Is OANST back already?

Damn right you are. I'm glad to see this place alive and well.

It's barely alive, and it certainly isn't "well".

This place needs to start drawing in the fanbase from Facebook. Over 15,400 'likes' last time I checked yesterday. I'm sure there are people who would be interested in these forums had they known they exist.

And there are always people viewing topics when I swing by, so there is activity. Mr Lanning hasn't quit, don't see why this place would.

Varrok 08-27-2012 12:47 AM

I doubt Mr. Lanning visits this place

Phylum 08-27-2012 12:49 AM

Isn't Wil really Lorne?

Wil 08-27-2012 04:07 AM

I recognize several names from Facebook as users who used to post on OWF but were put off by the standard arseholeness of this place.

Love you all.

Nepsotic 08-27-2012 05:42 AM

Only few people have the stomach for it, and the arse.

EVP_Glukkon 08-27-2012 05:56 AM

I'm shocked. This place has such witty conversations and hilarious posts! I've been away for about four years though so perhaps my perspective; while fresh, is an uneducated one.

But despite the implied hardships that I gather you've all been through, I think you all deserve a fine pat on a back for keeping this old gal running!

Wil 08-27-2012 07:48 AM

You can't have been away for four years if your user account is only three years old.

Unless he has lurked for a year or more before he got an account, and then created his account three years ago but never really used it.

Is that a non-standard semi-colon? STM would praise your avantgarde approach.

I like to mix things up.

Regarding the speculation surrounding my statement of four years, I have indeed been in the 'background' for some time prior to creating an account and I suspect that many people will continue to do the same.

August of 09' brings back many tragic memories, my absence would begin shortly there after. Returning to the topic at hand! I would put forth the titles 'Abe: Reloaded Edition' or 'SlaveRunner: The Next Level'; the worst ideas that I could come up with at 4am.

STM 08-27-2012 12:38 PM

I like your style, man. I like your; style.

Nate 08-27-2012 05:07 PM

Is there any reason to keep this thread open?

Bullet Magnet 08-27-2012 06:18 PM

Yes. We still need to name Abe HD. Come on you slackers!

Asmoden 08-28-2012 01:24 AM

I whant to know what are the most rated names.
And what is Wil favorite:)

Wil 08-28-2012 01:37 AM

I liked the submission that was Sekto Spring's email address.

MeechMunchie 08-29-2012 02:07 AM

No, he actually talks like that. I know because we just finished a PM conversation from two years ago.

Varrok 08-29-2012 02:11 AM

I knew you'll finally think of something witty after these two years

doomcorner64 08-31-2012 09:30 AM

Oddworld: Mudoken Pops

Nepsotic 08-31-2012 10:43 AM

Imaginative.

OddjobAbe 08-31-2012 12:38 PM

Snide.

Fred The Fuzzle 09-01-2012 05:04 AM

'Oddworld: Abe's Rhapsoddy'.

I've always linked Abe's Oddysee to Homer's Odyssey (purely from titles).
Homer's Odyssey is an epic poem, a Rhapsody is 'a portion of an epic poem adapted for recitation'. The definitions eerily mirror Abe HD, 'adapted for recitation' is to be 'adapted for new platforms and remade'.

I can't think of anything else that both conveys meaning and has 'od/odd' in it.

SpAM_CAN 09-01-2012 05:16 AM

To call it that the soundtrack would have to be written by Brian May and Roger Taylor.

Bullet Magnet 09-01-2012 09:28 AM

Rhapsoddy is clever.

OANST 09-01-2012 09:42 AM

OBJECTION!

STM 09-01-2012 09:55 AM

Actually....I thought it was quite good too!

Bullet Magnet 09-01-2012 10:10 AM

I couldn't tell how much of that was directed at me or Fred.

MeechMunchie 09-01-2012 10:14 AM

I couldn't tell why referencing Ace was necessary.

OANST 09-01-2012 10:19 AM

It's necessary because I'm bored, and I just found that thing.

Strike Witch 09-01-2012 10:22 AM

Also Rhapsody is the name of another obscure PSX game everyone has forgotten about.

It's a musical.

Is Abe HD a musical?

OANST 09-01-2012 10:26 AM

There's whistling.

Varrok 09-01-2012 11:41 AM

And rhyming.

Wil 09-01-2012 12:28 PM

And music.

Bullet Magnet 09-01-2012 12:29 PM

Bell chiming.

Bodd T.W. 09-01-2012 03:07 PM

And dying.

just wanted to continue the rhyme. :\

MeechMunchie 09-01-2012 03:45 PM

And moonlight, but not love or romance.

Ah well...

Let's face the music, and DANCE!
*Tappa tap*

MudokonRyan 09-02-2012 11:55 AM

I like the name Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty

And then people would be like "Oh, a new Oddworld game", and then be disappointed to find that it is only a remake. I think it has to have RE or Oddysee in there somewhere.
