I am completely new here :] I really enjoyed your hunt with you, reading all the findings etc. I also want to try to help, but don't know if it's any help. The latest tweet states "Listen to the spirit of the past. Rise with us." This might meant to listen to some older video they posted for hidden message? I also tried different approach with numbers comment. Maybe 33 74 72 83 51 means world count? https://puu.sh/qXbkH/d9951e0db0.png This is the result... First part is when you use all the text on page, second only main text... Which could form something like following: :

Just noticed the "well I rescued Mudokon's" message has been replaced with this: Well, I //--/ED Mudokon/. But who// _____ r///u/ //? Is it static or is he saying, "well, I'm Ed Mudokon. But who r u?" Not ideal to be looking at source codes and such on my phone. Has anyone seen if 1029.io/ed has changed? With regards to the /8291 page, I think we're seeing the full phrase that's been popping up in the videos recently. On the top line in the middle you can see "belikEDe". Be like Ed? Perhaps it's like one of those "decide your own adventure" books you used to get where you would turn to a certain page deciding on your actions. Each URL in turn sometimes leads to several more URL's. Each page's name shows up in the tabs of your browser as a variation upon "8291", for example a few are "82Nine1" and "829One" "Go Back" URL http://i.imgur.com/oQKCGgS.png?1 Investigating the the "Go back" URL, the full URL of the page is "1029.io/8291/2749102934.html". Whether or not those numbers are important or not is yet to be seen. Perhaps they just chose a large string to stop us finding it by accident. With regards to the main body of the text, I think the word "Possible" is on the first line, and the word tattoo on the second possibly. It's quite hard to work out the majority of it. I think the URL's at the bottom could be A. "Try Again" and B. "Give in". Each of these URL's have their own page within with more gibberish as of now. A: "Try again" URL I can't see anything intelligible in this one, at a loss there. B: "Give In" URL http://i.imgur.com/sgc8UTc.png?2 "So desperate, So hungry, so thirsty", then the rest I'm stuck on. "Stay" (Or stop) URL http://i.imgur.com/EmoClKk.png?1 "What else can we do?" and some other stuff. Lost again. The "Fight" URL as I'm calling, about halfway down it beings to make sense to me. We have: "How long must we wait Who will save us Where is Ed We need Ed" Some other stuff, and then this URL: "theresstilltimedontleaveushere" And that page contains the text; "if o--y _he_ --ew." Which I think we can assume, when filling in the blanks says "If only they knew." If you scroll down this page for some time, the phrase "if only they knew" keep repeating, until the bottom where you get the "We'll be here, waiting" message again, and then some gibberish that looks like it could be "But not yet." There's so much text and so many different links it's going to take a while to go through and figure out what the gaps mean in each phrase, and then if there's a specific order each phrase must go in. |

Looks like he's going over the process we have tried in the past or maybe instructions? Like what haven't we tried? EDIT: I was looking at the message at the end of the If Only They Knew page and the wording started to bug me. 'Far too many video game characters were harmed extremely badly in the making of this experience. In a sane world this would never have happened. We're sorry.' It's the only thing so far that had broken the 4th wall and acknowledged Soulstorm as a video game. Could this be OWI saying that mudokons have suffered from us taking too long? Or is this eluding to a Bad Ending scenario like Gunnr suggested. |
The URL that said "There is still time don't leave us here" now has characters blanked out, looks like they're changing bits of the site as we work our way through it.
Also with regards to the "try again" URL, I think it could be "There must be a way_the spirit_where is it_where is---fi--" Can't figure out the end bit. |

Hmmm i wonder if this is in reference to the fire reflected in Abes eye(s) from this: http://i.imgur.com/GthtlMam.jpg The pick IS named "ABEFACE_8291" 8291 or the phrase could be figurative and refer to the "spirit" or "fire" of the mudokon rebels/spirits of the past/us owi fans working on the arg ect (wow I've never use quotations SO much in this arg) Also with "GO BACK" (we-try but its not possible at all its just too dark you have to help us try again give in) -could "give in" also be "give it" or "gave it" ..so give or gave what? That's all left behind from the last step of the original part of the ARG. It is strange how they never removed it, but it's kinda cool that they're keeping it there.

Guys, I was doing some copy pastes to document all this and I got the impression the pages were changing as I was navigating them. Could it be that we need to visit the pages in a given order to unlock something? Also it seems like we are unlocking as the /8 changed into /8/2. Attached, snapshot of today :) |

If there is an order we have to go through them all in (which does seem like a logical solution - I first thought it was like one of those "decide your own adventure books", and perhaps we have to find the correct ending) then I'm not sure what it is. Are there any clues in the text as to which order they should go in? It doesn't really feel like a cohesive story. It very much reminds me of this YouTube trail - You have to click an option on each video to advance your story. I think it'd be helpful if we realised how we'd made the 8/2/ appear at the bottom. Our best shot now would probably perhaps be to construct a definitive list of our best guesses at what each page says, and where the links on that page take you. Or something. |
