Havoc 05-10-2006 03:42 PM

Jack had walked into the building and down the hallways that led to the elevators. He was going to prepare some things for Charger's arrival in basement five, when another agent walked up to him.
'Jack,' he said a serious tone. 'Got something you might be interested in. There's been some activity near a town called Golden Valley. You picked up Charg there, didn't you?'
Jack hit the elevator button.
'Yea I did, what kind of activity are we talking about?'
The other guy held still for a moment.
'We might have found the gang he was with when he left The Community.'
Jack raised his shoulder in a simple way.
'So? Send some of the new guys after them. They are trained well enough to handle a wannabe bounty hunter, a tiger and two stray cats. I've got bigger stuff to take care off if you don't mind.'
'We have reason to believe Fisher is out in Golden Valley as well,' the agent then said.
Jack turned just as he wanted to walk into the elevator.
'Fisher? In Golden Valley? With Charger's group? Are you sure, that doesn't make sence at all.'
The agent made a gesture.
'I don't know about his motives, but I thought it might be worth mentioning. He's on the ten most wanted list afterall.'
Jack nodded in understanding.
'Hmhmm, okay here's the deal. Get the chopper ready for take off, I'm going to try and get some info from Charger before we go back there.'
'Got it,' the agent said, then turned around and went down the hall.
Jack stepped into the elevator and decended to the basement levels.

Dave 05-10-2006 04:16 PM

OOC: Fisher? Most Wanted? ... Yeah, okay. Sounds resonable.
---
Fisher was too angry with the boy, with Slade, and with himself to think of anything else. He flipped his hand at Slade and blurted "Whatever!" He then sank into his chair and resolved not to speak again to Slade for a while.
---
Blaze coughed. "Uh, this just occured to me ... why doesn't Streak just write Charger out of danger?"
Dave slowly shook his head. "No, guys. It won't work."
Art snorted. "Oh? We've seen what she can do, and you know better than anyone here what she's capable of. So why won't it work?"
Dave couldn't explain that it wouldn't be fair to everyone else working on the story ... but then realized that he didn't have to. Aside from that, there was something more practical.
"What if Charger is out there fighting someone, or in captivity, or whatever, and then bam, he's gone. Wouldn't that arouse more suspicion? Make people think he's got powers he doesn't have? Or conspiritors? It's really not smart. And," he continued, cutting off Blaze, who looked ready to say something, "we know that it's dangerous for Streak to mess with people's memory. Because if people get the feeling they knew something that they were forced to forget, it'll cause more problems."
Art huffed. "Sounds like a lot of bullshit."
Dave huffed back, mocking the hunter. "Sounds like I'm being ****ing sensible."
Streak: "That still doesn't answer the question of how we'll get there in time."
Dave lowered his head and furrowed his brow in thought. After a few moments, "I guess there's no reason we can't use Streak's power to create a direct, clear route from here to DCO. We could drive there as fast as possible without any traffic or twists or turns or anything. Any objections?"
(OOC: Before my characters respond to this query, I'm gonna let others decide if this sounds feasible)

T-nex 05-11-2006 12:18 AM

OOC: Sorry for my absence :'(

-IC-

Krisha listened to the whole conversation.

"Wait wait... I don't get it, afre ya like gonne build a road straight to The Community? Sounds crazy..." She said, and thought for a few seconds, "Crazy but fun..."

She walked over to Kix.

"Kix wake up! You can't just sleep now... We have to move on." Krisha said, and shook Kix a little, then we she didn't wake, Krisha became more violent in her shaking.

Kix slowly opened her eyes.

"What? I was dreaming a giant mouse wis right before me!" Kix said annoyedly.

"Yea well, you can save that for later. We gotta move on. ... And save Charger." Krisha said.

"What? Is Charger in danger!?" Kix asked worried.

"Yes... Appraently they took him to some place at The Community... Some agents or som ething. Dunno." Krisha asked.

"What? The Community? Now? Argh!" Kix said all worried, "Will someone explain to me what's going on?"

---

Akky looked at the Human. He had always hated humans.

"Hmm.. I just gotta see him. None of your bussiness. Now tell me, do you know where he usually hangs out?" Akky asked, not sounding too friendly.

Splat 05-11-2006 01:19 AM

ooc: Random character in this post.

"What? The Community? Now? Argh!" Kix said all worried, "Will someone explain to me what's going on?"

"Someone kidnapped Charger in Los Santos while we were trying to stop Fisher nicking Dave and Art thinks they're taking him to the little town where I ran in to you guys. Now Streak thinks she can make a hole from here to there."
Pseok ruffled his feathers. "I'm no less confused than you are."

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Evan Jarvis prefered to use his gun more than his muscles, but when Jack Macker said 'Lug this unconscious tiger-man inside' you didn't stop to warm up.
He was close enough to the glass doors to see 10 or 20 other people inside, waiting for their burden and felt relieved.
Unfortunately his relief was short-lived when a dark shadow droped in front of his group and the guy at the front screamed. Charger suddenly felt a little heavier and Evan Jarvis wished he was still working at McDonalds.

Elfair was determined not to bite any of the seven people carrying Charger towards the door, but while the first guy's arms were busy holding Charger up he couldn't defend himself and she tore open his chest with her claws and leapt at the next guy.
The next guy was no harder than the first, but at that moment a bullet passed over her head and she turned in time to see a large number of agents pouring out of the building. She pulled Macker's gun out of her pocket and started shooting madly, running out of bullets quickly. She threwthe gun down and pulled out the guard's, but by now she was surrounded.
She took in that her chances of saving Charger had just reached around rock bottom and, after shooting a couple more she turned and ran back to the mountains.

Evan Jarvis sighed with relief and they quickly carried Charger into the building before 10 men left again to persue the ware.

ooc: i'm really intrigued now... What do they want Charger for?

Havoc 05-11-2006 06:00 AM

'A road of sorts trough the air or something?' Kaira wondered. 'I don't know... Wouldn't that draw huge attention to us?'

---

As a team of agents scurried after Elfair, the guards quickely carried Charger inside.
Charger hardly noticed, he was still out cold as he was taken to the basement levels. And when he started to wake up, he was already down there. As he slowly got his vision back, he looked around a bit.
He wasn't laying down, like the last time he woke up in some place he didn't know. This time he was hanging, or standing, with his arms cuffed to the wall.
'Great...' he mumbled as he squeezed his eyes. The room was dark, there wasn't any fancy white wall anywhere, and no bright white lights on the ceiling. It looked more like a dungeon. Just a wall of brownish bricks, and a small yellowish lamp that was supposed to light the room. Infront of him was a table and a chair.
He felt kind of stupid. Getting so close to escaping just to be recaptured. Well, at least Elfair was save. Or so he hoped.
On further inspection of the room, he noticed that it didn't have an observation window, no cameras, nothing to keep an eye on him. Then again, they probably figured it wasn't needed. The cuffs Charger was held with were solid steel and the locks looked brandnew. Wouldn't surprise him if it was some sort of titanium. Nope, no breaking out this time. He could only hope that... no who was he kidding, he was a dead cat.
After a few more minutes, a dark figure entered the room trough the steel door and the other end of where Charger was.
'Welcome back,' the voice said. Jack, no doubt.
'Great, you again...' Charger reacted. 'Is it to much to ask to be a little original with the welcoming comite?'
Jack grinned and walked up to him, standing behind the table.
'Sorry, you'll have to do with me.'
'Well thanks, you just ruiened my day,' sarcasm was all over it and for a second they stared right at each other, seeing who would look away first.
After a minute of silence Charger got anoyed, and spoke up.
'Are you going to tell me what the hell you want from me? Or do you just enjoy pinning people to walls?'
Jack grinned again, then grabbed the chair and sat down.
'Well, we picked you up for research purposes actualy. But before we get to the cutting and slicing, I need you to tell me something.'
Charger laughed heartly.
'You expect your test subject to tell you stuff? I must have hit you harder then I thought.'
Jack rubbed his hand over the wound on his forhead.
'Funny...' he reacted. 'You'd do good to just co-operate. It's for your best interest.'
Charger pulled up an eyebrow. Yea right.
'You're going to cut me up, how the hell is it in my best interest?'
Jakc then made a hand gesture.
'Well, maybe not for your best interest. But if you do as I say, the least I can do is make sure that your girlfriend Kaira is merely shipped to a zoo.'
Charger's eyes grew. Anger built up inside him again, even more so as when he dragged Jack of Elfair.
'YOU LEAVE KAIRA ALONE YOU HEAR ME?!'
He tried to break trough the chains, which obviously didn't do much. But in anger he tried to anyway.
'You touch her, and I'l kill you!' he breezed in Jack's face.
Jack nodded.
'I won't touch her if you start talking...' he merely said in simple manner. 'But you better make up your mind soon... because I have a chopper waiting to take me to Golden Valley as we speak.'
Charger grunted, panting a bit as he recovered from his little anger outburst.
'Why the hell should I trust you...' he growled underneath his breath.
Jack then stood up, walking up to the door.
'Alright Charger. I'l tell her you said hi.'
Charger rose his head as he walked off. He had to decide... how could he trust a guy like this. On the other side, he could at least do as he said, then at least he tried to save Kaira the pain.
'No wait!' Charger yelled after him. 'What do you need to know!'
Jack turned with a grin.
'Thats more like it...'

T-nex 05-11-2006 06:09 AM

Kix looked around frustrated.

"Charger, kidnapped?? Argh we gotta do something, quick!" she said.

Krisha shook her a bit while saying, "Be calm!! We'll find something out. Charger's a big boy, he can handle himself. It's probably not as bad at it sounds. He's probably on his way here as we speak."

Kix tried to calm down, and Krisha was slightly satisfied, though she knew she probably was wrong. But she knew an agitated Kix was no good.

"Ok, whatever! Screw the suspicion! Lets just get going before it's too late." Krisha said.

Gretin 05-12-2006 02:29 AM

Olivia rolled her eyes, "I'm with the cats on this - we're wasting time here, and I have a feeling time is something your friend Charger doesn't have a lot of. If..." she looked at Streak, "...you, Streak I presume, have a way of getting there faster, I humbly suggest you just do it."

Although she didn't show it, she was eager to see just what Streak was going to do. And she had her orders.

<•-•-•-•-•>

Akky looked at the Human. He had always hated humans.

"Hmm.. I just gotta see him. None of your bussiness. Now tell me, do you know where he usually hangs out?" Akky asked, not sounding too friendly.

Daniel snorted, "If he's your friend, find him yourself. I have better things to do."
With that, he burst into flames and shot up into the sky, becoming obscured by the clouds.

<•-•-•-•-•>

Slade made no reply to Fisher, but turned back to his papers. With no physical indication of doing so, he called on Daniel...

<•-•-•-•-•>

Daniel was hurtling along in fireball form above the clouds when he sensed Slade trying to communicate with him. What now? he thought, somewhat angrily. He turned sharply downward, landing on the mountains on the outskirts of Golden Valley and his flames went out. A shadowy form of Slade appeared in front of him.
"Arrow," he spoke, "all plans regarding the boy David have been changed. I understand he didn't take your offer when it was given to him, so he's missed his chance. Due to his actions, especially that of attacking our ally, he is no longer on good terms with us. He is to be captured unharmed and taken to either myself or Robert Fisher."

Daniel was surprised at all of this and was about to argue when Slade continued, "I have asked Olivia to do some analysis on the group accompanying the boy, as Fisher has suggested the best way to get at him is to take away his protection. What I want you to do now is come here, to the remains of Los Santos, so you will be available when Olivia is ready. Is that clear?"

Daniel scowled, "Perfectly. I will see you shortly."
Slade's shadowy form disappeared and Daniel stood motionless for a few minutes. This was... unjust! But he couldn't go against the will of Slade... He'd already tried it once before and was lucky to still be alive and powerful. But he felt that this sudden change just... wasn't right somehow...
He turned, and looked out over the city, putting his hand to his chin thoughtfully...

Havoc 05-14-2006 09:05 AM

OOC: Come on people, what with the sudden sillence?

Splat 05-14-2006 09:07 AM

ooc: i was gonna wait for Dave.

Dave 05-14-2006 09:14 AM

"Now Streak thinks she can make a hole from here to there. I'm no less confused than you are."
"A road of sorts trough the air or something?" Kaira wondered. "I don't know... Wouldn't that draw huge attention to us?"
"I'm with the cats on this - we're wasting time here, and I have a feeling time is something your friend Charger doesn't have a lot of. If ... you, Streak I presume, have a way of getting there faster, I humbly suggest you just do it."

Streak: "Guys, I think Dave meant more of a road or street. Right?"
Dave nods ... then looks over at Olivia. "But ... are you coming? I don't think we've even met."

(OOC: LOL. I was doing a bit of backsearching and reading before I posted, and you guys totally posted while I was here ... or whatever ... hahaha. Bleh.)

Splat 05-14-2006 10:54 AM

Pseok was now listening and feeling rather impatient. "Well get on with it. If we're going somewhere we might as well go now! With all this talk i might get there faster flying!"

He might have added that bringing Olivia seemed like a bad idea, but then they'd all start talking again and it'd be next week before they made this tunnel or road or whatever.
Human's were so stupid sometimes!

ooc: Sorry for the abrupt (and very short) post, but lets get on with this, ok?

T-nex 05-15-2006 12:23 AM

OOC: lol yea... We're slowing down again XD... Brings memories back of the loooong flight to Los Santos. :p

-IC-
Kix and Krisha waited some more....

Dave 05-15-2006 05:54 PM

Streak sighed and pulled out her paper and a pen. She hurriedly wrote "There is a clear and safe road for us to drive on from here to DCO. The gas tank in our car is full, and we'll get there without incident."

And it was so.

Art went to the car first and started it up. Dave followed and climbed in back. Blaze took the front seat next to Art and Streak sat next to Dave.
Art motioned to the others. "Let's get a move on."
(~so everyone is in now ... let's not wait~)
Art started the drive back to The Community. It would probably take an hour ish, considering the straight road and the "no incidents" part Streak had added.

OOC: Since there's still things that might happen to Charger or Elfair in that hour, I'll leave it at that for now.

Gretin 05-16-2006 12:39 AM

OOC: Sorry I didn't get around to posting yesterday, the darn internet connection crapped out. Anyway, since there'll have to be a bit of a wait for the stuff with Charger and Elfair to happen anyway, let's just pretend this next bit happened before they left, eh? :p

IC:

Dave nods ... then looks over at Olivia. "But ... are you coming? I don't think we've even met."

Olivia grinned, "No, we haven't. And whether I'm coming or not... Well, that depends on you and your friends. I am heading to the Community myself, but somehow I doubt you'll want me coming along with you, so I'll have to come by myself."

<•-•-•-•-•>

Daniel made up his mind. It was risky, and he didn't know if it would work or not, but he thought he might as well try it. He concentrated and pinpointed Dave's location. Dave... Can you hear me?
He wasn't quite sure whether Dave would be able to pick up on this, as he'd never tried communicating with anyone who didn't share the same skills as he did. But he could only try.

Havoc 05-16-2006 06:41 AM

Jack grabbed the chair and sat down, leaning on the desk and looking directly at Charger.
'First off all, why did you leave The Community?'
Charger threw him a sarcastic face.
'The place was a shithole... So I left.'
'So you left...' Jack mumbled. 'Didn't you just inherit a huge villa far away from it?'
'What are you? My very own stalker?' Charger asked anoyed.
'I'm a lot more then just your stalker, wise guy,' Jack said harsh. 'Now answer my question.'
Charger held still for a moment. He had no idea what was going on, but he had the feeling he was in way over his head into something he knew absolutely nothing about. After a moment of thinking, he answered.
'A friend had some... bussiness, in Los Santos.'
Jack got a notepad from his pocket, skipped a few pages and looked at the sheet.
'Drakko?'
Charger rolled his eyes.
'Yes... Drakko,' he sighed.
Jack got a thinking look on his face for a moment. Then adressed Charger again.
'Whats your bussiness with Fisher?' he then asked.
Charger got a surprised look on his face.
'Fisher?' he asked. 'I don't have any bussiness with that guy. If anything I owe him a punch or two.'
Jack stood up.
'Wait, so he's not with you?'
'If he was with me,' Charger said on a sarcastic tone. 'You wouldn't be standing here right now and I would be magicaly transported to somewhere save. So no, he's not with me.'
Jack 'hmm'd' a bit, then turned around and headed for the door.
'Hey!' Charger called after him, worried. 'Your not going to harm Kaira are you?!'
But the door slam shut in the middle of his sentence.
'F*ck...'

---

As Jack was on his way to the helipad he picked up another agent from an office.
'I'm heading off to Golden Valley, I want you to check up everything we have on Fisher. Something isn't right, I want to know where EXACTLY we first saw him again.'
'Yes sir,' the agent said.
'Mail it to my PDA when you got something,' Jack said, then walked out ahead of him to the elevator. But turned around just before he got in.
'Oh, one more thing,' he said with a smile. 'Call around to some of our contacts, see if any of them are interested in a talking white tigress.'

---

Kaira poked her head trough the back window, while she sat in the backside of the hummer.
'Art, what is this DCO thing?' she asked nervously. 'Is Charger in danger?'

Dave 05-16-2006 09:00 AM

Art shrugged. "Knowing Charger, I doubt he's in any actual trouble. The best I can say is that they're probably trying to figure out where he came from. But that might not be it, either. In any case, I doubt that they're going to kill him. He's probably just really uncomfortable."
Just then Dave said, "Who said that?"
Art: "I did, dipshit."
Dave: "No, no, after that. Someone said 'Dave can you hear me?' Didn't anyone else hear it?"
General disagreement. No one else had heard it.
Dave sighed. Maybe the all this craziness was finally getting to him. If he was starting to imagine voices, things definately couldn't be going well.
But after a few minutes, Dave reconsidered. He'd always been fascinated by telepathy, but had ultimately regarded it as foolish. Whenever he "thought" he had been reading minds, he knew deep down he had been creating responses himself.
But this ... this was almost like a voice in his ear instead of his head. So he thought about it ... Yeah, I guess I can. ... uh, May I help you?

T-nex 05-16-2006 10:13 AM

Krisha looked at Dave confused.

"I dodn't hear anything..." She responded and then turned to Art, "Hey, you know... Cussing is bad for ya."

"Aww leave the guy alone... Is there anby way we can speed this thing up? I'm getting impatient. What if Charger is in real danger?" she asked worriedly.

"Well.. Art, What are the DCO doing actually? What is their bussiness? They sounds like some really unpleasent guys."

Splat 05-16-2006 12:04 PM

Pseok, being rather too large to fit in the car, was flying along behind, and therefore missed an opportunity to make what he'd consider a witty comment about humans that everyone else would probably ignore.

Things were probably better this way.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

If Hiding was an Olimpic sport, Elfair may well have been chosen to represent her country (assuming her country could find her first).

However, Hiding wasn't an Olimpic sport. Elfair was still pretty good at it though.
She had quickly moved up into the mountains and by the time the DCO people arrived to look for her she was long gone leaving no trail. Among the rocks she'd found her own trail to follow and had soon brought down a young bear which would sate her hunger for a while. She'd also made up her mind that wherever she was it was a long way from home.

But as she was, dressed in black trousers and jacket over the white surgical gown, she was aware of how conspicuous she'd appear to just about anyone. In a clearing in the forest below the mountains she could see a small village that looked as if it had seen better days. Still, about half of it was standing.
She began making her way down the mountainside. She'd slip in to the damaged half and see what she could salvage for herself. The last thing she wanted was to have to bite someone.
She took one of the guns with her.

Gretin 05-17-2006 01:35 AM

But this ... this was almost like a voice in his ear instead of his head. So he thought about it ... Yeah, I guess I can. ... uh, May I help you?

Daniel smiled slightly. So it had worked afterall... He considered for a few moments, then responded,
I don't think so... But I may be able to help you. I informed you earlier that I had a message to you for negotiating a certain deal - a deal that would have you receiving benefit from myself and my master, Joseph Slade, in return for giving what you could. However, this has changed. I can't be completely sure why, but I suspect Fisher's intervention. In any case, Slade is now set against you, so you'd better be on your guard.

<•-•-•-•-•>

Olivia waited until the group were out of sight, then she formed a car for herself like she had earlier. She got in, started it up, and drove off after them...

T-nex 05-17-2006 02:42 AM

Kix Look at Dave. She thought he behaved a bit funny. She discreetly touched him, and tried to sense if anything was going on. She cought some outer activity. She removed her paw from him and sighed, as she didnt wanna interupt him or anything.

"Are we there yet?" Kix complained aloud.

"I don't know, but I might aswell take a nap in the meantime." Krisha said, and closed her eyes..

Dave 05-18-2006 08:09 AM

"Well.. Art, What are the DCO doing actually? What is their bussiness? They sounds like some really unpleasent guys."
Art: Dimensional Containment Officers do their best to keep interdimensional breaches under control. At least, that's the idea I got when I did that job. They might be after any of you, if they've heard of you."
Blaze harrumphed. "Oh? But I suppose you and Dave are safe, being fully human."
Art shook his head. "Dave isn't. He's from another dimension, after all. He may not appear different, but he is different."
By now they had nearly covered half the distance.
Dave was aware that Kix was trying to get his attention, but he still had to respond to this voice. He knew now he was definately not making it up himself.
What do you know about Fisher? Who's after me? What do you even want from me?

Gretin 05-19-2006 01:13 AM

Daniel sighed, I know little of Fisher. Let it suffice to say he is in an alliance with my master Slade. I want nothing from you, it's my superiors who are after you. And what they want is anybody's guess, though my guess would be power. Do you have any idea how powerful the desire for power can be? And considering, to my knowledge, you are from another world that has some degree of power over this one, it's not hard to figure what they want from you.
He looked back over the city again. This had better not take too much longer, he thought, Slade would wonder if he was late arriving...

<•-•-•-•-•>

Olivia was following behind the group at a distance, so they couldn't see, though she knew the eagle flying overhead could probably see her if he tried too. That didn't bother her, however, as she was confident she could deal with it if she had to. And if she was too far away it would be difficult to carry out her orders...

Havoc 05-19-2006 09:04 AM

OOC: http://www.oddworldforums.net/showthread.php?t=13920

Sorry for the hold up.

Gretin 05-23-2006 01:53 AM

OOC:
I don't know about you guys, but I think we should try to continue for as long as we can until Havoc is able to return. As he said himself,
:

I would like everyone active in the RP to try and be less dependant on other players, especialy me. So that, if someone doesn't post for a while, the RP can go on. I for one might not be able to post much the upcoming weeks due to some problems in RL, and I will be taking a small step back from the RP for a while. I won't leave, but I will just post less. In the mean time, I'm trusting all you guys to keep the RP active. This is a very nice RP, always has been for the past 2 years, so lets not let it die out.

And yes, I realise there's only so much we can do since the main aim of most of the characters right now is to find Charger, but I'm sure there's somethings we can do to keep things moving along, at least for a short while. But if no one agrees... Well, I guess I'm on my own. :p

Splat 05-23-2006 04:11 AM

ooc: Well, looking for Charger doesn't actually include finding him :p. If we need to get a few random characters for the DCO, no harm in that.

Only other significant problem i see is Kaira, but she can just tag along in silence or something, or stay at the car. Whatever. Right now I'd say Gretin, Dave, finish the conversation between Dave and Daniel so we can say 'half an hour passes, panic ensues'

Havoc 05-23-2006 04:24 AM

OOC: I agree with Gretin. You can make the bunch run into a bit of trouble on their way or something. No reason the RP should come to a hold just because I'm not here.

Gretin 05-23-2006 09:24 PM

:

ooc: Well, looking for Charger doesn't actually include finding him :p. If we need to get a few random characters for the DCO, no harm in that.

I know; that's kinda what I meant. :p And yeah... the conversation between Daniel and Dave needs to finish too, but I need to wait for (real) Dave before continuing with that. And since I was the last person to post IC, there's no point me doing it right now.

Dave 05-24-2006 09:34 PM

Oh. Hm. Sorry. I personally thought it would be kind of awkard to just blow through and continue, considering circumstances. But, uh, if everyone's saying "let' go," then let's go.

Dave flinched at the news that Fisher had a partner. And Slade? Wasn't that the name of the villain on that cartoon? He couln't remember if he'd read about someone named Slade...
And he wasn't sure what they thought ... what power could they get from him? Or maybe they were gonna give him some strange power ... And the strength of the desire for power? Dave had never really cared to be really powerful. Sure, he's had the occassional want for something like flight or control of time ... but those were surely only dreams.
And sure, he had control over certain aspects of this world. But not all. He wasn't sure he could change things while he was here
That's not true, said a voice.
His train of thought was cut off abruptly. Was that Daniel?
No. No, that was you, Dave. You know that you've been doing shit. Remember the Frosted Flakes? And how did you get Art's guns? I'm starting to think I really do have some supernatural powers.
And on the heels of that: Great, I get a superpower, and all I can do with it is move shit around. I can't even change the flow of time.
So he realized: Slade was, quite clearly, a bad guy in this story. And they would want Dave for their own nefarious purposes.
The joke would be on them in the end, Dave decided. While he may be a god of sorts - he knew deep down that he wasn't truly a god, but the similarities were too close to be ignored - he wasn't the sole dictator. So unless they found a way to bring the other writers here, Slade and his crew would never fully reach their goal.
He realized that nearly ten minutes had passed since he last contacted Daniel. What he said to Daniel was: Noted. I'll consider it.
And he did consider it briefly, but shortly thereafter decided that if they wanted him, they'd have to come find him.

Gretin 05-24-2006 10:38 PM

Daniel stood waiting for a short while, then when Dave answered he responded, Be on your guard. You have strong friends, if you don't want to be taken I'd suggest you keep close to them. And one other thing... Don't trust Olivia. Now, I must go - next time we meet you must treat me as an enemy.

He turned away from the direction Dave and the group were and shot up into the air in fireball form again, this time flying for the ruins of Los Santos.

OOC: Alrighty, lets get back to bussiness.

---

Charger still hung on the wall, his arms growing a bit numb as they were in the cuffs above his body. He pondered about what was going to happen. Escaping was out of the question, he was dead no matter what was going to happen. What he was worried about was Kaira. He always tried his best to keep her out of his affairs, he didn't want to put her in danger. But this Jack guy, he knew everything about them. And he wondered how he knew all that.
All he could do now was pray and hope Kaira would be alright, brought to a zoo would be the best scenario compared to what could happen to her. He didn't even want to think about that.

---

Meanwhile Jack had boarded his chopper and was making way to Golden Valley. If Fisher and the rest of Charger's gang were realy there, he'd hit the jackpot. He'd be in for a promotion and he could finaly get away from that stupid Community project which he had been working with for five years now.
The chopper followed the road which led from The Community directly to Golden Valley. None of them were aware that this road had only just been created, it was just there. Always had been as far as they knew.
As the chopper followed the road, a car was driving in the other direction, heading for The Community. Kaira was sitting with her muzzle still trough the back window and looking trough the front window out onto the road ahead. She hoped Charger was okay, and she hoped she would get there in time to help him out of needed.
Suddenly she heard a loud noise above them. A chopper, which went by fast. She pulled her head from the little window and looked back to it, making out two letter on the tail of the machine before it was to far away to read.
'D I,' she mumbled, then poked back trough the window. 'Guys, I think a chopper of that DCO thing just flew over.'

---

Meanwhile in the chopper, Jack had also noted the car, and something strange was in the back of it. But with the speed they passed each other, couldn't make it out. He signaled the pilot to fly back a bit, then grabbed his binoculars and looked down the road untill he had a fix on the car.
'Kaira...' he said with a smirk on his face. 'Gotcha. Turn around! Follow that car, then block it's path!'
The pilot followed Jack's orders, and quickely made a 180 turn that almost made Jack throw up, then hurried back to the car.

---

'It's coming back...' Kaira said worried as she was looking out into the sky again.

Art heard the chopper coming around. "Godammit," he muttered. "Everyone be cool." He pushed the accelerator further down, urging the car to move faster and faster. Even when it was at top speed, he still pressed forward, willing the car to move faster.
Blaze turned in his seat to look out at the chopper. "How do they know it's us?"
Dave moaned. He had never wanted anything like this. "What are we going to do?"
Art snorted. "Outmaneuver the chopper, naturally. It probably isn't armed - or at least I'm hoping it isn't. So it's likely going to try and block the road. So we keep going. Worse comes to worse, Dave-o and Streak can muster up some firepower."
Streak: "What if I write a problem into the chopper? Like an empty fuel tank, or faulty gears?"
Dave: "Or, what if the folks in the chopper are the only people who know how we can get Charger? If we crash their helicopter, it might wreck our only chane at finding Charger."
Art: "So what? We stop and let them land? What if they're armed? We've got one working gun among the four of us that can hold guns."
Dave: "Like you said. Streak can whip up some weapons if we need them. If she doesn't mind."
Streak sighed. "As if I have a choice just now. I guess I can do it if need to."

Kix thought for a while.

"Hey... Maybe we could let ourselves get caught or something." She said, "Me and krisha have power which can manipulate locks and stuff, also we have the general battlemagic. I don't think it would be too difficult to get away from them. They probably don't know we have power..."

"Hmm... But what if they do have something against supernatural powers?" Krisha asked.

"Well I don't know... What if me and Krisha surrendered or something, slowing them down, then you guys could catch up or something?" Kix asked.

OOC: Dave.,.. Do something about Akky... I'd have to poweplay to get him to the community <.<

Splat 06-05-2006 07:34 AM

If anyone had noticed the fact that Pseok had disappeared they didn't note it.
Well, disappeared would perhaps not be the right term cus, you know, that'd involve being invisible or vanishing in thin air or something.

Actually it wasn't that interesting. He'd got hungry so he'd stopped for a bit to find something to eat. It wasn't like this road was going anywhere, right? And he could easily catch back up with the car when situation called for it.

Well, he'd eaten and he had.... almost caught up with the car. In fact he'd arrived just in time to see one of those helicopter things swooping over them like an oversized pigeon. Or seagull. Pseok considered for a few seconds. Definately more like a seagull.

But the way the thing was dodging around almost move for move with the car gave him the general opinion that this was nothing good.
Narrowly resisting his initial reaction to throw himself blindly at the machine, he decided it might be a little wiser to follow behind for a little while first.

Dave 06-05-2006 10:41 AM

OOC: It's come to my attention (or rather, I've had worries and they have been confirmed) that some of my characters are getting to be too powerful. This will be remedied soon.
---
Fisher stood from his seat in Slade's office, made a perfunctory farewell, and returned to the spot by the lake.
Everyone had gone. Well, except that cat Akky.
Fisher sighed. He could lend Akky a hand. He was at least trying to help.
"Hey! Cat! Do you, perchance, know where everyone has disappeared to?"
---
Streak was thinking to herself. It seemed to her that her only use was fixing problems. And what's worse was she had to use her powers to do it. She hated being forced to do it. But ... it was one thing if there was no alternative. And was there no alternative in this case? She doubted it. There had to be a way other than brute force.
The way she saw it, these DCO folks would only be after people like her and Blaze. Maybe Kix and Krisha, too. If they wanted to, they could try and pass off Kaira and the cats as normal animals ... though a tigress in the back of a car could be hard to explain.
Art: "I'm willing to bet that they aren't as interested in you two cats as they are interested Streak or Blaze."
Streak nodded: "Look, I'm impressed that you'd offer to turn yourselves in to buy us more time, but if I turned myself in, it might mean no more trouble for you guys."
Art coughed. "That's not exactly what I was saying ...."
Streak: "Never you mind. I've decided. I'm going."
Blaze: "Uh ... have you forgotten that Charger is still in there? If you disappear on us, how can we hope to get him out?"
Streak: "How can you all keep counting on me to get you out of a jam? That's not the way things are. I don't like having to patch up our troubles. I'm grateful to you for getting me out of Fisher's hands, but that doesn't mean you can use my powers like your own personal toys. Like, camping equipment was one thing, but guns and weapons are another. There has to be another way. And I say that if I turn myself in, I'll probably be able to get him out myself."
Blaze: "No, you won't, because you'll be in the same boat as Charger is."
Art: "No, Blaze, I think I see what Streak is saying. These guys more than likely have a full profile on all of us. Except the kid, I guess. The point is, they likely know what Streak can do, and will probably try and use her to their advantage. And when they hand her the paper and pen ..."
Streak: "I can get us out and away."
Dave: "Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you say earlier that you couldn't do that?"
Streak: "I did, but the situation has changed. Then, there were alternatives. Now, there aren't."
Blaze: "Then why not just do it now?"
Art pointed out the front window, where the helicopter was circling around to face them. It began to land. Art stopped the car.
Art: "Because the helicopter is landing, and if they get suspicious, we're probably in huge trouble."
Streak nodded. "Okay, guys, this is it."
Streak climbed out of the car and stood in wind kicked up from the spinning helicopter blades, raising her hands.

Gretin 06-05-2006 06:01 PM

Olivia's focus shifted instantly to the helicopter as it came flying above the road. She concentrated for a moment.... Dimensional Containment Officers...
She looked back down the road to the car she was following, and it wouldn't have taken a rocket scientist to work out what was going on. She pulled off the road, stopped her car, and stepped out.
She looked around, then noticed Pseok flying overhead in the same direction as the chopper. She hadn't noticed him become seperated from the group...
She was nearly ready to report back to Slade, but she was curious to see what would happen up ahead. So, striding out smoothly, she moved off on foot towards them.

<•-•-•-•-•>

Daniel flew along in fireball form over the submerged remains of Los Santos. He calculated the location of Slade's protected offices, and sharply changed direction, flying straight down into the water. His flames died out instantly, and he swam swiftly to the door, pulled it open, and went in, the water staying outside the door as if there was some sort of invisible barrier stopping it. Closing the door carefully, he walked down the hallway to an elevator at the other end. He pushed the button to open the door, walked in, and, as if by the elevator's own accord, the doors shut and it started moving upwards.

Havoc 06-08-2006 05:06 AM

'I don't know, Streak,' Kaira mumbled, but then kep silent as she didn't have any better idea anyway.
Meanwhile the chopper had landed, the car had stopped, and Jack was making way to the car with a gun pointed at the driver - which even though it was a long time ago, he thought to reconize as Arthur D'Angelo.
'Arthur!' he yelled over. 'Long time no see! Tell your friends to get out of the car, and noone will get hurt!'
Kaira didn't think or wait for any respons and leaped out of the back of the car, then sat down and flattened her ears. She waited untill something happened.

T-nex 06-08-2006 05:25 AM

Krisha sneered angrily...

She poked Kix and whispered: "Do you think i cant blow up his gun?"

Kix shrugged.

"I don't know.... But I don't think we should do anything just yet." Kix said, And then she stepped out of the car, looking at Jack, examining him, and the helicopter.

----

Akky looked up at Fisher. He was reliefed he hadn't been left alone.
He approached him and then considered.

"I don't know where they have gone, all I know is that they are so damn obsessed with saving that Charger-guy from somewhere." he said.

He hated the word "Charger". Why did Kix like him more then Akky? He grunted and then looked up at Fisher again.

Splat 06-08-2006 01:22 PM

Seeing the guy pulling out his gun was enough of a sign to Pseok that whis was nothing good.

Flying high overhead, he moved past the helicopter before swinging around and diving down, stretching out his claws and aiming to hit the guy with the gun in the back.

Havoc 06-09-2006 09:07 AM

Jack hadn't noticed the bird. Well, he had noticed it, but since his inteligence was cut off when the gang left for Los Santos, he didn't know Psoek was with them and thus didn't pay much attention to him.
But when Psoek came diving back, Jack could only barely duck out of the way. He raised his gun to take a shot at the bird, but decided not to, as he only carried one clip with him at the moment.
Kaira watched intensely, hoping noone would get hurt.

Dave 06-09-2006 09:33 AM

Art ignored the greeting.
Streak slowly got out of the car and stood facing Jack. She didn't step any closer. She, like the others, was nervous about Pseok's attack. They didn't want him getting shot.
Blaze looked out his window at Streak and whispered. "Are you sure about this?"
Streak didn't respond. Instead, she spoke to Jack. "I'll go with you. I'm the only one you want."
Blaze, fighting his better judgement, got out of the car and stood with Streak. "Me too."
Dave: "You guys, you don't have to do this."
Art hushed him. "Let the grown-ups handle this, kiddo."
Dave, pissed at being singled out as a child again, ironically reacted like a child - he put a sour look on his face and crossed his arms, and decided not to speak to anyone. Maybe he would see what that Slade guy wanted, after all, if given the chance.
Streak didn't argue with Blaze. She raised her hands and began to walk slowly towards the chopper.
