Goddamn, they take their sweet time, don't they?

Have there been any updates or hints dropped anywhere about anything Oddworld-related? I am frothing at the bit here.

You saw what happened when they were rushed on Munche's Oddysee.
Id rather them take their time and not cut any thing out.

metroixer 09-11-2006 03:28 PM

Well it's about god damn time they put something new in this site :D. Although I do wonder when it will get more info. That picture teases me so.....

I don't want them to rush the film, I just want them to get the website up.

Wil 09-11-2006 05:28 PM

What would you prefer they put on there? “Bugger all’s happening, but keep hanging in there guys!” or “We’re contractually obliged to say absolutely nothing”?

The website update will come when there is actual news. :)

Nate 09-12-2006 03:22 AM

Well, I would have preferred that they not drop any hints if they weren't going to follow through. Reminds me of a guy I know...

Dusan 09-12-2006 11:32 AM

Are there any interviews and any other fresh evidneces about making the film?

Zerox 09-12-2006 11:50 AM

If there were, we'd know, no wouldn't we?
In short, the answer is a big fat hairy NO

Slaveless 09-12-2006 05:18 PM

Yes, there are. The website is your proof. It says in bold print: 'New Oddworld page coming soon!' And there are little metal Oddworld logos on some film. That's enough to say that they are making an Oddworld movie.

Dusan 09-13-2006 12:13 AM

I said ''interviews and any other fresh evidences...''

Wil 09-13-2006 02:45 PM

Still no. Nothing since Kimon asked two days ago.

looney-bin 09-15-2006 02:02 AM

I wish they'd just update soon. Update the oddworld database, answer some more e-mails, anything aslong as we know they didn't just put up that one new page and wonder off.

Xavier 09-15-2006 02:05 AM

Heh, they are still doing stuff, just they can't talk about it just now

Zerox 09-16-2006 08:08 AM

It is rather annoying and tantalising knowing there's something going on, and has been for ages, and we have no clue when to expect anything at all.

nicksmith41 09-16-2006 01:25 PM

To me this is exactly what happened with stranger's wrath, once they made Munch as a launch title for the X-Box, they were really quiet for a looong time, and like 4 years later stranger just popped out of no where. I think its a cool way to do things, gets fans all excited and thinking: aww they are like dead...OMG a new game I thought they were all dead yay :D

BloodWolf 09-16-2006 08:16 PM

Very old news.

Al the Vykker 09-20-2006 12:54 PM

The OWI main site is making me sad for it teases us way too much. It's been a few months since they updated the page with the Coming Soon and my impatience is getting the best of me!

heh what else could they have done?
let the old Oddworld.com page? more members would have left because they think OWI's dead...

they are working on something, and I'm happy with that :)

Nate 09-21-2006 05:31 AM

I would have been happier with the current image but without the words "New Site Coming Soon" as it clearly isn't.

Bonedust 09-21-2006 01:19 PM

It all depends on what you consider soon to be.

I think we can all agree a quarter of a year isn't soon.

Or can we?

Steef Head 09-26-2006 04:17 PM

A quarter of a year definitely isn't soon. I waited a month or so, knowing that it would take them some time but i hope they have that site up soon :(

Xavier 09-27-2006 01:26 AM

aaaaaaaaaah c'mon give them a break, they are working to please us, just be patient

I agree it's long, but try not to moan to much about it

magic9mushroom 09-27-2006 11:13 PM

My view:

Like so many projects, this one has been delayed. It might be at risk of becoming vaporware. So, they put up a site, thinking that the release will be in say, 2 months, so the new site = 1 month. (the timing is probably out, but you get the idea). But then, something goes wrong, and they now have next game in 6 months, and then the site should only be put up when they have a good idea of the game, and an idea of the release date, so they delay it.

Cullen Heath 09-27-2006 11:30 PM

Just hush up, quit your whining and wait, all of you. Unless you want to make the movie?...You'd probably say 'yes' to that, but my point is that they are trying, and that they are working hard on this, so leave them alone, stop complaining, and be patient. It's going to happen.

Nate 09-28-2006 01:00 AM

The movie was never going to be released in a month or even six. And it doesn't count as vaporware until a) it's officially announced, b) given an official release date and c) that release date isn't met.

magic9mushroom 09-28-2006 07:16 PM

I'm giving an example so don't jump down my throat NDW!!! I don't know ANYTHING about moviemaking but I submitted what I thought was a possible cause and put in some dummy timings to give a better meaning to it. They were never intended to be anything close to the actual timings! so quit flaming me!

Nate 09-28-2006 08:20 PM

I realised you weren't suggesting the timings were plausible. What I was objecting to was your labelling of the movie as vaporware.

Aside from that, might I suggest that you make the text in your sig smaller so it doesn't appear as such a huge block of text?

I don't know how. And yeah, I'm not very familiar with terms like that.

Nate 09-29-2006 03:52 AM

It's quite simple really.

magic9mushroom 10-02-2006 09:02 PM

I'll get rid of it anyway. I'm just trying a lot of things - see my new av?

Xavier 10-03-2006 01:42 AM

yes we do, now get back on topic please :p

munchman92 10-21-2006 05:06 AM

i havnt been on here a while coursework and all that and there is like 11 pages to this post so i wondered does anyone know when the new site will be done?

Slaveless 10-21-2006 05:13 AM

I have always guess when AO has its tenth anniversity of being out in the public. That would mean that we need to wait another 11 months.

munchman92 10-21-2006 05:15 AM

11 months! why did they have that big front page it seems very strange doing it if there is 11 months to wait.

Slaveless 10-21-2006 05:18 AM

Yeah, that kind of thing works better with a video game. But that's just my prediction.

Nate 10-21-2006 05:18 AM

I suspect that if it were for a clear moment in time, they would have stated that ("Watch out for our 10th anniversary" and suchforth). This is one that will have to go in the "When they're ready for it" pile.

munchman92 10-22-2006 04:55 AM

why close the website down for this long thats what bugs me

Xavier 10-22-2006 05:10 AM

they didn't close it, you can still find all the old stuff here:
http://www.oddworld.com/firsttenyears/index.shtml

munchman92 10-22-2006 05:32 AM

yeh but what i meant is why put the page "new site soon" if there isn't going to be a new site soon?
