3. Half of the characters are homosexual, and pleasantly so.

hey look a game about these forums

Crashpunk 07-06-2011 03:48 PM

I've been playing Team Fortress 2, Spiral Knights, Jak and Daxter 1 and Minecraft

And I recently got a pre-owned boxed Mega Drive and been playing Sonic The Hedgehog :D

Mr. Bungle 07-06-2011 07:13 PM

I'm playing Brawl a lot with my brother, and Melee too, trying to unlock all the secret characters once again. Still playing Final Fantasy VI when I'm not tearing my hair out over Starfox 64.

Spooce-aholic 07-07-2011 12:20 AM

I played Warcraft. I didn't like it. I preffer Red Alert.

Did you mean Starcraft? That seems more... in-tune with an RTS than WoW.

I prefer the old Red Alert games, before EA fucked it up beyond recognition. They totally ruined Tiberium Twilight.

I fucking hate EA.

Please tell me you are joking.

Dixanadu 07-07-2011 05:02 AM

A Warcraft RTS? As if people weren't bored enough running around a horribly detailed landscape and having no social lives.

Wings of Fire 07-07-2011 05:38 AM

...The Warcraft RTS's came before the MMO and helped define the RTS genre.

MeechMunchie 07-07-2011 06:23 AM

I'd like to think he was joking.

Wings of Fire 07-07-2011 06:40 AM

It's the internet, I absolutely can't take that chance.

Havoc 07-07-2011 07:25 AM

Playing trough Abe´s Oddysee again since I never completed my previous playtrough.

Tiberium wars and Red Alert 3 are still pretty good I think. I still find Tiberian sun to be my favorite, but the third games of both series are nowhere near as bad as the purist nerds make them out to be.

C&C4 isn't even a tiberium game as far I'm concerned.

Havoc 07-07-2011 11:29 AM

C&C4 is an insult to the entire C&C franchise. Maybe even the entire RTS genre.

Dixanadu 07-08-2011 01:05 PM

I barely acknowledge anything related to Warcraft, so the existence of a Warcraft RTS is news to me.

Red Alert 3 wasn't...well, serious enough I think. I mean, for god's sake the innuendo in some of the cut scenes were ridiculous. Game play wise, yes. The variety of how each faction build their bases was good.

I liked Tiberium Wars very much. The slow-down bugged me, but that was it.

C&C4 was utter shit. No harvesting!? Poaching tiberium fields from enemies and being in a mad rush to secure it was so fun!

Not to mention it ended all of a sudden.

Oh, and no Scrin. Gotta love them fuckers.

T-nex 07-10-2011 05:43 AM

I have a special edition of Red Alert at home. Metal box n all. I liked the game :D

ANyway i KNEW if I just waited, Terraria would be cheaper. So yea. 5€. Im taking it :D Wheeeee!

Dynamithix 07-10-2011 08:01 AM

Ha ha! I got it for 2,50€, Nex. :p

It was 2,50€ for a hour and then they either fixed it or they just raised the price.

Anyways, Terraria is good, but I can't get the multiplayer server running. I want to play with my friend. :(

.

It's a game where the soviet union is still in power while the chinese empire uses giant samurai robots as an attacking force. There is no room for serious in that situation.

Dixanadu 07-10-2011 09:31 AM

You forgot war dolphins and school girls with psychic city-destroying powers.

It wasn't the Chinese, either. Actually...I don't even think the word 'China' was even said in that game.

Wings of Fire 07-10-2011 10:00 AM

Giant robot SAMURAI?

Magical schoolgirls?

...Yeah, that's not China.

Dixanadu 07-10-2011 10:22 AM

The faction being called 'Empire of the Rising Sun' also eliminates all possibility that they're Chinese.

Also, George Takei!

Has anyone played Shadows of The Damned? I really want to get it but I'd like to know more first.

I'm playing Splatterhouse. It's awesome. A Very fun (AND CHALLENGING!!!!!!!) beat 'em up. Unlocking moves on the go is nice, and while it is an extremely violent game, it's still silly and funny.

Wings of Fire 07-11-2011 12:42 PM

Bought Audiosurf, Magicka and Shogun 2: Total War in the steam sale.

I haven't started Magicka yet, but Audiosurf is fun and OH MY GOD SHOGUN TOTAL WAR IS SO GOOD THEY MADE SO MANY IMPROVEMENTS FROM THE FIRST ONE AND MEDIEVAL TOTAL WAR 2 THE GAME JUST FEELS SO PACKED AND PRETTY AND HNNNGH

OANST 07-11-2011 12:43 PM

Stacking was on sale for 600 points, so I picked it up a couple of days ago. It's fun.

I fucking knew it. I shouldn't have listened to dumb reviews that said it was a 4/10 game.

I'm gonna buy it soon definitely.

Also, I've been playing Earth Defense Force 2017. It's really fun and I'm guessing it's at least 5x more fun with a friend. Sadly it doesn't have online co-op, but when my friend comes home from his vacation, we're going to blast through the game in split-screen.

If it looks like the kind of game you like then you shouldn't really listen to anything a reviewer has to say past 'Glaringly flawed game mechanics'. Player scores are generally better.

I heard that its too short for its own good and has no replay incentive, that said, I plan on picking it up when its around $20.

Got back into Bad Company 2, not as good as I remember being, but its still a lot of fun. I also finished the story mode of MK9 and still need to finish Dead Space 2.

You're right. I usually do that, but with Splatterhouse, I decided to not buy it. I was wrong.

Is it worth 10€? (12$~) I saw it on sale yesterday at a local store and I'm a bit interested.

Daxter King 07-11-2011 01:35 PM

If you're going to play the multiplayer, then yes, if not, no.

Dynamithix 07-11-2011 01:37 PM

So the singleplayer is bad?

Disgruntled Intern 07-11-2011 03:34 PM

I grabbed Dead Block off of XBLA on a whim. It's short-ish, and the soundtrack is god awful, but the couch co-op is fun. A tad pricey for what is is, but worth picking up if you have extra points, or if it goes on sale.

Daxter King 07-11-2011 03:53 PM

I tried out the Dead Block demo, seemed like it had potential if I had some co-op buddies, but sorta got boring. Is there anything to the game besides putting the stuff up on windows and doors? Also, I dont think I have you on Live, DI, what is your gamertag?

So the singleplayer is bad?

Not bad, just painfully average. You might enjoy it, but there are far better SP shooters out there. Again, multiplayer is where the game really shines.

Mac Sirloin 07-12-2011 12:26 AM

Splatterhouse is pretty long. I'm maybe 6 hours in and only 25% done. You can restart from the beginning with all of your moves whenever you'd like, too, so lots of replay value.

I heard it takes 'bout 10 hours to finish the game.

Crashpunk 07-12-2011 02:16 AM

Bought Pokemon Snap for my N64.

My god its amazing.

T-nex 07-12-2011 04:14 AM

Ok so Terraria is pretty fun. Been playing it with Dripik....
It's not like Minecraft though, beyond the mining. There's a lot more adventure and exploration involved, and less focused on the creative aspect.

The problem with the demo is that you don't really get to experience how hectic the game can actually get. Some of the maps are downright huge, almost to the point of being a problem. Still fun. That being said, the whole premise of the game is putting blockades on doors and windows, or at least until you find your upgrades and traps. Each character has something different.

Although I think dead block is split screen only, which is lame.

My gamertag is Johnny Truant21

Dynamithix 07-12-2011 07:46 AM

I checked the Dead Block demo out too. Honestly, I thought it was bad. Something that would get boring after an hour or two.

Disgruntled Intern 07-12-2011 08:27 AM

By yourself, probably. But I've been playing it with Dorian and it's been entertaining enough. Meh.

Dynamithix 07-12-2011 11:21 AM

Yeah, but no online co-op is a big minus too. I'm sure it's quite fun with a friend on split-screen.
