As far as the core creative team, six people is plenty. Most of the people who worked for OWI back in the day only handled the actual production, but all the main ideas came from Lorne, Sherry, and only a handful of damn fine artists. When the time comes, JAW will hire all the help they need to make it a reality.

Today's GPUs can render 3D scenes in ray-tracing quality in real time. They're going to be able to handle Abe HD in a desirable quality.

Yeah. I don't know how you're going to match that same level of depth with real-time remdering. Maybe you need a pre-rendered backdrop for some levels, with real-time 3d models up close.
