Skillya is the Slig queen, the Glukkon queen you are talking about is Maggie...
The secret area in question is the one in the ‘Stockyard Escape’ level with four screens arranged in a square—the AO guide book calls it Secret Area 9; I call it Secret area I. The first way into it brings Abe to the upper right screen, and the next Abe portal brings Abe to the lower left screen. You have to complete the area in a different way depending on how you enter it. Why? No idea.
I always thought the second entrance is useless.
Which one is Abe's home? Monsaic Lines or Necrum?
Okay, maybe there is a way to beat this secret area using the second entrance.
:
That said, he probably feels more at home in Monsaic Lines as the spirital centre of the native mudokon world. Necrum is a graveyard, after all. |
What are the RuptureFarms Meep Ranch, the SoulStorm Micro Brewery, and the Evenwurst Weenerz Co.?
After Abe and Munch got back to the Raisin in MO, the first Glukkon whose wealth they had come to forcibly donate to the Lulu fund was in charge of a meep ranch run by a small posse of mudokon shepherds, whether they knew it or not. The Micro Brewery was their next stop, and was conveniently located in the middle of a sizeable scrab reserve. Evenwurst Weenerz Co. I know little about, besides the fact that it appeared only in the gameboy version of MO and presumably manufactured low-quality sausages from whatever strayed too close to the local recyclers.
Given the number of Fuzzles found in cages within Evenwurst Weenerz, I would deduce that they are an important meat source. Evenwurst Weenerz also has a wealthy Glukkon repository hidding deep within it: Fort Glokz. Security here is so tight that Abe and Munch can only infiltrate it by finding an old Mudokon flying machine.
Wow. I feel cheated by the lousy Xbox port now.
I haven't played AE, so I was wondering:
Was Necrum a city built for the dead (like something out of egypt), or was it a city that mysteriously was wiped out, and became the home of the dead (like a forgetten mayan city or something)? |
If one or the other, it was built for the dead. Long ago, the Mudokon tribes travelled to Necrum to leave their dead.
It's peculiar that both towns and graveyards are promoted to "city" when large enough. Fortunately, the latter is rare enough not to cause confusion.
I believe the correct term is Necropolis.
Thus, normality is restored. You had no idea how much that little issue kept me up at night.
during the transition FMV from the mines to necrum in AE, abe lands on a big statue kind of thing, what is that big statue thing?
The remains of a guardian. When alive, could spit fireballs from the orifice between it's tusks.
We haven't been given any other information than that... |
i found a photo of lady margaret on the net http://depthsofoddworld.net/images/c...kkon_queen.jpg
is that really she ? because she doesn't look like a glukkon |
Here’s a more complete and impressive copy of that image. That is indeed Lady Margaret, but it’s only a concept image, and is possibly very different to the Lady Margaret we will eventually see. I think she is actually more like the version that can be seen in The Art of Oddworld Inhabitants, where she sits in a sedan chair hefted by Kinto slaves.
yes, this is lady Margareth, the glukkon queen:

what is a Khanzumer (and if you can find a photo...)
No image of the Khanzumer exists, all we know is that they are the most valuable creature on Oddworld' and presumably the name is a play on of Consumer. There was already a alrge discussion on this, use the search function/Google.
The more recent image of Lady Margeret was one carried by Kinto slaves, where she more resembled Sam in style (half a body on top, and the large egg sack thing behind), rather than that thing. I'm fairly certain that's a far more reliable image. |

No such image exists online, but you can find it in The Art of Oddworld Inhabitants, available from Ballistic Publishing. Don't ask for scans: we cannot provide them.

closest thing you can get... go buy the book, you wont regret it :) |
Will Abe's Oddysee ever be rereleased for PSP with paramite stockyards, meeches and all the other crap not included in the final PS and PC games?
There is a way to get it onto your PSP, but it requires a PS3 to do so.
:
i went to my local bookstore and they said that they could get that book for me, so ive ordered it! thanks for pointing out that book! |
You serious? I thought it was only available by a publishing co-orperation in Australia, online.
But if that doesn't work, you can always order one. |
