It's wrong because it's derailment. You're not contributing to the discussion, you're nitpicking spellings. But you recognize what the words are, so obviously their spelling isn't utterly vital. There are times and places when these things matter, but colloquial discussion isn't one of them.

I'm a little confused by the 'reboot' (I always thought Abe HD was a remake, not a reboot to start again). Is this just a different way of announcing the Abe HD we've been discussing all along, or has a decision now been made to start from scratch again (like the new Tomb Raider) such that the originals are not cannon?

It's a remake. I hate any use of the word 'reboot' to describe it. It makes it sound like we're restarting canon. It's basically the same story, not a vastly different retelling like a film would be.

And I'm going to castrate whoever said it will be out summer 2013. There's not one person on the development team who thinks that's going to happen. And more than 550 people 'like' it, and that number is climbing fast. When we're already in trouble for giving so many promises and release schedules that haven't come to fruition. I have no idea how to damage control this.

I just checked out the comments on that OWI Facebook post. A lot of people seem to be confused as I was with the remake/reboot discrepancy.

There're some now under the belief that original continuity is going to be wiped out, and others disappointed that it's a 'new game' and not the Abe HD remake they were looking forward to.

I wouldn't think too much into it. Generally, it seems the Facebook fans don't follow developments as closely as we do on the forums. Even so, looks like it might need a bit of explaining to nip this in the bud!

Abe HD will be ready when it is ready, where is everyone getting these ideas for release dates from? Also can someone explain all these (let's say) ponies as profile pictures? It looks like something 6 year olds are into

In terms of production we have our programmer making the makeshift Abe move about more and more like Abe, we have our environment artists scrabbling to make the environments, we have our lead artist making Abe look as Abe as possible, and we have our designer furiously making level design documents to give everyone else as much work as possible.

Okay, back on topic. People earlier seemed to think I want the Shrykull gone - I don't. Quite the contrary, I want the Red Rings, which are more useful than the Shrykull and have infinite uses, gone as they serve no purpose other than to make the Shrykull seem less awesome.

It only got used a couple of times before the Shrykull was obtained. Might as well use rocks, or just change the puzzles a little.

Actually, on that note, please don't try to constrain yourself to a timescale too much... That is kinda how Ultima 8 and 9 happened.

Oh and don't forget what happened to Munch. In fact if any of the guys in charge try and attempt to put an unrealistic timescale on anything, remind them of Munch and use it as an example of why nobody should ever do that.
