, so they all assume she's dead? without even looking for her? wtf - and the best thing is, they're digging! a grave for her, without burying the body, because there's none. LOL, I mean I could understand, if they'd make a "symbolic" grave, but digging a complete hole, that is just weird. they try to survive a zombie apocalypse - that is really energy consuming, so I bet they'd have better things to do.
when rick, after his rampage, finally enters that boiling room, he finds a puddle of blood, sprinkled with some tiny flesh pieces. when I saw this, I DIDN'T get the idea, that the zombie with the big belly was supposed to have eaten her up, because it doesn't make any sense. he literally dispatched her body completely. including all her bones, and all there is left, is that swollen belly?

and there are hundreds of other plot holes - unnecessary plot holes

Mr. Bungle 11-14-2012 03:28 AM

Walking Dead has been shit since the second season. I'm not surprised this hasnt changed, despite hoping it would.

But kids just loooove those zombies, so I don't think it'll be going anywhere soon.

scrabface 11-14-2012 03:33 AM

don't get me wrong, I always loved zombie movies and I think the comic's great.

Mr. Bungle 11-14-2012 03:54 AM

Oh, I do too. And I have yet to read the comic. But from what I've heard they've changed how the story arcs play out quite a bit in the TV show comapred to the comic.

I think the comic is much worse than the show. People still act in extremely unnatural, and illogical ways, there is little to no actual character development, and the pacing is fucking awful. The comic is basically this; This happened, and then this happened, and then this happened, and then this happened. It's like reading a story by an impatient four year old.

Mr. Bungle 11-14-2012 06:27 AM

Well that explains why the show is so bad.

Steamer_KING 11-14-2012 06:49 AM

I used to love zombies, but man...it's too much now. I'm with Nate on this one, it's time for another kind of apocalypse/monsters/"human vs anything that seems superior bullshit".

Mr. Bungle 11-15-2012 06:53 AM

Just watched the Adventure Time episode Fiona and Cake. Please tell me these aren't just one-off characters, would love to see more of them. Cake is amazing.

OANST 11-15-2012 06:59 AM

I think they have a new one coming up soon.

Mr. Bungle 11-15-2012 07:07 AM

So I take it they aren't real characters in the story? Just twisted fragments of the Ice King's imagination? That's too bad.

Sekto Springs 11-15-2012 09:15 AM

There's supposedly a crossover episode on the horizon where Finn and Jake meet Fionna and Cake, but I haven't heard anything about it.

Phylum 11-16-2012 12:48 AM

Red Dwarf X is on over here, so I've watched the first 2 episodes.

They're not great and there have been better episodes, but I'm enjoying it. It still feels like Red Drawf, even if the actors are older. Both episodes have had standout moments in "a moose!" and Chinese whispers respectively. Lots of people are saying that it's not as good as earlier seasons, but Red Drawf episodes haven't come close to some of the early gems in almost 20 years.

It's not perfect, but it's good enough for me.

Mr. Bungle 11-16-2012 08:58 PM

Just finished season 3 of Adventure Time

Holy shit this show is deep.

Sekto Springs 11-16-2012 10:50 PM

The next season is going to blow your mind. Hard.

Dixanadu 11-17-2012 08:38 PM

I watched seven episodes of Super Jail tonight at a friends, episodes were burned onto a disc for us to watch. Before I watched them, Chris introduced to me to the 'worm' video and the 'Time police'.

Loved all the episodes. I found myself chuckling at least, and at most, laughing my ass off. The humour is right down my alley.

Jailbot is at the top of the pile. It's Christmas execution was my favourite.

Vyrien 11-18-2012 03:17 AM

If you haven't already, you should go watch the other episodes. The first two seasons are absolutely brilliant.

For the record, the Twins are my favourite characters.

OANST 11-19-2012 06:17 AM

Superjail is pretty amazing.

God, I need to catch up. I'm only on season 3. I enjoy it and all, but I know how insane it gets later on and I'm so tempted to skip to season 4.

Don't skip Season 4, it's great. Especially "I remember you"

How could characters from a fan-fiction meet the people they're based off of. Fionna and Cake don't exist, they're just Ice King's made up characters. They're in an episode called "Bad Little Boy" next and Marshall Lee talks, the fan girls will go insane. Oh in February there's a comic series coming out about them.

Just watched some Superjail and it's extremely weird. Especially in the first one when the bird rips off the guys penis.

Without even trying, I can come up with numerous convoluted, silly, and fantastical ways that they could pull this off. It's fucking Adventure Time, not an episode of Dexter.

Mr. Bungle 11-23-2012 12:27 AM

I actually finished Season 4 a few days ago. I didn't really know how to sum up my feelings about it. I mean, it was amazing, but it was whoa.

Steamer_KING 11-23-2012 01:39 AM

Was your mind blown?

Hey, watch it there, buddy!

Mr. Bungle 11-23-2012 05:42 AM

Dexter sucks. Adventure Time is great. Stop watching Dexter. Watch Adventure Time instead.

For great justice.

Also, I'm watching The Office (UK). Great series. Garreth is the best.

"Different frogs different times"
"I don't like to shit on my own desktop"
"I was just wondering if there will ever be a boy, who can swim as fast as a shark"
"If the cherries are red, they're ready for plucking"
"I don't do sloppy seconds"

Nepsotic 11-23-2012 07:06 AM

Gareth is also My favourite character, and the Christmas special is hilarious. It's a pity, not many people appreciate the Office nowadays.

Mr. Bungle 11-23-2012 07:12 AM

I still need to watch the specials.

MeechMunchie 11-24-2012 02:02 PM

The Wolfman, a just-about-enjoyable Joe Johnston romp.

Dynamithix 11-24-2012 04:05 PM

So I watched Looper today. In my opinion it wasn't as great as everyone's been saying, it was a decent movie though. I liked the plot and the whole concept of the movie very much.

Mr. Bungle 11-24-2012 04:36 PM

Yeah, I thought it was pretty underwhelming. Good, but not great. Most of the scenes at the farm were rather boring.

i watched some of that. weren't sure what to make of it.

EDIT: whoops, no i didn't, wrong film.

Crashpunk 11-26-2012 02:17 AM

I watched The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.

It was soooo bad.

I actually liked it... ._.

Mr. Bungle 11-28-2012 06:49 AM

I watched The Grinch last night. The animated one. It's always great.

Has anyone here watched Regular Show before? I've seen a couple episodes and it seems alright. People compare it to Adventure Time last night, so I'm considering watching through it.

Dynamithix 11-28-2012 07:03 AM

Finished watching Superbad. It was like a funny version of Project X. Fogell is the best.

Comparing it how? In quality? Because the show itself is nothing like Adventure Time in theme, tone, or characters.

It's not nearly as good as Adventure Time, but it's not terrible. I don't really like it, personally. It's one of those "shows about nothing", which can be great, but it's not really my cup of tea.

I asked about that, and the only response they could come up with was that both have "stoner fanbases".

They just seemed to get lumped together all the time, not sure why.

Sekto Springs 11-28-2012 10:04 AM

Probably because Pen Ward, J.G. Quintel, and Thurop Van Orman are part of a creative troupe that work on each other's shows, so they're often spoken of in a collective sense. There are some similarities in their art and writing style, which is probably why the shows share a mutual fanbase.

Otherwise they're all fundamentally different programs that appeal to different sensibilities. Flapjack was more gritty, bizarre, and darker than the other two. Adventure Time is silly, lighthearted, and sort of arbitrary. Regular Show has shades of both, but it's far more "chill" and the humor is more subtle I suppose.

To give you an idea, here's a short film by Pen Ward (Adventure Time) that is pretty representative of his style.

And here's one by J.G. Quintel (Regular Show).

Wings of Fire 11-29-2012 08:50 AM

My early Christmas presents to myself arrived today from Amazon.

I got all five seasons of The Wire and The Royal Tenenbaums because I'm very curious about the kind of movie that would make OANST's favourite ever.
