No.

Leto 07-14-2006 05:32 PM

No.

But I like Primus. Makes me want to learn proper bass.

Statikk HDM 07-14-2006 07:49 PM

Yeah, he's a pretty good player, Claypool. One of the first bands I was really into. The whole band could play tight as hell, Lalonde is a great guitarist and Alexander could really show off and work well in odd time signatures. Not to take anything away from Brian Matia, who is a more working-class player and I think his style of play actually meshes better with Lalonde and Claypool. Its also interesting that the players were in radically different types of bands before joining Primus. Claypool played with Blind Illusion, a much heavier thrashesque jam band and Larry Lalonde played lead for Possessed, a black/proto death metal band. Another thing I like is how they are a power trio. I think having a band of over 5 people is really indulgent and not needed.

Leto 07-15-2006 12:54 AM

True. I'm quite a fan of Sausage and C2B3, but probably because I'm such a little bitch and followed through all their subdiscographies.

Fez 07-15-2006 03:44 AM

Pulp have 6 members and they are all needed.

Kimon 07-16-2006 07:50 AM

Well, does anyone like Third Eye Blind? I do believe they are sort of poppish, and not that great really, but they are absolutely wonderful for summer music. Mucho enjoyable.

Also, does anybody know the Violent Femmes? From the 80's? Blister in the Sun and such? Well, they're playing at a free concert in my city! I'm very excited, fun will be had by all.

Another current interest is State Radio, who I recently saw live. Camilo and Man in the Hall are excellent. Fun.

That's all I have for now.

Fez 07-16-2006 07:52 AM

Everyone get Thom Yorkes solo CD, The Eraser now.

Leto 07-19-2006 02:10 AM

Watch.

Sweet mother of shit I need an ebow.

Fez 07-20-2006 03:15 AM

MUST HAVE EBOW.

Kimon 07-20-2006 11:38 AM

I've been listening to this really awesome punk/rockabilly band called the Bloody Hollies. They started locally; in fact, my Mom worked with guitarist, and he's a real funky fella. They're getting a lot of recognition now, which is awesome. Go Buffalo!

Searex, as a fellow punk listener, I implore that you in particluar check these guys out. ;)

And wowie gosh, is that Ebow ever awesomely cool.

Leto 07-20-2006 04:37 PM

I likes the sound of Watch Your Head, in a really punkish way.

:

MUST HAVE EBOW.
Yus! :D But $80 USD is quite the pricetag.

Statikk HDM 07-20-2006 08:40 PM

I was listening, against my will, to a popular current rap station on a car ride with my brother. We were going out to eat and my brother always calls "Shottie!" like he is 9 years old and subjects me to the most trite, oversexed, nursery rhymes over shitty played out beats I've ever listened to in my whole life. I listened to some Ultramagnetic MCs and X afterwards to cleanse my ears. How could something go from incredible to aural torture in such a short time span?
Edit:How does R. Kelly still have a career? Shouldn't Bubba be slamming it to him in a 12 by 9 right now? First O.J. and now this. Wasn't he indicted on felony counts of pissing on a minor and being a whack MC?

Ooh, post something when/if you get it.

It's disturbing how well this fits at times.

Dusan 07-24-2006 12:22 PM

The greatest song (by me) is: led zeppelin - stairway to haven

"Guitarist Steve" says he's gonna buy one tomorrow, should be fun!

Leto 07-26-2006 01:08 AM

Lucky shmuckster. That calls for some overdistorted Sigur Ros riffing.

*doo doo do doo, doo doo, doo do doo*

Fez 07-26-2006 07:03 AM

I <3 Sigur Ros.

Leto 07-26-2006 08:34 PM

So does me, but I am yet to get 'Takk...'.

Sven-g-englar = one of the best songs ever. LUFF IT

The greatest song to mop to or listen to backwards while playing cards is: led zeppelin - stairway to heaven

Editted for truth.

Lance Bass loves man...posterior. Yeah, that's it, man posterior.

See the latest People magazine. Bass, formerly of Nsync, has crooned/choreographed/"jazz handed" himself out of the closet. Talk about a desperate attempt at reviving your sucking career. Or starting career.
Anyhow, as a follow-up to this, who is the best gay singer? Mercury and Halford spring immediately to mind. NOT LIKE THAT YOU SICKOS!!!

Statikk HDM 07-29-2006 04:11 PM

London Bridge isn't a song that should be heard, but rather watched with the mute on. Fergee ruined the Black Eyed Peas and I wish she'd die in a fire. She's Gwen Stefani all over again.

Statikk HDM 07-29-2006 04:14 PM

Banjo Music

I'm a total sucker for banjo music. Yes, Mr. "I like Metal and Gangsta Rap" enjoys a good banjo player like Earl Scruggs. Always wanted to learn how to play one, never had the time or money.

used:) 07-29-2006 05:21 PM

Fergie didn't ruin the BEPs. I thought her vocals were a great asset to their music. Kind of added that classic feminine touch to it. I don't listen to the radio that much, but I heard she went single, and her songs suck.....

Statikk HDM 07-29-2006 07:20 PM

It didn't need a "feminine touch". It was fine as is. After she came along the songs went to hell. Two words: My Humps. Thats all that needs to be said.

I don't really know many gay singers, but if that's what it takes to sing like Mercury and Halford, I'd be up for it! :p

Statikk HDM 07-30-2006 03:02 AM

Which raises the question: What do you have to do to play like Tipton or Downing and do you really want to know?
/Hellbent! Hellbent for leather!

Fez 08-02-2006 03:28 PM

Jonsi from Sigur Ros is my fave Gay singer.

Leto 08-03-2006 11:34 PM

Mine also. YAYA for falsetto.

So I casually told my guitar teacher about ebow on my way out. I said 'I'll send you the links, it looks awesome'. He comes back with 'Yeah... had one for a while.'. :P

EDIT: Bought Sigur 1/Sigur 9 today. Favourite'd.

Fez 08-05-2006 04:01 AM

You mean ( )?

I must get that album, super cheap in Virgin at the mo...
