Latest facebook post talks about how trophies/achievements should be dished out.

I personally like getting them again on other consoles. It gives it a nice replayability feel.

It would be amazing if we could have one of these comparison shots per week. Something to keep us sane during the wait. Plus it gives us nerds fucking loads to talk about, and I love it.

The solution you guys came up with looks great I like the idea of those portals sliding across rails. It somehow makes more sense than in the original game.

Having multiple difficulty modes is a great idea, glad they went with it. I assume it's mostly going to change the amount of enemies and obstacles in the game, but I really hope it means you die in one shot at higher difficulties.

From the interview I gathered Classic Mode = one-shot kill.

The addition of difficult modes is going to be fantastic, offers much more reply value, I get the feeling that there will be some ridiculous trophy for getting 100% in the game on the hardest difficult.

BTW, I found the host of that interview very unprofessional, if I was Lanning, I'd feel a bit pissed if I was answering the question and the host was sat there scrolling through his phone.

He only really did it in the beginning - perhaps he had some bullet points he wanted to check before he asked another question? But I think it was meant to be an informal interview judging by the type of questions he asked.

Worth pointing out that that interview is a couple of months old - from GDC in fact - and things have changed a little since. Regarding 'classic' mode, rest assured that (as Lorne has mentioned more than once) there's not a chance we'd leave out the chance to give seasoned Oddworld fans a true challenge whilst ensuring new players aren't hit with a brick wall of difficulty!

It's about finding the right things to balance and tune, and ensuring players have the right options

Re: the new portal designs - we'll address that shortly.

I'd hope so, but I saw the screenshot of the boombat exploding and it just knocked abe over, it would be pointless to have them just do that when they are either going to knock him into a swinging boulder or off the edge anyway. I cannot wait to jump straight into classic mode!

Only if you stand up when something explodes, and you always died instantly if you were in the blast radius. Crouching lets you keep your balance.

It's more of an art thing than a game design thing, let me speak to the right people and see if we can do something. I don't think it's productive to go into too much detail over everything, but it's nice to discuss the tweaks that appear in the weekly comparisons.

I hate being vague but understand we're a small studio with limited resources working every hour we can on this final stretch. We're committed to maximising the value of the announced price point though, as shown with the announcement of Cross Save and Cross Buy. There's a lot going into NnT that we're still to talk about.

The difficulty levels are an excellent news. I would have been very disappointed if they decided not to do something like that as it seemed like an obvious solution to keep both hardcore fans and newcomers happy.

Also, thank you jaw_alex for providing that portal animation, it looks way better and adequate when it's moving.

As for the pre-order bonus, I just wanted to ask a question because I was out of questions lol. Was trying to get into the "DLC loin cloth" humour :P.

But really, excellent work is evident here. Working in design in any medium, I can see attention to detail when its shown. This is easily my most anticipated game :)
