Has the names turns to Native wildlife?

e.g I was a Mudoken Scub, now I am a fuzzle.

No, they changed the names to match Stranger's Wrath...

The lowest ranks are now the Live Ammo types. There's a thread in Forum Suggestions and Help if you want more information.

I a few questions myself. First off, when Abe died in AO, in the moon movie, was he revieved? And why was the symbol of infinity(sp?) being wrote on the ground for?

Glukinator 04-26-2006 04:22 PM

Why is it that sligs were those masks?

Dark Elite_H2 04-26-2006 04:24 PM

Ya know, I believe the Glukkons put masks on to;

1) Keep their ugliness concealed from them

2) Have a breatheable environment so they won't suffocate in their masks.

3) Make them look more viscious :D

It symbolizes the eternity of life: birth, life death, rebirth etc. And yes, Abe was revived. I guess the Bigface used it to sort of 'rebirthed' Abe again so that he may continue his journey.

Plus it's a good Jesus-metaphor.

Or not.....

Glukinator 04-28-2006 01:04 PM

Why are the only species that were clothes Muds, Interns, and Glukkons? Do they have no pride?

used:) 04-28-2006 01:08 PM

Why are humans to wear clothes? Because it is both fashionable and necessary.

Sekto Springs 04-28-2006 01:16 PM

Only hippies and communists don't wear clothes. Their perverse way of 'sticking it to the man'.

I don't wear clothes because I'm lazy and claustrophobic.

Well, it is possible Abe didn't die. After all, the Big Face said he was dead but Abe probably would have to be alive to hear that.

Still, the infinity.

Watch the Skykurl{sp} video carfuly. The birds fly in a side-ways 8 {or infinity} just before Abe transforms. It's possible that on Oddworld it is a/the symbol for the skykurl, and does not represent Infinity.

Oddish 04-28-2006 02:42 PM

It could mabey symbolise invincibility, as Shrykull is ,and Abe was invincible for a short minute as Bigface granted it.

Or Abe has rebirthed as Shrykull.

Sekto Springs 04-28-2006 03:06 PM

Hmm, wow, I never noticed that before. What a nice spot, Adder!

I agree with Marchello, I think Shrykull symbol does mean invincibility.. Or perhaps a metaphor for infinite power (infinity).

used:) 04-28-2006 03:34 PM

I think the twin bird rings symbolize the 'third door' into god like power and stuffs. In which he has already past through life, and death,a nd now has the power of the Shrykull. Or possibly the two parts to his Shrykull power, the hand scars.

I don't think they're trying make Abe look like Jesus. Jesus does't go around killing sligs and farting.

Oddish 04-29-2006 08:32 AM

Mabey they are trying to show some kind of hidden Jesus with Abe, Crucifix ending? Abe is actually more like Mosess, rescuing slaves.

"Erm, let my people go?"

Sekto Springs 04-29-2006 08:58 AM

That's what you think...

Yes. Abe is more like Mosess than like Jesus. (Although, Mosses does't go around killing sligs and farting either.) But I still agree.

If something is a metaphor, then it doesn't have to be accurate down to the bone of what it means.

Nate 04-29-2006 08:43 PM

My point was that he died and was resurrected. Like Jesus. And Neo.

Marco the Glukkon 05-01-2006 09:31 AM

I think with Abe, when he is being reborn, I believe it's like he was reborn to shed his old life as a simple floor waxer dude. The shedding of a life full of lies that he was made to believe. This rebirth helped to not only bring him back to life, but also to realize that this is something he has to do. This is something Abe has to do in order to save his species. He cannot (or will not) go back to the life he had before. Aside from his foot falling, the last thing he saw was the moon, thus giving the last image he saw before the ending of his past life. He is still Abe, but he was revived to a new life.

What, you think that Abe was gonna be a zombie? lol

Bullet Magnet 05-01-2006 10:36 AM

The symbol for Shrykull is the rock art of a paramite with the head part of the scrab symbol coming out the top, with paramite fangs on its head and surrounded by rings.

Bigface giveth, Bigface taketh away. He nearly killed Abe at the begining of AE

Munch's Master 05-02-2006 11:21 AM

^ I love that 'Bigface giveth/taketh' thing you did. And I do see the Abe/Jesus/Neo connection. But Abe would own either of the other two any day. ;)
Neo could fly and do martial arts, and Jesus could walk on water and heal the blind, but Abe can heal the sick as well, turn invisible, possess people and turn into the Shrykull.
EDIT: oh and don't think i'm mocking Jesus. That post was intended to be sarcastic, in an OANST style, before any of you accuse me of religious predjudice.

Xavier 05-02-2006 11:57 PM

stop making links with Neo. :p
The Matix was released after Abe's Exoddus

Munch's Master 05-03-2006 12:16 PM

So therefore, Neo copied Abe? In that case, I guess Neo can be taken out of the equation.

No, the matrix in its itself was a melting pot of various mythilogical references.

Especially the Animatrix.

Ninjaxe 05-04-2006 06:34 AM

I have put this here:p Not a new thread just in case, I get shouting at.

I have to declare, I feel sorry for munch. He seems to be in so much pain. Refering to the Labour Egg Storage level at the very end. When you put all the eggs in the well. I panned over to munch and he was shaking madly. Long periods like that he would be dead. Did anyone else feel sorry for him? He suffering for abe. Doing abe's dirty work.

The matrix was a melting pot of weed, mescaline, acid, coke, uppers, downers, screamers, laughers, and ether.

o o o another question in MO. In the offices of the Glukkons. There appear to be computers. Are these voice recognition?

And why is there zap vendos about. These are for Munch only right? Vykkers dont use these? o and Aquabounce, they cant stand water?

Xavier 05-07-2006 12:22 PM

well yes I guess the computers are voice commended. I don't see how else Glukkons would use them

as for the power ups I'm not sure who can use them, Zap and Aquabunce are only for Munch I guess

Slaveless 05-07-2006 03:52 PM

I'm guessing that the vendos are used for study purposes. Such as, when Vykkers are studing underwater wild life, they could use an AquaBounce to get out of the water. (I can't imagine Vykkers as much of a good swimmer though.) For Zap, they could use it on their Snozis, to stun people, for easier studing.

The Marching Mudokon 05-07-2006 06:40 PM

I think that's the best explanation I've heard so far. Experimental purposes by the Vykkers make sense. Maybe they were doing some market research, and they might not just be for Munch, there could be other Oddworld species we don't know of that could use Aquabounce and etc. Just cause it had Munch's face on them doesn't mean it's just for him (outside of the game) it's just an easy way to identify the vending machines.

Xavier 05-08-2006 03:07 AM

well I guess that's a good explanation, they could be making some experiments on the other gabbits that were captured before, and after having fun, selling their skin, lungs, etc...

Nate 05-08-2006 06:27 AM

Except that Munch was the only Gabbit (and probably the only creature) with a headport to allow him to use Zap.

Xavier 05-08-2006 10:51 AM

well sam has a head port too :p

but you have a point here, since munch seemed to be the first gabbit that was supposed to find the caged fuzzles.

Wil 05-08-2006 01:55 PM

Zap is a sports drink. That's what it would have been intended for on the other Gabbits. The zap emitted by Munch's headport is just a side-effect.

Don't forget Bounce.
Munch can use that too, and Expresso.

Well, they could also be using it to test on other Gabbits besides Munch.
After all, I thought they captured Gabbits as well to test on.
...Or were the nets in the beginning from fishing boats?
