It's all about proportions, each one element is done good enough, but some parts (tendrils) are too small/short and some like belly are definetly too big... Just stick more to the artwork you posted above and it should be ok
Noted about proportions.
But don't worry about the too big belly, etc, building the body was not the priority actually, I was focusing on the head ; So Varrok thank you, I just made the tendrils bigger, longer actually, I'll show you the result. I can say now that the fingers are going to make me crazy, I can feel it ^^ I'm feeling good now with Zbrush but I'm still a beginner so...!! |
(Sorry for the double post)
Here is an update Working on the body (Arms later) http://www.affectueusement-votre-eco.../r19-pres5.jpg Body sculpting in Zbrush is really, really, really fun ! Can't believe how much I missed before I discovered this software oO |
Now that looks fantastic.
It's better, keep improving!
Noted !
Next step, working on the metal parts. This is not going to be animated so I think I'll simply add the helixes/rotors (moving, so) on photoshop for the final composition. I also added some more skin details ; I'll add more and more ;) Texturing will be fun, can't wait ! Ah, please, don't watch the arms, not good yet ^^ http://www.affectueusement-votre-eco.../r19-pres6.jpg See ya! |
Just saw that on facebook, good work!
Thank you Varrok ;)
I love your Flying Slig, Lauric!
Perhaps I could borrow the model for my film... when you're done with it, of course ;) |
Sweet mother of odd... It looks fantastic.
That's looking incredibly good so far, Lauric. :)
This Slig is fantastic! When he will be textured he will look like improved original model from developers!
Thanks guys, I'll be back very soon with more funny pictures of the slig ;)
Okay, I'm teasing again...
Here is one of the slig position he (they) will take. http://www.affectueusement-votre-eco.../r19-pres7.jpg I know, that sounds funny. He's not dancing, I sware :) ...But this could be a good idea, hmm ? ^^ |
The first one who find what the hell he's doing, win !
Playing guitar?
Pulling a lever? Nah, that's stupid. He's a toreador (or, if you prefer, torero) and he's playing with bulls
Isn't that one of the poses the Newscaster makes?
Haha, nope !
Well, there is no reason for you to find what the slig is really doing, I just said that for fun :) But nicely tried ! More soon ;) |
Turning a very large and difficult valve.
The pose looks fairly natural actually, if a little stiff. |
He's in search of his head... and legs
He should've known not to lose head while drinking last night
Excellent illustration, well done ^^
Really weird how the position and the glass fit perfectly ! But wrong answer...The slig is finished, I'm almost done with the second one with its weird position ;) |
Pictures man! Pictures!
Done !
http://www.affectueusement-votre-eco.../r19-pres8.jpg It's not exactly 100% the same as the original but, you will agree with me if I say that's enough for me :) |
Best. Ever.
amazing work lauric :) did u render that image inside zbrush?
Wow, that's pretty damn good.
If I didn't know there wasn't an image of a flying slig like that, I'd say you had ripped it straight out of one of the manuals and photoshopped it a tad. I don't think I've ever seen something that good looking based on Oddworld in forever or at least a long time.
